  • head coverings r a tradition not a commandment 4 women and they r not mentioned in the Torah as haveing 2 be worn at all.

  • to truly under stand and know is hard to explain in some ways but we do it because it is a honor to god a tribute of respect if you will. To really under stand you have to see it through our eyes for some things you just cant explain

  • I think, we do it because we feel that it's the right thing and we want to wear a covering. My church requires it only during the worship service, but outside of the church we can do as we wish. I chose to cover most of the time, but not at work, because I don't want to look different.

  • If your husband is your head and your husbands Head is the Word, you both should have no problem with this: (KJV)1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

  • a woman's covering was her husband. God gave us hair as covering so when that scripture was taught it meant cant pray with out your covering "male" i can show this to you easily in the bible

  • in prayer yes, but we are also tod to pray without ceasing

  • RELIGION WAS CREATED MY MEN TO CONTROL WOMEN AND HAVE CONTROL OVER EVERYTHING. JESUS HATED RELIGION. THATS WHY HE DID NOT RESPECT THE PHARISEES (PHAROAH) PAGAN LAWS "PH" PHHHAROIC WORSHIP, UHHHMMM

  • SO ACCORDING TO TO RGHT TRANSLATIONS OF THESE SCRIPTURES THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION IS "NO!'

  • A woman who is bald needs to have a covering on her head.

1 Corinthians 11:6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

A woman praying or prophesying needs to wear a cover also.

1 Corinthians 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

  • @malikzzzzz wow where do I begin first of all the scriptures were not translated correctly if you go to GODS WORD TO WOMEN DOT ORG you can see the many errors in the translations and who made them? male scholars or were they mistakes that they mistranslated them? also they are many male and female scholars who disagree with the translations. this is why I suggest that website..also the OT describes a lot of injustices to the women so why even go to what they did in that time

  • Comment removed

  • also the old testament shows that many of the prophets wives would cover themsleves when a man would come into the room. one should also look to the torah to find information about modesty.

  • @lizzieworld13 the OT descibes a lot of injustices towards women..doesnt mean that we have to grovel everytime a man comes in the room. and there are many scholars who disagree with the translations form the greek and hebrew text so who is to say the oppressive version is correct? there is a lot of info on gods word to women dot org

  • @fanoflittleman why does covering have to part of the "oppressive version"

  • @lizzieworld13 first t comes from an incorrect translation and the reason for having it is oppressive..we havent been given the right translations..and why does everyone sepnd their whole life trying to tell women what to do in the name of GOD? that alone is oppressive..wehave our own relationship with God we dont need anyone debating over it

  • WHY DO SO CALLED CHRISTIANS SPEND THEIR WHOLE LIFE TELLING WOMEN WHAT THEY CAN AND CANT DO INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT THEIR OWN SALVATION AND LEAVING IT BETWEEN HER AND HER CREATOR!!!!!! IF A WOMAN DOES SOMETHING GOD DOESNT WANT HER TO DO GOD WILL LET HER KNOW. WORRY ABOUT YOUR OWN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!

  • @fanoflittleman this is a way of ministering. there are many issues people dicuss regarding God , people spend their whole lives spreading what they believe God message is to us. If someone states what Paul or another prophet says, dont get discruntle. do u feel the same way when u read the bible.

  • @lizzieworld13 how is oppressing women "ministering"? why do I have to cover head because im in mans" image? first of all God said in Genesis he created male and female in HIs image..uhhhmmm, and no one wants to real other translations from scholars? is it so hard to beleive that God didnt say these oppressive things about women?there are explanations ya know?

  • @lizzieworld13 and the old jewish laws were based on kabalism and the babylonian talmud so why would you even mention how they treated women in tha time? serpent has always kept women down so he can rule to earth..male aggresiveness (flesh) instead of female nurturing, love(spirit)

  • @fanoflittleman the laws prescribed in the bible, were created by God

  • @lizzieworld13 youre not listening, the translations are not the same with every scholar and have different meanings, youve followed so much you cant even fathom that those oppressive versions are incorrect, btw. king james was kinights of malta (lueceferian) who is to say his scholars interpreted the Bible correctly, why are you so ready to be a weak female?

  • @fanoflittleman I really just have to say (as a non-conservative Bible believing woman) that women who do believe in covering their hair while they pray and worship God (and perhaps all the time) are not 'weak females'. They are just as strong willed as women who don't cover their hair. It's just a small way they can glorify God in their lives. There's something so beautiful about that. I honestly want to cover my hair too even though I wasn't raised to, and that's not because I'm weak.

