This shouldn't even be an argument. Kobe perfectly timed a successful jump that completely cleared a car speeding underneath AND slightly BESIDE him. He would never try to go completely over it. That's just a jump that's a half step off from career ending. BUT... he shows that he definitely could do it.

I may go with the green screen theory. If you pause it while they are talking, something about the lighting doesnt seem right when you look at it. I know they are using decent/professional cameras, but the green screen effect still looks like its being used.
