  • @pogwo1968 and @BrooklynChivalry - I remember these shows from those channels too and they're some of my most chershed memories from childhood. I dearly wish that television could go back to these simpler and more entertaining times. I despise reality TV and more than one court show really is too much.

  • you know what would be kool if they made bat man beyound into a movie .,.....adam west could play bruce wayne and justin biber could play terry mginnis

  • I remember back in the 70's when WPIX showed this Batman show at 4pm which was followed by the Adventures of Superman at 4:30pm then followed by the Lone Ranger at 5pm. Batman was only on for 30 minutes back then which I found to be more intriguing than the hour long presentations. I wish someone had the tv ads from back then.

  • @pogwo1968 They need to put Batman on at 4 AND 4:30 pm now!!!!!! ENOUGH OF THIS COURT ROOM CRAP!!!

  • @pogwo1968

Wow, you remember that Batman/Superman/Lone Ranger block, too?! That was during the mid-70s, about the same time Lost In Space was on WNEW channel 5 and Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea was on WOR 9 - back when TV was worth watching!

  • @BrooklynChivalry

TV was worth watching back then....It was my watching Batman in that 70's time period that I still view the show seriously, at least on an action level, not the campy level that everybody talks about. I remember Lost in Space on Channel 5 but I never knew Voyage To the Bottom Of The Sea was on Channel 9, interesting.

  • At 0:13 there's an error: that villain is called Chandell, not Fingers.

  • @7Lightening

They were twin brothers, one a musician, one a gangster, both crooks

  • @BrooklynChivalry Chandell's twin wasn't called Fingers either. His name was Harry.

  • I remember Batmania in the late 80's. That was a really fun time.

  • @jayce79:-

You know, you're right, it was. Batman was HUGE again and it was a good time to be a) a Batman fan, which I was and b) six years old, which i was also.

  • When I was a kid we didn't have a TV, but we lived in an apartment over some friends that had one. Their daughter always wanted to watch "Lost in Space" on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. Guess what I wanted to watch? There was more than 1 fight. We moved away shortly though, and got a color TV.

  • I watched the original 23 years before this. Ouch.

  • Its kinda sad 1. That out of all the movies that came in teh later years they only used a few villans....again and again.

    2. That adam west is teh only one remembered haha....

  • Did you guys know that the guy who played Mr. Freeze also voiced Shere Khan in The Jungle Book?

  • Holy Rouges Gallery!! The 60's batman show had the greatest collection of villans ever thwarted by only two heroes!! This show will be in our hearts forever!!!

  • 0:28 - 0:29

    Now, that's acting =)

  • I remember I used to watch this back in the summer of '91 everyday at like 1pm in Memphis right before my nap. ( I was only 5 ok lol

  • Awesome memories. ^^

  • i remember comin home every weekday from school back in 1989, to watch this on channel 11. if i remember correctly back in 1989 i think they had back to back episodes of Batman on WPIX or PIX 11(like its known now) because of teh bat-craze of 1989 due to the Burton movie.

  • Gotta love the high pitched "batmaaaan" voices in the background!

  • I was born in 1989! :]]

  • Is that Vincent Price as Egghead? I have to see that!

  • I miss the days of local broadcasting. You know, back when one of the crew of the local news or whomever would do a chiller theater on Friday nights? Everything's so corporate now.

    Anyhow, thanks for posting this!

  • Adam WEEEEST Adam WEEEEEEEEST Adam WEEEEST....*whispers* Adam Weeeeeeest Adam weeeest

  • riddle me this! Can anyone else in hollywood pull off the acting of the caped crusader?

  • I liked Penguin, Joker, and Black Widow

  • egg head???

  • egg head was cool...catwoman, riddler of course

  • If I recall correctly, WPIX didnt air Batman for long before pulling it off the air. Sigh. I grew up in the 1970s watching syndicated reruns of classic tv shows, which they would air for YEARS on the local channels. But by the mid-80s, little by little they were removed from the free airwaves. A few times they would bring some classic tv shows back on the air, but would yank them off the air within months, even weeks. And after making such a big deal with their promos about airing them again.

  • I clearly recall WPIX ran Batman from September 1989 through the '89-'90 season. I know because I videotaped them all! :)

  • Oh, I know that. But to me thats not long. In the 1970s, they would air reruns of classic tv shows for YEARS. Gilligans Island and Brady Bunch are two examples that come to mind. One tv season isnt much.

  • I remember WPIX had Batman on in the 70s and early 80s before WNEW/WNYW snatched the show up. When Batman Returns was released in theaters, Channel 11 brought the Batman hour back at 9am, but only for the Summer of 92.

  • Sigh I do actually used to watch this at 4 in the morning. lol But then it went off the air and I was really sad. I loved this.

    "Bam"

    "Wap"

    "ZLOP!"

    I mean really. lol

  • fuck, I just remembered the proposed Two-Face for this: Clint Eastwood as a news anchor disfigured when a TV explodes in his face.

  • "ZLOPP!"?

  • ZLOPP!?! haha

  • Is this the promo used for the "Batman" reruns when it went into syndication in September 1969?

  • No. I believe this is from the early 90s when it aired on WPIX-11 in NY.

  • .....is that... is that Vincent Price as Egghead?

oh god... this list of supervillains... so bad... lol...

  • I think he did play egghead, yes

  • LMAO at 0:28

  • I freaked as a kid when I saw that Bat Man was coming to WPIX!

  • Is there two-face.

  • Nope. He would've been too gruesome for that show's lighthearted tone, I think.