  • @fanoflittleman most women cover their head due to modesty, paul in addition in the new testament believes in a woman wearing to show her position in society. Women are below their husband in the ranking of the family unit, so some women choose to show submission, or that they are married and their beauty is only for their husbands. no one is debating, this video is about different scriptures, if you dont observe all the scripture, or believe God wrote it, thats you.

  • @lizzieworld13 interesting, instead of discussions on what the men should be doing everyone spends endless hours on women being submissive to males which isnt Gidly anyway. you can only serve one master and women are taught to make idols of the men and the women and men will be judged for that..so lets have discussions on what the men should be doing in the Church coz i see a lot of single women with kids who arent being taken care of etc

  • @lizzieworld13 and again those translations arent even correct so why is this nonsene about women being subservient still continuing? this think about the woman wearing a hair covering for the husband is nonsense..first everyone is saying its to show reverence to God and as I have said before this always shows that its not about God but about women making the husband her master, its not even about God, its showing subservience to the males.you can only serve one master!

  • LADIES..GODS WORD TO WOMEN DOT ORG

  • @lizzieworld13 WAIT A MINUTE, i said there are different translations and they say a totally different thing on this subject, no one bothers to do any research because the men love to think that they are number one with God and the women have always followed so they dont make any waves or called names. seems just following anything someone tells you tather then really finding out what God meant..interesting, but typical with a lot fo women in the Church..have you ever heard a sermon on Deborah

  • and to answer I would say no because women have been kept from "speaking in Church" and the male pastors wont teach that a woman was a judge and told men what to do or that she could reason logically

  • no they are not required

head was covered only in corinth

    only there

the Bible says that you have to have at least 2 witnesses for every thing

and the head covering was written only to the church in corinth

because of their specific situiation with prostitutes

learn before you want to teach

head covering paul talked about was only in prayer, woman

  • @Malwina77ful 1 Cor 11 also talks about commmunion.Since you believe that the headcovering only applied to the Corinthian church, I persume you also believe that communion only applied to them also?

Why do you believe that different rules would apply to only one church and not all the others?

  • @LachaFliuch

Your RIGHT!!! They DONT apply to only one church... They apply to the ENTIRE body of Christ, they apply throughout time and are NOT cultural or customs... Jesus the same yesterday as today and tomorrow... He is the word of God and His word NEVER changes... "Malvina77ful" has not learned of the truth that you have... It is okay... Keep fighting the good fight...

You are also RIGHT about long hair... It is the woman's GLORY... Her hair is NOT her covering...

    AMEN

    Brother Stephen

  • @Malwina77ful exactly Malwina..they spend their whole life telling women what they can and cant do instead of actually ministering to people and accomplishing something

  • @Malwina77ful The headcovering was written for the church in Corinth because they were the only ones that were NOT following it. Everyone else was. Paul was chastising the church for not wearing the covering. We are to pray without ceasing-to always be ready to pray. I pray continuously throughout the day, so I cover all the time. It's something I prayed about, and the Holy Spirit gave me a very clear YES. I may not like it all the time, but I do what the Lord says to do, not what I want.

  • Hes saying for a woman not to cut their hair

    Hes saying be a woman

Just as he says its an abomination for a woman to wear a mans clothing

    Hope this helps

  • I appreciate your sencerity to the word but read it again, he uses the word cover and hair interchangably

  • I CORINTHIANS 11:15 15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for [her] hair is given her for a covering.

  • I'm so used to being different that though sometimes I hate being 'alone' I don't let it get to me. I think of how Jesus was not respected, not loved, not accepted by MOST of His own people, so I should expect the same from other Christians who are not walking the narrow path. The attitude that I get the most is that ot's not about clothing, that people like me are only Christian 'on the outside'-as if we're hiding our sins.It hurts because I'm striving by God's grace to be holy.

  • @jonesfullhouse I'm so used to being different that though sometimes I hate being 'alone' I don't let it get to me. • The Bible also says raise holy hands and not all Christians obey that. It also says to give each other the holy kiss and I know there are places where this is carried out but how about between the sexes? Would it say holy if it were just between the men or just between the women? You say, ewww, that's disgusting and yet you say the veiling is necessary. How about this one, do not invite your family or friends over for a meal but invite those on the street? I think you pick and choose here.

