brah ive been trying to find places on oahu with some action but i get no luck especially cause i dive from shore . ive been diving for a few years now and no luck with the big boys. got any advise?

Find friends that know good spots and go with them. Explore the coasts and take a chance. Honestly, that's how I found my #1 fav spot.

all of you shut up. fishing is fishing. All the Hawaiian fishermen I grew up with used both fishing nets and spearguns.  You telling me they aren't "Hawaiian." I'm a lot more Hawaiian than most people and done more fishing that most guys do in their lifetime. If you have respect for the ocean and its habitants, and mindful of conservation for the future, then you are Hawaiian in my book, pal.

Elevatedone you'd have to see it to believe it. these guys mastered the dive-bomb, the side-bomb the cave stalking, the rear-stalk, the front-stalk and just about every way of making the fish come closer. And they learned in just about the most difficult places you'd imagine, South side Oahu baby

I'm an Oahu diver buddy, all sides. It doesn't matter, you can catch fish if you know where to go and how to stalk at that particular spot.

Just remem. I'm an oahu diver. Once in a while, i go other islands, but most spots are in difficult places to dive. You just got to know how to stalk those buggas, and confidence makes the hugest difference. If you know your gonna shoot uhus, you will. If you doubt, then you won't. You are what you think.

Yes, the funny thing is I have a red filter, but it still turns blue. I don't get it.

Yeah, I thought I noticed filter-effect distinctly around 5:30 to 6:00.... it does lose its effectiveness at a certain depth (say 40 ft), as there is so little of red-wavelength to begin with.

Maybe, you only had shallow action around 5:30-6:00 (say 10-25 ft), the rest is >35ft....dunno!
