  • road racing is the new short track racing.

  • Who's the idiot who goes in and out out of the pits on the last lap?

  • This is real racing. Stop putting more of all these cookie cutter tracks on the schedule and slap in some road courses here and there (especially one in the chase). NASCAR is all about superspeedways, short tracks, and road courses. The occasional good finish at a Texas or Atlanta doesnt warrent all of them to have multiple races each year. Also take off a Pocono race. its boring and if it keeps 2 dates and Martinsville loses one to something stupid like Kentucky, im just gonna lose it

  • ambrose always fucks up at montreal

  • Of course it'd be the longest last lap of his life, it's the longest track he'd run.

  • same dude that beat micheal schumacher in the ROC mayneee lol

  • am a formula 1 fan and I find nascar boring but I watch this road race of nascar every year and they are the best. watkins glen inf ineon and now montreal i from canada this is good.

  • wow what a finish nascar + road course= awesomee

  • that was in my opinion of the greatest finishes in all of nascar in 2009. not only because it was close but because of all the rubbin' and wreckin' and bumpin' and slidin' all throughout the last 10 or so laps.

  • Hopefully the Road America race will be just as good.

  • great race one of my faves

  • Unbelievable!!!!!

  • Dumolin made me lol

Good for Raines, a top 10 in a Front Row Motorsports car.

  • felt so bad for Marcos

  • NASCAR should race more on road courses, I love'em!

  • @lommaren i agree

  • is this the only race in nascar that dosn't go around in a big oval. i've been watching this year since marcos is in there and i'd like to see some real tracks like what he's used to in australia. not saying the big ovals are gay or anything but it would be nice to mix it up.

go HOLDEN!!! 9 of the top 10 at bathurst and the ford didn't even have a ford badge on it

  • Sprint cup and Nationwide series goes to Watkins Glen and Infineon Raceway too.

  • lmao@tony raines

  • I love both Carl Edwards and Marcos Ambrose. I wanted Marcos to win! I rather Marcos win himself a cup race before the end of the year. He was so close at Bristol.

  • Great job Carl!! And to everyone who is saying that Carl should have been black flagged for the wreck in turn 2 well, he isnt the only one who has wrecked somebody like that. Hello Kyle Busch wrecks people almost all the time.. What about Robby Gordon? He wrecks people on road courses a lot. Im not saying its right but its racing.. Deal with it!!

Great race, one of the best in my opinion.

Carl is a really good driver and he deserved this win!! :) :)

  • i predicted that ambrose was going to make a mistake on the final lap and he did lol

  • toyota sucks

  • I hate when they say Marcus Ambrose.

If I'm not mistaken, its MarCOS Ambrose.

    This was an amazing race!

  • Marcos is pronouced as Mar - cuss

Cheers from a down under Nascar fan.

  • too bad for marcos

  • damn!!! I really wanted Marcos to win but good for Carl

  • I feel so bad for Marcos. He had run a perfect race until the last turn and it cost him the victory. I AM STILL A BIG FAN MARCOS!! KEEP UP THE AWESOME RACING!!

  • the only reason anyone is hating on the 'winner' is because said winner drove like a total boner. fuck that wreckless move Carl made in turn 2... I still firmly believe he should have been black flagged for that... Nascar has no balls... and at best their concept of 'good racing' is a very warped one...

GOOD RACING DOES NOT INVOLVE WRECKING PEOPLE AND FUCK YOU IF YOU DISAGREE

  • Black flaged for what? For passing Marcos?

    He did nothing wrong.

Marcos made a mistake, Edwards took his chance and won.

In nascar, 1 mistake can make you lose the race, just too bad. If you can't live with it because Marcos is your favorite driver.. then don't fucking watch nascar.

  • No you fool... the pass on Marcos was clean and fair, it's the bullshit mess he caused in turn 2 after the final restart that I'm upset with.

The 11 had position, yet Carl decided to drive his car off the track and then into the door of the 11... it was completely uncalled for and he should have been black flagged for such a wreckless/careless/rookie like move.

