I wanted Talosians to be the villains. I also wanted the mirror universe too. Combining the two- have the Talosians create a so-called "Proto-Mirror Universe" of sorts using their psychic abilities. I'm a trekkie...been a trek fan my entire life. But TNG and ENT were my series. DS9 was cool and better than VOY. I wasn't too big on TOS though sadly. Nice review @Geekvolution and great interview as usual with Captain Logan!!!
I would love to see a new take on the Klingon’s. They are seen briefly in the deleted scenes and they look quite scary in this rebooted Star Trek universe. I also wouldn’t mind the Tholian’s or even something like the Mirror Universe.
What I don’t want to see are the Borg or Q. Those villains are strictly TNG.
I think having Harry Mudd making a mess of a first contact mission could be great. It would center more on science fiction drama (and comedy) than action, but I doubt we'll get that. It's more likely we'll get the Talosians.
In approximate order of most to least wanted by me: Talosians, Mitchell, Trelaine, Mudd and Horta... And why the Horta...? This creature wasn't really a villain at all. Sure, there was tension and mystery building up to the reveal and a clear resolution. I don't get that as a film villain concept.
I think the Klingons will show up in the second film. Not necessarily as the major villains, but I think the fans want that. They could also being in races from the other series, like the Borg or the Ferengi.
How about Harry Mudd hears about the Talosians, and wants to make a profit off of their ability to cast illusion... Harry tricks Kirk and crew to transport him to Talos IV (say he tells them his wife is stranded there or something) and when they arrive the Talosians decide to put Kirk and crew in the cage...
@Geekvolution Great video; I'm hoping to see a reworked version of the Gorn at some point, just for fun. Do you suppose something like "Assignment: Earth" could work or too much time travel? I would be amazed if the Klingons weren't in this next one.
My sis and I love this channel, and this series is marvelous.
@tonystark106422 Thanks so much! Yeah, I don't think we need more time travel at this point, and Assignment Earth really was a set-up for a spin-off series that never happened. But if they wanted to give Gary Seven his own movie, that'd be kinda neat :) And I'd bet money we'll see Klingons in the next film, even if they aren't the big bads.
I think using Trelane in place of Q would be ideal... but maybe not as the central villain... Trelane, like Q, was a master trickster/manipulator... maybe associating him with another threat would work well.
I'm not sure if Klingons as chief villains is the way to go just yet, but maybe a brewing conflict with them could be something hinted at and then maybe taken into the forefront in the next film. I think that Talosians could work possibly but the conflict needs to be much more broad and have higher stakes than in The Cage where it was only Pike who had been taken by them. Trelane or the Horta wouldn't work imo.
are telosians those big headed aliens from the cage? They could work. They were pretty creepy. TOS Klingons would be cool. We havent had badass Klingons in a long time, not since Star Trek 3 were they portrayed exclusively as villians.
Before I say who I want, i want to say that they can do almost, this is a new timeline. Saying that, I would like in a future movie to do the borg in the 23 century. And you can make a good movie about how they are so much more powerful.
I know this is off topic from the video. But do you think Janeway doomed Earth when she returned from the Delta Quadrant. Reason: The borg found out she had super advanced technology that they'd want.
Yes - TOS Klingons. That would be awesome.

Open with a small Gorn sequence, kinda like Spiderman 3
Then move into Kor, Kang and Koloth/other Klingons.
That said I do like your Talosians theory.

Whatever they do for the 2nd movie, they need to bring back The Guardian of Forever in the 3rd movie.

TALOSIANS!

The Talosians (an entire race of gods) would be the best bet, with Gary Mitchell a close second. Janice Lester would likewise be a good idea.

"Tholian Web" Makes alot of sense, but throw in some Cardasians and some Ferenge for spice!!!

its going to be the klingons. and it will be bad ass beyond all belief given what JJ did with the first one.
the borg: already done. sort of. at least the tech was there. and as expected fucked up the feds.
the ferengi: really? i dont think i can take them seriously as an enemy.
the romulans: done. but maybe in-universe rommies?
the q: that out be exclusive to the TNG remake in 20 years.
KAHN! would be great but the actor would need to play him MASTERFULLY.
its gona be klingons
