If I wasn't able to mount pogoplug as a virtual drive in linux, I'd throw it in the trash! The first android pogoplug app hardly worked, but at least I could view .avi files. The new app has a pop up that says"must have video player that supports .avi files",although with the original app I used the default video player on my elocity a7 and it played these files just fine. Further more when I try to use the original pogoplug android app it doesn't work any more. Don't waist your money.
Okay... So what you're saying is that the pogoplug has to connect back to a service that sits in between where I am in the world and the pogo plug device (sitting in my home office)? Alright; "pass" on this product; not for the "security conscious" crowd. Not bad for the home user looking for quick access, but I'd prefer not to have my info sitting out in cyberspace. A good home NAS (ReadyNas, Qnap, Synology, etc...) and a vpn router cuts out the middle man (PogoPlug) in this instance. :-)