  • Oh I see now (from my point of view at montreal, I didnt see that he was in the grass), well, I wouldnt give a balck flag for going in the grass... that would be too severe. If Nascar would apply this to all driver, there would be about 12 cars left at the end of the race....

But yeah I must say that that wasn't a clean turn and that he was responsible, or at least partialy responsible of the crash/bullshit in turn 2.

  • See to me I don't think it's right to let him get off scott free, much less let him win the race.

Wreckless driving is still wreckless driving no matter who is involved, and it should be handled accordingly.

It would have been one thing if Carl did what he did to the 11 if no other cars were around... at least then the bullshit would have been limited to only those involved... it still wouldn't have made it OK but at least it would be slightly easier to excuse.

  • That was Ranger's fault for squeezing Edwards. Ranger is a total nut to be honest, he's wrecked so many people in CASCAR

  • Ranger had position... Carl decided to try and make an idiot move. For once I actually don't think Ranger did anything wrong.

  • I second that. Also, Ranger couldn't make him a place anyway, he had no grip since the track was wet.

  • Carl was atleast at Ranger's door at T1...which means he'll definitely be atleast at Ranger's rear quarter panel during T2....Ranger squeezed him...a LOT. Same thing that happened to Raikonnen in F1 and F1 penalized the squeezer.

It doesn't matter if you're somewhat ahead of the other guy, if the guy behind you is charging you SHOW SOME RACING ETIQUETTE and dont block overly aggressive (which ranger did all race and would have landed a solid penalty in F1 or IndyCar). It's basic racecraft

  • But Edwards didn't spin out Ambrose like Robbie Gordon did in 2007. Edwards also didn't touch Ambrose at all on that last lap (when Edwards wasn't even close to Ambrose until that last hairpin/chicane)

  • why does everyone assume I'm talking about the winning pass? are you people blind? I'm talking about the mess Carl caused in turn 2 damnit!

  • its a shame so manye people hate on the winner.

Carl did great congrats to him... Ambrose deserved it more, but thats what happens with a last minute mistake.. congrats to both though for 1st and 2nd

  • Watching everyone else finishing the race with dents/duct tape all over their cars and tires rubbing against the fenders was freaking priceless.

  • thats a lie and you know it, but its ok, with every winner theres a hater

  • ....you have watched NASCAR before right...

I mean Edwards pushed Ambrose, but he didn't pit maneuver him like that retard Robbie Gordon did in 2007. Also...did you even SEE how Andrew Ranger was driving? If Marcos had anyone to worry about it was RANGER, cause ranger gave no one any space what so ever (just look at him in CASCAR as well....)

  • Look up Canadian Tire Series, 2008 Atlantic Dodge Dealers 300 Part 7

Ten tell me Ranger isn't a good driver, It takes skill to save a car like that, he had a clean run up until then

  • Never said he was a crap driver. He's just a little overaggressive. He's very rude but he's no Jason Plato

  • Thankfully he's no Plato. and surely overagressive is subjective, just as what defines a classic race is?

  • overly aggressive would be excessively squeezing someone. What would be excessively squeezing someone? Edwards right on the door or Ranger coming in T1. Which means he'll be ATLEAST at the rear quarter panel of Ranger in T2. So...racing etiquette would be giving enough room for the guy to be on track at T2, cause he'll be there regardless of what u do (T1 and T2 are practically connected)....and Ranger squeezed Edwards off track.

  • Comment removed

  • lol Ambrose FAIL jk i like marcos

  • All the race Ambose like a real road course expert, but the last corner like a real novice!... Great for Edwards...

  • Well these aren't exactly road specific cars, can't imagine how unruly these big big cars would be on the rain.

  • Ah C'mon, the wall outside turn 14 ain't called the wall of champions for nothing you know. I mean If Schumacher, Villeneuve and Hakkinen crashed there in similars circumstances surely you can cut Ambrose some slack.
