I used a board of 18mm MDF to cover my bench. I put a 25mm high fence along one short edge. I clamp the board to my bench and use the the fence to supporet the work while I drive home the screws. Make things a lot easier and holds the work steady., Bigger work pieces I clamp to the board as well as having them against the fence.
