That's at the bottom of Roseville ave. I've always wondered about that place. It's still just like that. It's like a wasteland. The owner should clean it up.
ill bet there are still salvagable tugboat hulls that could be gotten for free...make great liveaboards--i would love to go there and spend the day looking around
When I was like 13 I went around abandoned places on Staten Island and just filmed them. Shit was so cash. I probably have the recording laying around somewhere.
@SoRedtheRose do you know if they sank them deliberatly for diving reefs? or did they just sink where they were on staten island??...most of those vessels would be sold for scrap. but some might be still serviceable...one mans junk...another mans treasure..
so much history in that place...if only those old boats could talk...
@porpoisefathom ironically most of them are owned by a scrap yard. some could be salvages and some are just to far to be rebuilt. theres all kinds of boats there and motors.
@sarahmariexox cant thank you enough! Im hoping to visit there this summer--- im looking for a specific item. probably a place like this may still have it and it will be a peice of history. Send me an email--ill tell you more about it if your interested...one persons junk-anothers treasure..!!!
@sarahmariexox restore it...get it running, and put it in a smaller tug...If you know the owner..perhaps you could give him/her a heads up that ill be calling...?
@porpoisefathom i do not know the owner personally. im pretty sure they will be glad to get rid of some of the parts to someone who is going to do a nice thing and restore it. give them a call and see what they say. you might need a kayak to get to the vessels themselves though.
I wouldnt mind a boat from there. our county could use one of those ferries.

So sad. Here in Washington State we are working on an old Coast Guard Tug saved from the Scrap yard. It will be a floating Museum.

Great video. What a museum of classic tugs. Better they rest here than be broken up and destroyed.

While I have no plans to try, I would love to look around there for a few hours. I bet there's a lot of history rotting away there.
