Thin layer of fiberglass resin and smooth it out with sandpaper spray paint it, and it will be nice and sturdy with a smoother roundness where its needed
Sing, O goddess, the anger of Achilles son of Peleus, that brought countless ills upon the Achaeans. Many a brave soul did it send hurrying down to Hades, and many a hero did it yield a prey to dogs and vultures...
achilles was a real warrior, there are scripts in the middle east that discribe a scorpion-tiped poison arrow, peirced Achilles's foot, there starts the legend of the "Achilles heel"
Thanks dude. Yeah thats my character. When i really want to do something, i just do it. I dont think too much about the hardwork cos if i did, i would be put off doing it.
But these days, i want to make many things like a thundercat lion-o sword, a terminator skull, robocop mask etc
But im far too lazy now lol. I dont think i will bother making those right now. Far too much effort. I have made a batman one though and its on my channel
everyone thought that Troy was just a myth, until the german archaeologist Henrich Schleiman found the riuns of the walls of Troy in modern day turkey (these lands were Greek in those times and the Turks didnt even exist as a nation but were Mongol herdsmen). So if troy was proven to exist then why should we not accept that Achilles was real warrior?I believe he existed and just like Hercules were real people that became legends due to their great heroic deeds!Your cardboard helmet & armour 10/10
Yes, troy is just another great city in ancient greece, troy area. So its highly possible that it was real, as well as warriors like achilles. he easily could have been a genuine real soldier in ancient times. :)
Not a bad job, but I hope you know that this style of helmet is not really period. It is based on the "Corinthian" style helmet, which was used during the classical Greek period. This style did not exist at the time of the Trojan War, which was during the Mycenaean period. Unfortunately, movies tend to fudge on their history a lot.
Yes dander is right. Brad Pitt's helmet (a very nice copy of which you made there) is loosely based on Corinthian-style helmet, that was just one of the variants of Greek helmets.
Mycenaeans that fought in Troyan war had more simple helmets, not saucepan-like exactly but more the conical type with a kind of crest identical to the later Macedonians, like an inversed half-U with no ponytail (in fact Macedonian hoplites just prior to Philip's reforms were fossils of the post-Mycenaean era!).
Would you be kind enough to show me what Achilles wore? I'm trying to find replicas to purchase. Mainly for me to wear. I know it's dorky but I just feel that I have to as a Greek. It's sad I know nothing about the original armor though.
loooooser lol

Its not dorky at all. I love ancient warriors and military.
Achilles was not proven to be a real guy so its hard to say what he wore. But i assume he wore typical greek/trojan armour of the time.
But you can have a look at what brad pitt wore in the film and see. But i dont think thats accurate though.
kingfbi 2 years ago
True. But the sword was extremely awesome, real or not.
