Hi Andrew , I am trying to learn barre chords . I don't know any yet . Could you tell me which of your video's and in what sequence should I watch your video's ? Thanks . - Jerry - aka - HUTCHfromBA . PS ! I'm into slow blues guitar . B.B.King and Buddy Guy style . Thanks again Andrew ...
Hello, I have a video up on the channel here titled, "Guitar Lesson: Barre Chords." That could help to get you going. As for order of vid's, that's pretty tough since they are more category dependent rather than order & sequence oriented. Your best bet is to search my blog site at andrewwasson [dot] com for videos and hit my lessons site at creativeguitarstudio [dot] com for topic headers.
For harmonizing minor, just perform the same chords, but off of the major scales' 6th step. It's called, "Relative Minor." Melodic minor is not part of standard harmony. You can harmonize it, but it is not used to write with. Dorian is the 2nd degree and Lydian is the 4th. Study your modes my friend. Buy Andrew's Modes book. I did, and it thoroughly explains all of this stuff in detail. Every scale is harmonized in his book.
I have a question. I am a self taught guitarist and I am looking to take my guitar playing further by getting music education. I cannot read music. Would they teach me to read it there or would I need to learn this on my own time before I would go to school.
Music reading would definitely be a part of a music college curriculum, however you should have a very good working knowledge of how to; read notes, understand rhythms, chart reading, and reading in various fretboard positions of the neck.
I'd try out the William Leavitt - A Modern Method for Guitar - Volumes. I studied from them myself years ago and learn't a lot. Place as much focus as you can on learning positions 3 thru 9 on the fretboard. Also, Clarinet, Trumpet & Saxophone music falls nice on the guitar. Also - If you like jazz, buy a "Real Book."
You've giving up appling to a school purely on the ground that you can't read music? Sounds like you'll never apply with that thinking....
You should just apply now and learn to read music in the mean time. Even just learning the rhythm of the notes (ignoring the pitch on a scale -- use tabs for that) will be enough for the start..
School is a lot of money. Since I have to pay for it myself I would like to be successful there and do the best I can. I was thinking about taking a year off after I graduate high school and seriously practice then apply.

I do, simple. These would be great, if I could also hear a decent guitar, not a plastic tone like this. Not pro at all for a crativeSTUDIO and for the background. Somebody had to tell him.
Hello Andrew do you have a chart showing the triads and sevenths for the 4th string? I would appreciate your help in my studies...
