  • That was tasty...nice work man. I especially like the beginning acoustic part...so pretty. ...and I've been wanting to go to a music school for a while. Is it super expensive or can broke ass musicians like me get grants or anything like that? I live in Oklahoma and there's not really any music schools here, but I REALLY wanna get into something like that.

  • i was thinking of going to MI I was wondering if it was easy to get in?

  • @bassguitaree It is a very small school with applicants from all over the world, but if you have done your work you have a good chance. I won't say it is easy to get in. Good luck.

  • Great playing !!

  • Hey nice video really cool. i saw a coment about the cycle of fifths and the play in all keys.... so do you mean cycle of fiths chord wise??/. and do you mean play 1 scales covering the whole neck then the next one?

  • @hairlessdog101 I don't know which comment you are refering to, however I would certainly advise you to practice what you are working on in all the keys around the circle of fifths. It's the most effective way of learning your fretboard and understanding chord harmony. Good luck!

  • @Guitarteacher777 im pretty sure i understand what your talking about but can u give a simple example please?

  • is the first piece Bach's BWM 999 prelude?

  • @JoelLXVI I believe that is the number. It's Prelude in D minor.

  • hey man great video, im starting MI in the spring for guitar too, im also self taught up to now as far as technique and skills, i need all that theory stuff like u, any advice when i start?will the teachers understand that?

  • MI has a theory book out, it's on amazon.

  • @byoork. Hey bro. My wife just pointed out to me that I didn't respond to your question. I overlooked it and I apologize. Anyway, how is it going at M.I. for you? I'm sure you know by now that the instructors are amazing people. My advice is to attack music theory like it slapped your momma. Enjoy it man, it'll be over in a second. Take care.

  • @Guitarteacher777 yea man thanks!! its second quarter now, the only trouble im having is with reading, of al things, its just a pain in the arse for me, as for the teachers omg there amazing, open counclings are the best thing ever made! keep in touch!

  • @Guitarteacher777@Guitarteacher777 thanks for replying!1 i cant begin to describe how awsome the school is, and the way they match me with my private teacher is downright scary, there very aware of the direction u wanna go and help u out with it, im loving it here, plus i already made some friends from around the world, its so insane, thanks for the heads up! OH any advise on reading? how much did u spend on it every day?

  • @byoork They certainly have the school down to a science don't they? You asked about reading. Unfortunately, reading seems to be a universal weakness for most guitarists. Blame it on the styles that made the guitar so popular and you'll notice those styles don't require much reading. You can become a good reader in time. Here is the formula...Every day, short durations, metronome, all keys, memorize circle of 5ths. Do it now because you won't after your graduate. Good luck!

  • That sweeping came out of NOWHERE o.O Haha, you got a sub, you are a master at two different and difficult styles!

  • Very , Very nice! :)

  • that piece is so hard to play,I studied it for about 2 months and still couldn t play it,amazing playing

  • It took me longer than a couple of months to get it clean. Don't quit.

  • That was great playing!

  • I appreciate that. Subscribe to my videos. There are many more to come.

  • Did the Musician's Institute help out a lot with your guitar playing?

  • I had a good handle on my technique when I arrived at M.I. What helped me the most was learning music theory. They will help you with all areas of your music education.

  • hahaha he does look like john

but you could have played that on a 6 string

  • I know I didn't touch the low B string. I used that guitar for the pickups. I needed a specific tone for that solo which that guitar provided. There are many factors I consider when I grab a guitar off my wall for recording.

  • he looks like john petrucci xD

  • Dude! Only one word to sum it up. WOW!

    Good job.

  • love the pizzicato

  • Everything sounded great Robert. You on the drums, too I'm guessing? I'm glad I'm taking from you. it's a pleasure.

  • Moonlight Sonata is one of the most beautiful classical pieces ever created

  • the classical piece was awesome man!! whoever is it who played it!! wow! :)

  • that was fucking amazing awesome man!!!! great fucking job man!

  • Looks like you swirled your own guitar. I know that oil paint should be used. I even found some info about borax being used in the water but no one truely explains the whole process. It almost seems to me like it's a secret. If you don't mind would you share your secret with me? Thanks

  • Sorry, no I didn't swirl it myself. It's a Herc Fede swirl. However, I've been practicing swirling on test wood in preparation to my own swirls. It's not that hard. Just use oil paint, dip and move remaining paint out of the way with a stick. Then pull the guitar up. There is a video on Ebay for purchase on the process which I haven't seen. There are also a few good videos to watch right here on Youtube. Good luck!

  • If you were anywhere near my town, I would definitely be a student of yours.

  • Find me on Skype at guitarteacher777 and we can do live one on one internet lessons.

  • very nice....now u need a 7 string Nylon.......

  • This is just wonderful to my ears. I really enjoyed the acoustic piece. The electric piece was a nice switch. You really are an immensely talented musician. Best wishes and continued success.

  • Thank you for the nice comments. Look for more videos to be posted here soon. Take care.

  • Wow, just incredible! I really love the acoustic part especially. Did you write? Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • You are welcome. Thank you. The classical excerpt is a Bach piece in D minor. I wrote the the second clip that is with the electric guitar. I'll be posting some great guitar lessons on here soon. Keep checking back. Take care.

  • i really love the tone of that acoustic, you have perfect technique

  • Thank you very much. "Perfect"...I don't know. I strive for it. I accept the compliment graciously.

  • I was just about to ask do you also play electric but then the solo started, amazing playing, great techinque on both fingers and pick, wish you lived in ireland,I need a teacher like you

  • Thanks for the kind words. If you are ever in the states, look me up. I'll be glad to give you some tips. Take care.

  • Outstanding. Looks like I need to practice. LOL... I love 7 strings too, won't touch a 6 string anymore.

  • Thanks. No matter your level there is always someone who makes you want to practice...or sometimes quit, but isn't it better that way? Nothing like a little inspiration. Take care.

  • nice!
