  • 7 people are lady gaga fans

  • The originality of these real brothers hasn't been duely recognized. One can notice the Everly Brothers in loads of songs and interpretations that have come up after them.

The unfair face of it is that this is never publicly mentioned by the "followers".

  • I just like music with instrumens :)

  • Such sweet and handsome young men! :)

  • Oh, the sweet darlings!

  • I'm 19. And I am in love with the sound of the Everly Brothers! :D

  • This is great .. but can anybody tell me what the host was meaning when he made fun of Don by saying, "Funny a 20 year old would say his name in the first place" ... what the heck was he meaning .. I just cannot figure it .. it was kind of a jerk to them it seems .. talking down to them ..unless it can be explained .. and they did not smile because they were not plastic .. they were cool & laid back .. James Dean style ....

  • @funguy4utube I believe the host is Julius LaRosa....I think he meant to say "age" instead of "name" I agree, it

    makes no sense otherwise!

  • Definitely, the best and ever unmatched version of this song.

  • as soon as that guitar chord started they made the host look like a moron

  • wow. i wish i could have been young in the 50's...

  • Wow , they are truly everly

  • My Daddy sings this and so it is one that was basically a lullabye for me as a small child... Love the Everly Brothers... Thanks goodness (And my Daddy!) for a wide range of exposure to music!!! He sings it to my children now, and they love it too!

  • how cute "bill everly i'm 18 years old"...these guys kill! if only this music was real today <3

  • Ahh love this kinda music!! they certainly dont make it like they used to! Am a 22yr old guy btw, who can listen to this all day...Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Nat King Cole...classics!!

  • gr8

  • Was born in 81. Cant find good music like this these days. all we get is lady gaga and justin beiber...pure slut music. Im going to learn this song on my acustic and keep the legend alive.

  • born in 47 i was 9 when this song came out and i liked it then and now too ps i am 63 now !

  • i love them ,,,,,

  • If u didn't know it. u maybe have guesst this song was made just a few years ago. It never get out of style!

  • man i really love this song even im from the 80,s i didnt know who were the singers now i know Everly brothers great are they still alive?

  • @jimmysuperb Yupp. I think they're in their 70's now. I'm pretty sure they're still performing, too maybe.

  • That show host was a jerk.

  • ANOTHER GREAT INSPIRATION FOR THE BEATLES OR ROLLING STONES!! But actually, theses guys inspired the Beach Boys. :)

  • super

  • i thought they were twins! they are so in sync

  • I was 17 when this song was released. :-) I LOVED the fifties! Makes me quite nostalgic to watch this stuff. I'm pleased the younger folk are enjoying this music too. I'm building a website where we can all share our favourites from that era. Thanks for uploading this video clip! (Cape Town)

  • It's really bad when you have The Everly Brothers and Metallica in the same play list.

  • Bad text(

  • There were more amazing artis then just elivis under this interesting time

  • What a joy to relive those days when we were young and danced to this music. A fan forever.

  • This was great stuff back then. I still love it. Thanks

  • These guys right here are some of the best 50's musicians

  • They were like The Righteous Brothers without the dirty whores and cocaine...

  • want have text......

  • I absolutely love The Everly Brothers. My grandparents brought me up on this type of music. I adore it. It's so much better than most of the crap out today. :)

  • I´ve seen them live, playing with Simon and Garfunkel...

  • Love this song!

  • They are amazing gosh knows why people would rather listen to some rapper with a dumb name and even worse music over them.

  • can you tell me why there are no posting of that's old fashion by the everly bros?

  • They're the best! Good old Kentucky boys! Everybody tried to copy their harmonies!

  • Bye-bye paste, bye-bye yuckiness. So long ooziness, I thought I was gonna cry.

Bye-bye paste, bye-bye yuckiness. Hello happiness, give Sea Bond a try, come on give Sea Bond a try!

  • Otimo ...

    francinildo ...

  • Hmmm....wonder who the Beatles were listening to.........

  • @scottelliottmusic

    DING DING DING

    we have a winner.

  • @CCRockit Yeah....it bugs me how everyone thinks the Beatles invented everything with music. All they did was rip off Everely bros. Buddy Holly and the Beach Boys....then they discovered Dylan and other American acts to take from. Oh well, doesn't' take away from how beautiful this music is.

  • @scottelliottmusic

    Its not really ripping off

i mean theres not really a similarity besides the vocals are similar

  • @CCRockit Its the type of music where the focus is on vocal and melody. That was the pop style in the 50's and thats what the Beatles did. The Beatles were more traditionally minded in their song writing, drawing from the vocal forward acts from previous decades. Take Buddy Holly music and throw Ev. Bros harmonies and a touch of Chuck Berry and you have the first 40 or so Beatles songs. Their harmonies is what got them their record deal with George Martin. He said their first songs were bad.

