  • i recommend you use some 3m electrical tape it looks a lot better and it is specificaly designed for these types of applications

  • wire gauge goes in reverse because it is based on how much they stretch the cable to make it that gauge so you are probably looking at a 12 or 10 gauge wire on the monster not a 16 a 16 would be smaller then the 14 gauge so the monster is a lower number on the gauge witch means its thicker and can carry a lot more watts

  • Upgrade again, to SurgeX which is an eliminator not a suppressor, do some homework, check it out.

  • Couple things Stef: 1st 16 gauge cable is lighter than 14 gauge....the lower the number, the heavier the cable. 2nd - While Monster has upped the ante against Furman, I will put my Furman PL-PRO DMC against it any day of the week. The PL-8 is the budget protection unit, you can't compare that to anything. However, if you really want to see a powerhouse, get the PL-PRO DMC. Amazing.

  • are the outlets on the power conditioner ok for any power plugs

  • Hello, I'm thinking of buting one of these. Can you kindly tell me whether this unit can be reset in case it receives a surge higher than 120 V and is it suitable to eliminate or decrease hum from tube amps. Thank you?!

  • @zotos777 As far as I know yes it can reset, like it won't be damaged if that happens. As far as hum from tube amps, not sure, you'd have to ask Monster about that, this unit does help eliminate line noises but for that I don't know...

  • Awesome demo! I'm still deciding to get 2500 or 3500, but your demo really helped me.

  • i just got this 2500 today. i love it. but im getting a loud hum from my studio monitors. this is part of the reason i bought this in the first place. didnt fix the problem though. I have a dj setup and use traktor. when i plug the traktor interface(rca's) into the in's on the mixer the humming begins. do i need ground loop isolators?? or should i lift the ground on my imac???

  • @greg0716 that is strange... test if you have your laptop hook all up and you hear the buzzing, if you unplug the power supply of the laptop does the buzz go away? if it does then your power supply on the laptop is causing it. It could also be your speakers, are they powered? are they both on the same circuit? you could raise your ground loop, but that is not the best solution.

  • @greg0716 it is your laptp soud car buy a usb one

  • not to be a noob but what does a power conditioner even do??

  • what rack case do you have, oh and also, what is the thing below the usb hub thats got like 5 cords plugged into it?

  • @guitarsbunch347 the case is the odyssey fz1004, the thing it probably the numark dj i/o, its the usb interface for the laptop to the mixer

  • im going to get the Monster Pro3500 for 200 :)

  • how does a power conditioner work? do i plug IEC power cables into a extension lead with enough plug sockets? thanks

  • Thanks for the great video. I was researching power conditioners and I think you sold me on the Monster 2500.

  • why did you go with this type of kit rather than CDJ's?

  • @8bitben for the moment I want to keep things are simple as possible for my mobile rig, simple compact easy setup. Also since I had 19" rack equipment I would have to get a new mixer, new case etc if I go the cdj route. Something I do want to do later on...

  • you sound like Weird Al Yankovic

  • mc lovin

  • nice. I always enjoy seeing how other dj's wire up there racks.....

  • @flashanddancedj thanks! I'm liking your vids too !

  • i may have to get one of these - how much did you pay? its a nice unit and I like the video - you really explained everything well!

    dj naveen

  • $250, for sure a good investment in you gear. I decided since I upgrade so many things last year, I need to protect it all better. This thing is very cool.

  • nice video and awesome stuff

  • cool

  • Very good video,Thanks Bro.

    DjBizzyb53

  • Thats why i use Neutrik Powercon plugs...

they can't be pulled out when they are locked

  • good video as always bro got a ? i think i kinda followed ya but basically you run everything of one power lead?? does that not make you nervous??

  • @DjDanInDFW

thats what i have been asking for the past month or so....!

MOSTLY EVERYONE THAT I HAVE SEEN IS RUNNING EVERYTHING OFF OF THEIR POWER CONDITIONER with one plug going to one socket! Look at Mike Flores! he's got all his sound and lights going to his pro2500, and it seems to be working out fine for him.

i hope someone makes a post on what goes on with the power and how to prevent arcing, spiking, or any other problems when it comes to plugging up. ANY ELECTRICIANS OUT THERE?

  • @BOBBYBLENDZ I think one of the main points it to always make sure you're under 15A per circuit. Also now having a voltage reading, if you're at a venue thats only pushing you 115V or 117V you should not push everything as hard as if you had a good 120-122V coming in. I think thats one way of looking at it.

  • @DJDanInDFW If I am running a system with a subwoofer, I still try to have 2 circuits. 1 circuit for the subwoofer and lights. And the other circuit for main speakers and audio equipments. And there is a power conditioner for each circuit. If I have only 1 and need to run all that equipment, I try to run without the sub or keep it at a minimal...and not a chest pumping level =)

  • @DjDanInDFW No, I wouldn't run a mega huge show off on one circuit, but for my average setup, if you add up all the amp's that everything takes, each QSC take aprox 3A, then the only other stuff I run off of it is the mixer and computer, so thats another 1-2 amps, still under 15A. I'll run my lights on another circuit. For a small gig, without sub, I'll run all the lights too, since I'm almost all LED, as long as i'm under 15A its good.

  • Very Nice Review. Might make a change to my set up.

  • How do you like the Numark DJ I/O sound card for the Laptop? And can it be connected to the Laptop via USB?

  • @Huppy105 yeah, its a USB sound card, so it must go to the computer via USB cable. The "rca" cables you see are going to the mixer.

  • 4:55 Oh my God Stef! You are a life saver!

I just picked up my Monster PRO yesterday, and one of the things that I was bummed out about was, because of its size, I am not able to plug in my wd external hd power cord in the bottom row of sockets. also, it takes up two sockets if i plug it in the top socket, and i wanted to keep the front for things like my cell, fan, etc.

Thanks for opening my eyes and stating the obvious!

    bb

ps. i thought i wasn't gonna trip off the lamp, but i love it!

  • @BOBBYBLENDZ have you had the problem since switching to the Moster Pro?

  • @jasperibe I will find out today. It's my first gig since buying it a couple of days ago. I gave it a test run at home yesterday, but wasn't pushing my QSCs as hard as I would at a performance because I didn't want my neighbors to kill me.

  • Very good review! Thanks for sharing...

    Keep'em Movin'

    ~DJ Bo~

  • Steph how do you like this new conditioner compared to the furman

  • well so far i've just installed it, I've got a gig next weekend, so I'll be able to test it out more then. But from what I've seen other DJ's do with it, it had nothing but good comments.

  • wow good to know please let me know how it goes..

  • You've been watching Mikey Mikes vids on the way he secure his chords. he he

I'm sure the monster conditioner is great since the chords they offer are flawless. I was sad to see a lot of the chords dissappear. I use a lot of the 1/4 inch chords I use by them.

    -DJ CD

  • small upgrade thats a big one for me monster power is the best out their i trust monster big time

  • No log on your QSC's? you picked up the K10 or K12?

  • Its coming!! stay tuned :) I want to make a good vid showing them but also comparing why i got the k10's instead of the k12's.

  • Great tips. clean setup. thank you

  • thanks!

  • great video man... very informative.... 5 starz

    +
