Man really nice dogs!! Is that a Kuvasz you have there as well!? Yes people dont realize how sensitive a cane corso really is, people dont realize that guard dogs are some of the most loving animals on earth, and when scolded or miss treated they are greatly affected. One of the worst traits for any one looking for a corso tho and i find is the result of most aggressive dogs is lack of confidence, so socialize socialize socialize and never end a experience on a bad or fearful note always calm.

If well trained, Cane Corso is the best in the world. They bear children presence very well, they can be guided by a young kid if they know they must and they would never misinterpret the intentions of other people. You can always lend a hand to the owner, touch him, put a hand on his shoulder and it won't attack you. And after the command "bite" he would always quickly obey to the command "stop biting"

It takes about 2-3 years for a cane corso (or any large breed) to mature mentally. They will reach their full height at about 10-12 months of age, but will "fill in" and grow thicker and denser until about 2 years old. It takes them longer to mature mentally than physically, so eventhough the dog will look like an adult, it will still be a "puppy" until about 2-3 y.o..

I just got five acres of land and im going to have Amstaffs, Cane Corso's, and Dogo's. It will be about three ears before I will have any pups available but I will have the set up. My uncle before he became a punk ass snitch had two undefeated pitbull's. Real dogman will tell you pitbull's are number one only pound per pound. People fight pitbulls to last longer fighting each other. Amstaffs dont have game because they are now bred for temperment. That way you have a great pet instead of a fighting cur.

my cane corso is really gentle to kids she loves them. my nephew loves her. he wud feed her a few biscuts out of his hands. she would just try her best not to touch her. its amazing how gentle they are as big as they geht they still have that soft side to them dont they? they love to lean up against you, or lay down on your foot.

PLEASE make sure u take the time 2 train ur Cane Corso. She may B sweet as pie (mine is), but if you don't socialize her (and I mean ALL-THE-TIME w/ CHILDREN-DOGS-& -ADULTS) she may end up a little timid around them. That = scarey. She'll be a good guard dog without you training her 2. But she won't necessaraly be able 2B around children/dogs without training on that. If nothing else (obedience), SOCIALIZE her. Plz. LOVE MY Cane & hate the bad name he gets just for looking the way he does.

agreed that people shouldnt portry any breed as 'the best' but disagree that they can only be used for guarding. corsos also make exelent working dogs, with many talents....perhaps other breeds may be better at herding, hunting etc. but they to will have other weaknesses that the corso dose not and so on......

I agree about them being sensitive. My Corso absolutely thrives on affection. But he is very sensitive.

I am amazed by the bond I have with him, they are a very special breed. He is amazingly loyal, a real 'one-man' dog.

I think everyone has a breed that they 'click' with and, for me, it's the Corso.

I couldn't see myself ever having any other type of dog.

They are absolutely brilliant.