  • @scottelliottmusic Well put! You know your history!

  • @scottelliottmusic thats not true the beatles are way way way better but everly bros are good

  • @0007mgs Better is opinion. Utilizing parallel thirds in harmonies is a fact. The Everly Bros. did it first, so the Beatles vocal sound, which is the main stay of the entire Beatles sound, is highly derivative. There are tracks the ONLY sing on. What someone likes better is neither her nor their. I just think the Beatles get too much credit as pioneers, where really they were taking bits of other acts and repackaging it with squeaky clean cute faces for the teeny-boppers and their parents.

  • @0007mgs I agree with you, the beatles are much better, but this boys are very good, rocking those days

  • I was too young to know this song on the top chart, but the song/music safely kept in my head. When then i firstly heard (1980's) instantly i love it, and felt as if i ever lived with it

  • I was born way to late XD The music today is so much worse than this song.

  • Oh Wow and that was Julius LaRosa introducing them...

  • I was in about the 6th grade when they came on the scene! I went NUTS, thought they were so cute. Showing my age!

  • How cute are they? I 've loved them since I was 11..in !957!

  • I am a metal head (i.e. Megadeth, Judas Priest, ACDC, Black Sabbath, etc.), I was born in the early 70's, and I absolutely LOVE the Everly Brothers sound. They are great!!!!

  • The Everly's are great song writters

    Don and Phil kick ass

  • I am an old man now, but in 1957 I was fifteen years old. I loved the Everelys. As Rockabrotas commented they were the image of innocence of the fifties and we shall never see it again until we stand before our maker.

  • Wow, so young. Wonderful.

  • wow how young! this was a real treat to watch thank you for posting it.

  • "This was the first Everly Brother song I dance to in 1957. The floor was vibrating so much underfoot, any moment it could have collapsed."

  • I'm 15, my favorite band is Nirvana, and grunge rock is my preferred style of music. That said, I love these guys and this kind of music. Timeless.

  • I agree my fav band is also Nirvana but man these guys are good, they sing great. These guys, along with the righteous brothers and sorry to say Kurt are all timeless classic performers. Kurt R.I.P. would be 43 right now ...wow that means I'm old.

  • THAT is real music!!!

I hope this sort of music will come back!

  • anyone know the chords they're playing? including the intro?

  • True music talent!

  • This is TRUELY Great Performances by two really Great Guys..There sound is 2rd to NONE....Please let me also say that the music kids make now a days like RAP ''''' I CANT STAND It ""!!! It reminds me of a bunch of Monkeys walking down the street and with there pants half down like a baby with loaded diaper.

  • True these kids need to pull up there pants!

  • @Eyan1818 Ya know it isnt much Rap...it has really died...about 5 yrs ago it was huge...not anymore...its pop kinda crap synthsisers and shit like that...fake stuff...

  • THEY WILL BE GREAT FOVERER!!!

  • huere geils lied

  • how old were there

  • Don was 20 and Phil was 18.They said so at the beginning.Nice looking guys!

  • they are still great.

  • I remember listening to this on my dad's cassette when I was growing up. I'm 30 but I sure miss the songs of yesteryear.

  • @sweetpopz - I have the channel for yesteryear, with playlists for every year back to 1900. I just added this to 1957's list. Each one is a cyberalbum!

Come take a musical trip back in time! 300 artists each have a playlist too, and the Everly list is being made tonight. They play up to 2 hours each.

  • doesn't have to get any better than this for me.

  • can you say two geniuses? I believe you can.

  • i love this kinda stuff very very awsome

  • I love the comments on this video. I'm so glad to hear that some young people appreciate the Everlys and their classic, unbeatable (especially by today's standards) sound!

  • Are you kidding me i grew up on these guys many thanks to my mum though she used to play them all day and i will jsut beat drums using my toothbrush lol. those were fun days.

  • @justmusicandme i love them

  • @justmusicandme

I remember listening to them my 8 track player as a teenager, I'm 35 now and still love listening to them.

  • @Grampy1975 : We BOTH have good taste in music. I like our old 8 track - It always sounded so much better in the car than the cassettes and cd's that followed. I wish I had kept all those 8 track cassettes!

  • @justmusicandme I'm so thankful for my mom and her record player! lol I know all these oldies and it was just a simpler time in music and in my opinion a much better time!

  • @greeneyeslinz There must be some reason that so many people are nostalgic about those days. I think it has a lot to do with the music. You could always find something GOOD to listen to on the radio!

  • Perfection!

