hey theres something wrong with my goped. its an old sport. when you start it, it will idle just fine. but when you give it gas, you can feel the strokes are more powerful, but it it stays at idle speed. and after you give it gas, it dies.

TIP: this is a basic idea for all carburetors just the factory settings are all different.

HIGH SPEED NEEDLE (needle (screw) farthest away from motor cylinder)

LOW SPEED ( closest needle ( screw ) to the cylinder )

another tip when tuning dont rely on a freewheel tune so much, also tune when putting a load on it. this gives you a closer tune.

when you tune it all up turn the needles (screws) out 1/16th of a turn. this richens it up.

when weather changes its important to retune as well.

Pretty much the problem i have is speed, like for example i have no problem whatsoever to start it but once i start going and reach like a mid-speed it starts to shake a bit and go like crazy... what should i do?

This isn't "tuning" the carb - it's adjusting the idle revs; the more you turn the screw clockwise, the higher your ped will rev when idle. If you turn the screw too much, when idle, your ped will start to accelerate fowards without you needing to apply any throttle. The main use of this screw is for people who's peds keep cutting out when idle, adjusting this screw can help it stay running.

When I was learning how to tune awhile back, I would use the stock settings and then tune either way till I thought it was good; I trained my ears to hear the proper tuning. One time when I was at a local Goped shop, I talked with the mechanic who suggested starting with these settings (in the video)...it makes sense, I mean...you run a lesser risk of seizing your engine (which can be a big fear when tuning).

I've had this engine running strong for 7 years now, never NEEDING to change a gasket or piston ring. Tuning an engine too rich wont make it explode, it will make it flood, bog down, and kill. Its better to start rich (like my method), then turn it leaner until you find the right setting, that way you don't run the risk of overheating and seizing your engine.

there is no clutch so the driven wheel always roates with the motor. Having the wheel up allows the motor to rotate freely while the chord is pulled without having to follow the board down the road.
