  • if you use headphones, you can plug them in only partway and it may play audio in both phones.

  • Download the video from nptel site and set audio setting in vlc media player to mono on tool bar at top that will solve your audio problem.

  • get out of my right year first

  • Why is there no audio?

  • Lol, is it just me or did anyone else just paused and skipped the video once realized that it's made in india? :D

    No offence, just asking :P

  • There's not enough on AI online. Glad this found its way to YouTube.

  • Is it weird that i find this rather calming to listen to? :S :)

  • If some humans are smart enough to develop technology to the point of advanced artificial intelligence than how can they be so stupid as to create their own replacement?

  • west viode

  • 00:04 it says It is illegal to copy or display this video in any other form of transmission. ?I do not understand this because Internet is the form of Transmission and it is display of video to general public and it is and if it is prohibited why is it uploaded ?

  • @jucest this video is owned by NPTEL, and this is not an illegal transmission because this is NPTEL's official channel... :)

  • damn this woman is boring.. i am falling alseep.. .. im sure she know her shit.. but she cant even get her thoughts and words together to deliver it on a video !!

  • i found this quite hard to masturbate to. please change the lecturer and repost vid. thanks.

  • some humans would fail this test

  • Very cool resource.

  • windows 98?

  • Although the lecturer is attractive, it would have been better to leave the PP info on the screen for most of the time and put the "talking head" in a small box in a corner.

Putting all info on screen all at once is also not a good idea. More in-depth PP material would also be helpful.

  • Thanks muc

  • useful video

  • What's with the weirdo head dot?

  • Thank you extremely for this information.

  • Correct me if I am wrong but I only hear right channel audio and not the left.

  • @AndySingh58 lol, youre right, i only have my left speaker and i cant hear anything...

  • Why call it ai when there is no intelligence. Oh wait, science is pretending that it's intelligent. If they think hard enough, hey maybe it start thinking. I'm cracking up.

  • @cmpresents obviously you have no understanding what intelligence means

  • @Serpico261 So why don't you explain what intelligent is, I'm dying to know.

  • @cmpresents I see you understand this subject very well

    (trollface.jpg)

  • Very interesting. I'm currently following a course on consciousness at uni and this neatly accompanies it for my extra-curricular interest.

  • if you like Artificial Intelligence, check out my project. It's a computer program that uses NLP and Bayesian classification to find free food events in emails! food-bot dot com

  • Too much make-Up for Me to take any of this teaching seriously. Too much production and not enough expression on the importance of the Artificial part of Artificial Intelligence. My Teacher has to have Serious Passion about said Topic of Study in order for me to "get it". No Passion No Heart No Soul Can Only Teach Me how to be Miserable. I'm Actually Intelligent and I'm Sick from this Criminally InSane, UnFeeling, ARTIFICIALLY Intelligent and HEARTLESS System Fucking with My Truth Loving Mind.

  • @HitlerWasRight2010 Clear your Mind Loser! You are not at the center of this world...lol

  • @HitlerWasRight2010 ok now take your medication.

  • Damn she's hot

  • I love this subject. Thanks for uploading and sharing.

  • Wow. Teacher is beautiful. Her lecture is also wonderful !

  • A wonderful and informative lecture that I am enjoying in supplement to my compsci education. I am very thankful to you for being willing to share this with the world.

P.S. You are a smart AND beautiful woman, your husband is very lucky.

  • I would like to see AI more participating in Security systems, great intro, really helped a lot

  • thanks you a lot for your efforts :)

i am working and studying computer science

and my teachers don't want to be front of camera (even we have a

    lot of them!).

I am proud to hear more lectures from you:)

    again congratz for yours efforts:)X

    best regards

  • It's awesome what you're doing sharing all this knowledge, thanx

  • So intelligence is mathematical algorithm operating database? Problem is that such database will not invent nothing new, except code cracking (fast calculation), thats why it is not intelligence.

  • @night3x

You could argue that human can't invent anything new either, only modify and reassamble things he already knows.

  • if only this motherfkr knew how to speak english properly

  • @nepalihercules come on dude.... dont be coming out here and start being like this on educational videos.... i could understand her perfectly fine.. if the level of language being used is inferior to your high and mighty intelligence, i suggest you watch videos offered by harvard or oxford uni, if they do offer it. so to be brief - DONT WATCH IT IF YOU HAVE THAT BIG A PROBLEM!!

  • some day there will exist technology that will allow me to listen to audio on the internet in stereo; youll see

  • First 8:12 is useless so viewers start from 8:12 to save some time.

However, the whole video is mere waste of time.

  • @anoopvijayan2 What do you do? Develop softer butt wipes?

  • @jeejo1976 I F**king dont understand what the f**k bothers you?

  • @anoopvijayan2 You!

  • she's cute :D

  • speak louder pls

  • As far as I'm concerned, this is only an overview regarding Artificial Intelligence. So I may not be able to criticize Professor Anupam. However, I hope next Lectures could be really interactive. Good job! Leite

  • crap shit.!!

  • Very good video, sarkar mam explained really well.

@Mr Mobo No offense but i think some points dont need stressing up for an introductory lecture

    @amitsmilesforu

Agree 100%. There's no scope of 'learning' in colleges. I'm talking about mumbai university but i think it's pretty much the same everywhere in india unfortunately

  • saw this on codecall(.)net so I had to check it out :) looks good

  • because of her i passed Discrete Structures last semester n now its AI

  • She has a pretty good accent, comparing to some others from India. Actually reading the slides does not inhibit understanding so much, because they are quite verbose.

  • Dear Prof. Sudeshna Sarkar,

Thank you for sharing us these lecture notes. However you are not teaching at all, you are simply reading to us the notes. I hope you could improve your teaching method to make student think more rather than just listening.

  • @TheMrMobo , I agree with you.

  • @TheMrMobo Take notes and review them?

Research topics in your notes that you do not understand?

  • This time I'm not commenting anything about the lecture. I'm lucky to have had only men Profs. Wow, she is sweet. I can't handle this, sorry guys I will try the audio version. Damn.

  • too good ....

  • Great. interesting subject, but, as usual in english and ofcourse a bad accent. How am I suppose to study?

  • Comment removed

  • @PrintScrn12: It is English... how about you learn to comprehend an Indian accent? What's your problem, anyway? I can understand it.

  • Veri intreresting but may be based on faulty premises?

behaving rationally is not possible without the presence of emotion.

People with braindamage which lach emotion come out as cold and not necessarily rationsl.

I would argue an ideal performance is an ideal balance of good values and logic rational thinking. A self aware android should ideally be a sentient, even if mostly ruled by logic. mm?

  • Great lecture. Beautiful woman too!

  • Great, just what I needed to catch up before my actual AI course starts.

  • Thank you for this video. Very good.

  • I really enjoyed the lecture... and the professor is really beautiful and having good accent.

  • here is where i do something i do not do at our collage --- study

thank you very much nptel team and teachers for these great precious lectures.

  • This is quite an important lecture out in the wild. Shokriya!

  • wow, what a cool resource on youtube, thank you for uploading :)
