That first match was hard to watch. Seems like Rom and Hsien were both just lost against certain Viper mixups, mainly seismo chains. Rom could have u2'd any of those seismo's, which I'm sure he realized right after the match. Viper definitely does well against the twins.

Pre-Valle encounter in Alpha 3 tourney, he used Akuma/Gouki a lot (especially when V-Ism became popular). In 3S his main was Ken (because apparently fireballs weren't that good in 3S) and due to low forward > fireball combo for footsies, that's why he was Ryu in SSFIV. I don't know ALL the details, obviously, but as for AE Yun was obvious choice due to lunge punches being epic in this game...

@Nafly2K9 meaty is hitting basically during the last active frames of an attack so in this case right before yun's hands retract. the focus attack needs to be spaced correctly ie dont just start your FA point blank(correct me if im wrong) and as soon as your backdash finishes start the palm immediately the second palm is easier. you also dont need a FAlevel3 ive been able to do it in the corner off of a level 2

AE- Fei is the best character by far in AE, people who complain about twins but not him know little to nothing about the game.

3rd Strike - Ken is only roughly 3rd best, and he loses to Yun 6.5-3.5 ish, Chun-Li and Yun are leagues above every other character, even 3rd place.

Tier whoring is playing the BEST characters, sure, Daigo plays high tier, but that's because he makes tons of money from playing games, why wouldn't he choose good characters?

I didn't say he picks THE BEST, I said really good. He picks the top characters, not the single best, but characters that are highly up there.

Thing is, though, the Yun hate is probably because that's who people have been using the most - and thus got the most potential out of by the time AE was released to consoles. Of course his Gen'ei Jin is crazy broken in this game, you just gotta figure out a way to prevent him from doing that stuff - or, take advantage of the fact he has no long-range projectiles (his Palm attack have an invisible, slow travelling and short distance projectile, as does Yang)

I loved how in this tournament we didn't have Justin or Marn present and yet the only Japanese player to not get eliminated was Daigo. It just shows that the US scene is ever growing. I didn't even know who Hsien Chang was until this tournament.