  • check out batmans face at 0:28

  • OMG! I know! lmao!

  • I remember this promo back when I was living in Southern Connecticut!! Childhood memories never die!!

  • The fools making the batman movies these days could really, REALLY learn something from watching this clip. I am being serious.

  • The 'fools' making the batman movies these days are making it in the way the artists envisioned. The Batman TV show, while fun and campy, bore very little resemblance to the original comic book version.

  • Oh no, watch out everyone! Attack of the overweight fanboy! Ok ok, cool your jets there honcho... no need to get offended, ok? I just feel that there are a lot of great characters that are untapped and we are just getting the same ones over, and over and over again. Is this not true? And, Jesus Christ... it was a 60's TV show... could it NOT be campy? Honestly, is that possible?

  • Overweight? You betcha. Fanboy? Now that is going too far.

  • Then I take it back, sorry. Have a good one.

  • lord fog ftw

  • Why don't they use some of those villians in the new Batman flicks?

  • cha, egghead would PWN!!!

  • Yeah man. They got a million fuckin Batman episodes and they keep using the same ones, Joker, Riddler, 2face, Penguin, Catwoman. Recycling old villians, I'm tired of it. Egghead would fucking pwn.

  • this oculd be the start of a beutiful friendship

  • Yeah maybe. Lets contact the Chris Nolan and tell him that if he is gonna do another Batman movie that he better fucking used Egghead, or else.

  • he has stated that he wants to use some of the lesser known villains, on a serious note though, its gotta be riddler and/or harley quin

  • Why does it gotta be? It doesn't gotta be? Its just gonna be how it is.

  • cos riddler n harley quin pwn, DUH!

  • Yeah but Egghead could fuck up the little pussy Riddler if he was given a chance, bu the isn't.

  • oh shush, egg head would get smashed if he got in riddlers way, one bop with the can and boom...they wont b able to put him together again...

  • WHAT? Riddler is a little puss. He didn't even know how to punch a man and when he tried, it didn't do anything. Egghead would demolish Riddler. Twoface as well. Penguin couldn't even do much to him. Catwoman might have a chance cuz she is flexible and fast and whatnot, but the rest of those guys would get annihilated.

  • what are his powers?

  • does anyone actually know ALL the villans?

  • Ceasar Romero is the best joker ever. The rest were good. Just ask Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.

  • ZLOPP!

  • I remember when they aired the marathon. I watched it in my uncle's basement in Jersey City I believe around Christmastime.

  • :08, who is with the Joker?

  • His "Martian" henchman Verdigris.

  • Oh, I watched all those on botlegDVD in bout three weeks so they blended together alot

  • Ceasar Romero.I did a Batman episode that he was in,they were on location in Redondo Bch and needed some surfers. He was one funny guy.

  • lol

  • At least the Batman TV show had villains from the comics. George Reeves' Superman show always had petty criminals and low lifes, never wearing tights. Just Bugsy and his crew robbing a diamond or somethin. Used too piss me off man!

  • Ceasar Romero was thee ultimate Joker, makeup and all.

  • APPLES INTO APPLESAUCE

  • ZLOPP? where's kaflibble?

  • Where's Flbbbb?

  • 2day, this sux, back then IT OWNED!!But it suxed at the same time......LOL!!

  • egghead = Vincent Price!!??

    FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • this show was great do you guys notice how the powers that be are trying to ruin comeic movies be makeing them for thoses who dont like comics kinda duming them down and jocking them up for the comman man.

  • LMAO 0:28,Batman's reaction!!!

  • I hope that this weekend will mark the 60th anniversary of WPIX-TV since it first hit the airwaves back in 1948. It was a great station for its time.

  • Only the evil feminists were able to capture Batman, Robin and Batgirl together, and put them into a siemese knot because women always could embroider better than men.

  • Lord Fog?

    holy fuck!!

  • NYC Channel 11, still tops!!

  • That's what you get for not killing your enemies, Batman. Everyone wants to mess with you.

  • Where is Two Face? The scarecrow? Two of the best villians were not on the show, what I want to know is WHY

  • I heard that Two Face was too gruesome looking, thats why they never put him on the show.

  • wow, i didnt know Mad Hatter was in the Adam West series. It would have been awesome if they had Two Face.

  • Mad Hatter was great on this show. he had this hat that opened up and had these two eyes-light things that hypnotized people LOL!

  • Stop at 00:17 it's mr.freeze/Dr.Evil!

  • looks scary

  • no doubt TV has lost alot of its class since those days!

  • ZLOPP!! haha

  • Bookworm and Egghead :P

  • Wow, I remember watching that one a long time ago, it as a great guide to Batman villains.

  • Yay! the Batman hour!

  • yay! the batman hour!

  • so who els is waiting for adam west to go senial and well yeah you get the picture, hes great on family guy lmoa

  • 00:22 Clock King! My favorite villain!

  • Damn, I remember all this like it was yesterday (now that i've scene it again). I used to watch Batman on WPIX 11. We got the channel on our cable system (Sammons or Twin County). Now with Directv I don't get any NY channels, only Philly.

  • the way they set it up was batman and robin Monday thru Thursday and then Batman and Robin with Batgirl episode was always on Friday if I remember correctly. I'm remembering it on like 4:30-ish?

  • WPIX (back when their nickname was "11 Alive") was a part of my weekday afternoon after school in the 1970s. Who could forget their awesome lineup of Batman, The Adventures of Superman, and The Lone Ranger?