  • I really support you! I started wear a headcovering recently! You go girl! :D

  • @TheKenny4292 look in teh greek on biblos.com - the greek word for covering when it speaks of hair is diffrent that the one that is used whn it says we should ocver our heads. Also examin verse 6. It says if a women doenst cover her head let her be shorn. SO if teh covering is our hair- is it saying if a woman is not coverd( no hair-bald_ let her be shorn! so if a woman is bald shave her head? NO its speaking of 2 types of coverings.

  • Its Gods Word and that Settles it!!

  • Thank you.Oh, thank you. I've done this since 2002 and I'm the only one in my church who does. It's always great to have others of the same conviction.

  • These verses also refer to head coverings and some to even wearing a veil:

    Genesis 24: 65

Isaiah 3: 23 This one talks about articles of clothing. Read the chapter for a better understanding.

    1 Corr 11: 6

  • In Christianity, head coverings or veils are neither a doctrine nor commandment but a disciplinary rule. Therefore it is not necessary. A women is free to wear or not wear a veil. Many choose not to simply because it is not necessary. God doesn't judge a women's modesty based on whether they have a veil or not. Many female saints wore no head covering but were just as modest (I.e. Joan of Arc was a female warrior of God, carrying a sword and riding a horse!).

  • @Archangelicque but i thought they were just supposed to wear it while they prayed right? I mean, I'm sure Joan of Arc covered her hair whilst in the Church, because that was the old custom. but who knows.

  • Very nicely done. Clear and to the point.

  • Well done

  • @TheKenny4292 that's ok.You are entitled your own belief on the matter.Thank you watching and commenting though.

  • @TheKenny4292 1 Cor 11 also mentions the communion.Do you consider the communion to be a cultural custom also?

  • Thank you for a turthful video!! May the Lord richly bless you!!

  • I just have one question. Do we need to wear something close to a hijab or is just a wrapping of the hair is fine? I wrap my hair and dress modest but you can still see my neck. So is that wrong?

  • @blessedwithapurpose Hi, I doesn't mention in the bible to cover one's neck, just one's hair so I presume that a hijab is not necessary-- however there are various Christian groups that do wear coverings akin to hijabs: Orthodox Christians, Old Believer Christians.

  • @LachaFliuch I cant find it in I Cor 11 that the headcovering is just to cover the hair. It does state that the hair is given for a covering, and that the hair is the woman's glory. But that only INFERS that the covering is to only cover the hair. It does not outright state how large the covering is to be. However, the Greek word used is katakalupto, which means "to cover down." A cap does not "cover down," not even as the natural hair does. History shows the church used to cover far more.

  • @daffodyllady Hi, I agree.Early depictions of Christian woman have women with a long veiling rather than a cap. Some of the cap coverings have become see through and small.

  • The Word simply says to cover the head. It does not say to cover the hair. It is a modern interpretation perpetuated by traditions that make the actual commandments of God of none effect.

  • @LachaFliuch I am orthodox christian and we have to be covered to go into church. If you look at the eritrean or ethiopian orthodox churches w e are always fully coverd when we go to church. Our mothers are always coverd at home or going out. Some ppl think it is culture to cover but our culture comes from our orthodox faith for a woman to be dressed modest and i love it.

  • beautiful video and proud of you for posting these verses from the holy bible. Women should cover their hair as is told in the bible not only for their act to God but also for their respect and modesty.

  • God bless you, LachaFliuch, for covering your head as the Bible commands ladies to do.

  • Another very nice vid....Your doing a great job!

  • Thank you for your video, i wasn't sure what you meant by the head equals the hair. Diana

  • @dianatyree @dianatyree Hi Diana,

    1 Cor 11:6 says:

If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.

Which implies that the hair on the head represents the spirtual head.It also says that if a woman does not want to shave her hair off them she should cover her physical head instead (ie- the hair).I hope that makes more sense.

  • another great video thank you for sharing... I posted it to my Face Book wall... Peace be with you

  • @TheVeiledCatholic I am glad you like it.

  • excellent point @ :45 about there being no other alternative symbol to a physical cover

  • @VeiledGlory thank you.

  • Thanks yet agin for another great vid on tis too neglected topic. I really do appreiate it. I would just like to add, if I may, thaht unmarried women don't just cover for God but also to honor their fathers and spiritual leaders in authority. I make mention of that because some people say it's only required for wives. It's required for all Christian women. Thanks so very much.

  • @NewMeNow2000 I am pleased to hear you liked my video.
