It seemed like it would be a big show, but like WCW always was, the bigger the show, the more awful the screw-up. A lot of fans had been losing interest in WCW before this, but this definitely added to it....not a bad show quality wise, but just nowhere near what it should've been when you consider what it was supposed to be, the decisive battle in the WCW-nWo war

Starrcade 97, my second favorite Starrcade just behind Starrcade 83. The reason why I say it is because they had the best wrestling, lot of blood, and a legendary cage match. Starrcade 97 was the last great Starrcade ever.

i believe one of the best wcw pay per view. bishoff had alot of talent but didnt promote his talent the right way thus leading to go out of bis. two icons sting and hogan in a ring was one of the biggest matchs at the time and maybe still could be. Nwo good idea but went a little to far.

As much as I liked 97, no other Starrcade can top Starrcade 83. Why? Abdullah the Butcher, Carlos Colon, Roddy Piper, Greg Valentine, Ric Flair, Harley Race, Great Kabuki, Ricky Steamboat, and the Brisco Brothers. How can you top that? I consider this #2 in my book.
