Wow. I would like to thank you for this video, it played a huge part in convincing me to watch this show. And I'm so glad I did, because it's the most incredible show I've ever seen. Nothing else even comes close to the brilliance of Homicide, and I owe the fact that I have experienced that brilliance in part to you for creating such a wonderful, hauntingly beautiful and depressing video. Just amazing. Thanks so much. :D
@JamesBluntsMonkey Oh wow, I just read this comment for the first time, and I'm so glad this video played a part in you watching the show. It really is a beautifully written and beautifully acted program....now I'm tempted to have a marathon for it lol.
The greatest police drama in the history of network television, and it's not even close. The only police drama that was better on ANY television was "The Wire."
@kellycny65 The Wire is a great show, but cannot be compared to Homicide. Dialogues, depth of the caracters and everyday and not so everyday situations... that's what makes Life on the street better. At least to me it does.
Wow. You are a genious. Featured some of the best sad moments, like Danvers with his dead fiancée, Bayliss getting shot, Beau, Kay, and Stan getting shot, and Bayliss circling the dead body of Adena Watson. Thank you SO MUCH for posting this.
Hey! Just wanted to say that I've also seen the Extreme Ways vid, and I just loved it. I don't think there's any vids better than 'Extreme' and this one!
Wonderful. I loved it. Just got into Homicide maybe a year ago and it's an amazing show. I really, really hope you continue making Homicide videos because this one is brilliant.
one could make the argument that the acid test for art is its impact on those who consume it, what it compels them to do. you, my friend, have taken art in and returned the favor in kind. as a huge devotee of this extended piece of art called "homicide:life on the streets," i am now a devoted fan of yours as well. mille grazie...
Oh my god..... I think I may just cry, this is brilliant and touching. I wonder if Munch misses it at all, now that he is working Svu? I know I do....
All right - since you said you didn't mind me commenting then I'll comment just one more time to say that this music video is total perfection. I seriously cannot watch this without crying. Keep up this awesome work! You bring something to the fandom with your videos!! (I'll be quiet now!)
This music video is so touching! I love it a lot!! I'm planning on watching this, like, twenty times, to be honest. This song fits perfectly with H: LoTS. Please make more Homicide videos!
maybe you can update this, there are many more scenes that come to mind, tim smashing the glass in colors, or the stakeout episode where they are going through the snow in the park, or gee in that second "season" episode where they find lead paint or something and is going up the staircase, or the ep where gee shoots the guy but before that when they are moving along in the alley of the building.
Yeah, there are so many great scenes in Homicide that I had to leave out because the song was only two and a half minutes long. But I am working on so many other Homicide videos at the moment...I just need to finish them! But they are more character studies on just one or a few characters, not entire ensembles. Maybe I'll make a "sister" video to go with the theme of this one, but to a different song to keep it fresh.

Love the funeral procession scene with pembleton salutes in his dress blues.
or when lewis breaks down, and bolander embraces him, regarding crosetti's suicide.
when the little girl goes to the board and says "chilton, thats my name"
give me chills every time. now that is great TV
