@allawi413 Nope. They were not starved. I fed them enough food to last one day, and first thing in the morning, I would feed them by hand. If I fed them outside of the cage, I could get them back inside by replenishing their food dishes.

I am now feeding 5 cockatiels by hand, and the same applies. One tiel wouldn't come to me until I started using millet. A couple of the tiels don't care if I use seeds or pellets, they'll still eat! All but one are flighted, and only one hand raised/friendly.

@MsFatma2 That was 4 years ago, and sadly I no longer have any of them. I decided as much as I love the little twirps, I worry about them so much!!!

The male budgie came from a home where everyone smoked, drank and got high.

The dark blue and dark green hens came from a breeder out of Vegas (he was at a local bird expo).

The 'white' budgie and light green/dominant pied hens came from a friend of a friends family. This family simply no longer wanted their birds.

what i dont get is i only have 2 parakeets which is normal there are really weird people out there who get like 30 and get another one each day what the hell is the pont of that. dont get me wrong i love parakeets and birds but come on.

@sammymunir Some are breeders. Some enjoy the variety of colors that budgies come in. Perhaps others, like myself, are given unwanted birds, or birds who can no longer be cared for by their owners, whatever the case may be. Out of my current flock of 8, only one is not a second hand bird.

Since Normie was an only budgie, and I wasn't interested in having any more budgies, irregardless of how much I love the little twirps, I found her a home with other budgies! That, and I wont have to worry about her trying to woo over my mitred conure and getting hurt!

@777Maruyama I no longer have the cage (nor the birds) but that particular cage was 30"L x 20"W x 43"H. A family with kids took the budgies and a dove owner took the flight cage.

I tamed them by feeding them food from my hands as you can see in the video. Quite simple.

They eat Sweet Harvest Cockatiel no sun seed, mixed with a canary/finch mix (with milk thistle seed), and fresh foods (i.e. veggies, pasta, rice, cooked beans, etc)

i had a blue parakeet, much like the ones you have, named Petie, and a yellow one named Sunshine. they died. now i have a green parakeet named Envy and a white one named Angel.

Five budgies in all... The light blue one is Smurf (the only male), dark blue (violet) is Sophia, dark green (violet) is Georgia. The "white" one (pied sky blue & violet) as well as the dominant pied light green don't have names.
