We've got real problems to deal with like climate change, overpopulation, ... and the growth of fundamentalism of all types. This nonsense distracts people from reality and convinces people to make stupid decisions that are based on myths and not on reality, based on the beliefs of ignorant ancient people instead of on compassion or facts.

Jesus' imminent return has been predicted many times in the last 2000 years. He actually promised to return during the lifetime of the people he was addressing, so he's already around 2000 years late.

There are many examples of people who were sure that the world was going to end. Feeling sure is not a reliable guide to reality unless you have actual facts to back up your beliefs. The 9/11 hijackers were very sure they were going to paradise. It didn't make them right.

@AThagoras Nope. He didnt say He was going to return aroun the time of His disciples. He said The GOSPEL must be preached on ALL 4 corners of the eartgh, and then the END will come. YESHUA knows all things and HE is the Great Designer, the GREAT Creator. He never said He would return 2000 years ago. The Bible is the Word of GOD, When He spoke, he spoke in parables, His words a 3folds. Past, present and FOREVER. He was talikng in all 3.

Matthew 16:28, Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27 all indicate pretty clearly that Jesus claimed he would return within the lifetimes of the people he was addressing.

If you want to reinterpret the Bible, that's your choice, but the plan simple truth is that Jesus was wrong.

Faith is what makes people fly planes into buildings. It's what makes people pray for their child to get better instead of getting the medical attention she needs. Faith is what makes people in Africa discard (or even kill) their own children out of fear that they might be witches.

Faith perpetuates ignorance. Faith is one of the biggest problems in the world today.