  • Why does no one have a studio version of this song.. It's ridiculous

  • I wish artists would sing like this nowadays. I missed out by being born in the 90s. The Everly Brothers were amazing. ;D

  • @Chiwowwow2 I'm on the same exact boat. I'm on a doowop kick right now, and I'm getting some weird looks around campus. hahaha

  • @Chiwowwow2 comments like this piss me off, who cares when you were born

  • @Chiwowwow2 well I'm 48 and even I missed out, but it makes me feel great that their music is appreciated by your age group... keep on rockin

  • @Chiwowwow2

Well , I was a very young boy when this song came out and in those days all you had was the radio for many people- and not even FM. Its wonderful that with technology today(ie You Tube) people can enjoy the music as if it they were there anyway..I remember that you waited with anticipation as the classics rolled out year after year in the 50s and 60s. Very exciting- the air was electric- the mood very much defined by these talented artists and songwriters.

  • @Chiwowwow2 start a band.

  • Julius La Rosa was such a condescending asshole, with nowhere the talent as the Everly Bros.

  • i wonder who was the other artist they mentioned at the end of the video?

  • I like this live version because it is more true to the original released singe. In later years, the Everlys slightly modified their own arrangement, and I liked the original version best.

  • Brings me back to when I was little.. I wish we had more artists like The Everly Brothers!!

  • "I think Pat Boone is old enough to be their grandfather" lol.

I'm 18 and I think it really sucks that more people my age don't know or appreciate this type of music, and The Everly Brothers.

I grew up with Elvis but I never really explored any other '50s artists until my grandma introduced me to Ricky Nelson. and then I found the Everly Brothers by watching an infomercial for one of those golden oldies CD packages. and I'm really glad I did, because the Everly Brothers are fantastic.

  • im 19 and i used to have a cd back when i was 6 or 7 all 50s music and im still in love with it

  • I sang this song in chorus class last year and I'm just in love with it. haha, I'm 15 and my favorite music is from the 50s. normal? lol

  • we are unique all over the world, ILuveTeeAreVee XD I'm 15 and i'm a Everly huge freak , glad to know i' not the only one who is 15 and loves this song so much lol.

  • Crap! Why is it there are always. Shoulder-Climbers. Who need another set of bone`s, to deliver somwebody else`s Mail??? The Everly Bros were uniq. They were 1957. ::::::::::Everything Began again in :::: Is it not ridiculous? They forgot to wait for you???

  • any single christian girls that love this music

  • im 13 and i love this song too!

  • Brings back many good memories when America was still innocent and healthy!!!!!

  • omg i'm 17 and I LOVE THIS SONG TOO.

    brings back memories

  • im 18 and i love this music

  • saya senang lagu ini....

  • love this song

  • one is born 1937. and other is 1939.

    long ago...

  • Does anyone else hear the girl screaming through the whole song.

I do not blame her it is a good song.

    woooh for the everly brothers

  • No, it is just a figment of your imagination. lol

  • how many years ago was this from 2009?

  • That Song Was On The Sea Bond Commercial

  • Those suits are rockin'

  • Such a happy tune for kinda sad lyrics. After listening to their songs, I'd have to call them the original emo kids. Not bad at all, though; I like their songs a lot.

  • In the end, the voice-over is talking about a new performer with a "frenzied" style.

    Who was that performer??

  • Prolly talkin bout Elvis

  • Elvis was already on the scene for over a year, so I am guessing it may have been Jerry Lee Lewis, whose first hit, "Whole Lot Of Shakin' Goin On," debuted on the charts about a month after Bye Bye Love.

  • that's right...very "frenzied" on that ole piano.

  • You have to remember that this documentary was made many years later so the "minor" detail that Elvis had already had a hit or two was not their point. They were merely contrasting the impending Elvis "storm" and to a degree the related controversy with the Everlys more palatable style for parents.

  • perfecto mondo

  • rory blackwell wrote that song and recorded it in the very early fifties. never got to the charts so they covered it. fantastic song

  • Bye Bye Love was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. Rory Blackwell recorded his version in England about the same time as the Everlys recorded theirs (both in March, 1957) in the USA.

  • The Bryants ultimately had their biggest successes writing for the Everly Brothers and were in a sense the writing team for the brothers. The fact that another many other artists recorded their songs does not diminsh their great work for the brothers where they had their greatest chart successes.

  • So many other artists have recorded the Bryants' many songs with those recordings lost to the past and long since forgotten, but the Bryants will always be associated with these two who made so many of their songs hits.

  • prefer the older version asim a 53yr woman.

  • No those were Gibson J-180's I believe

  • wow

  • aaaah! SO CUTE!..hehe. They are so adorable! I love the way they sing together:)

  • OHhh Myyy I was born in 57'..LOL They had alot of Great Classic songs. My parents would listen to them and I heard all their songs growing up!!

  • were their guitars made of steel?
