Only other difference in our rifles is my suppressor is possibly slightly larger, I had it custom built by Gunworks Canterbury in New Zealand. It is an overbarrel unit with dimensions 250mm long x 35mm diameter with an internal muzzle break so the full volume is used. My JW103 is actually quieter than my 10/22 on subsonics (as the JW103 doesnt have the noise of the bolt carrier flying around after each shot). Perfect if you live on a lifestyle block and you want to knock things down quietly.
Suggest you drop your load a little, there is still a small sonic crack. I got my JW103 running without the crack using 13.5 Grain AR2207 with a Hornady 220 Grain RN projectile. This load will push the projectile out at 950-1000 fps. I think your load sounds like mine when I hit about 1100 fps. The 220 grain projectiles with this load have a ballistics pathway of 1.5" high at 50m and 4" low at 100m. Having said this they are still >900fps at 100m and with the mass pack a decent punch. Cheers.
what are these like in general looking to buy one for my first rifle would be used for close bush shooting on reds i see them at reloaders supplies for $595 inc 3x9x40 scope are they any good cheers
@MrJordanz2much - Hi these are OK for close up shooting - the accuracy seems to vary greatly rifle to rifle - I was lucky and this shoots roughly 2 MOA with good ammo - a little more wayward with the custom subs used in this clip. But out to 100m you should drop what you aim at> Cheers.
Very nice. Iv always wanted to build one of these with one of my suppressors fitted. Nearly bought one when they were $299 at reloaders supplies around 5 years ago but decided not to and been kicking myself ever since! lol
@joehunt1980 - yes indeed - picked this up from that very store. Since filming this have stripped the blueing back and resprayed it matt black including the stock. Looks way better!
@andycranch Hard out i did the same thing to my crappy old Stevens model 87D .22. I used to really hate that rifle so i decided to spruce it up a little. I ended up shortening the barrel back to 1/2 inch in front of the tube mag, Threaded for suppressor and painted up the metalwork matt black. Painted over the previously varnished stock with matt black and went over that with matt varnish for a durable finish... Quite like that rifle now lol lots of firepower from the 15 shot tube
@andycranch Funny how people are getting gun shy these days aye specially on farms... Thats why i got into suppressed rifles too. Hey I heard that the barrel on the bushrangers are actually pressed into the receivers instead of threading them.. Does it have a couple of pins holding them in like a .22?

@joehunt1980 - yeah they have gone up in price since then - nearly $600 now. Then you have to thread and suppress it to keep the neighbours happy :)

Whats great about 7.62x39 is its still fairly cheap and its accurate enough...plus ive heard the soft point rounds are fairly good hunting rounds too

Nice to see a sexy boltaction 7.62x39 rifle ;)

Thanks :-) Not too bad accuracy-wise also - getting about 2"MOA with custom subsonic loads at 70 metres.
