  • 2 points; OUTLAW; Exahust= Noise Laws: totally banned, spark arrester, wont be legal anywhere & won't pass inspection, Laws of physics.. what about the gyroscopic effect when leaning in curves, that will keep you going straight... good luck in the showroom and out there with the cops

  • That is just amazing! How smooth are those radials?

  • I got to see on sometime!

  • He looks like a 30 yr old Tom Waits, and is displaying badassery equal to that of Tom Waits, in this video.

  • Imagina ligar essa merda todo dia, hahha

  • Makes sense. H-D motors were used in airplanes in WWI.

  • Very cool AP. Maybe I already made a comment long ago. An NRX brother to the extreme.

  • Thats awesome, what a beast!

  • why?

  • Wow, awesome.

  • slap a prop on it and a couple bombs! great bike!

  • My My, I love it!

  • That thing is a beast!

  • the balance and smoothness seems surprising

  • A video during daytime hours might be better.

  • wow that is AWESOME!!

  • I thought Brad Pitt is: D

  • Jesse James did it first.

  • @My767676 Jesse James did not come up with the idea, he just built the bike for a customer who has a patend on the idea.

  • That thinks sounds wicked!!!!

  • sweet

  • revs like a 1.4L B.R.M. v-16

  • its too big to turn a circle. engine sounds good. Like a wright cyclone

  • how many hp and torque??:DD

  • damn ass weird looking, is that engine on da moped

  • coolest chopper ever made by far!!!

  • how much does it weight?

  • This aint motorcycle, this is a fucking airplane! :D

  • Typical metal mentality. A lack of brain cells, and an abundance of money. Not only is the idea stupid, but it looks fucking stupid as hell. As long as everyone looks at only him, and nobody else.

  • @sawyerboy13 You sound jealous. What's the matter? Can't afford to play with the big boys?

  • @TheDocsutube I can, and do play with the big boys. But with functional toys. I like to be seriously radical on the edge, not just straight down the highway at 45 maybe 55 mph. I prefer functionality over looks. The looks of this thing is stupid. Gee how much gas does that idiotic looking tank hold, half a gallon, maybe 3/4 of a gallon? Whats the max operating time 8 maybe 9 minutes. ROTFLMFAO. What's he trying to do overcompensate for something lacking between his legs. LOL

  • They say seeing is believing but I have seen it and still don't believe it.

  • i only ride sport bikes but that engine is a beautiful piece of art.

  • Funny, it still sounds like a bike!

  • i had the same idea when i was 8 and was told it could not be built! bull i say bull! thanks for posting this!

  • Who can't love the insanity of this lovely beast .

  • thumbs up for james hetfield

  • Beautiful, just absolutely beautiful!

  • Looks great I know it air cooled and not problem when you moving how about when its not moving does it get hot fairly quick theres no prop to keep it cool ?

  • я хочу такой же мотик.

  • @afghanpilot G'day, from the look of the clip, it had oil on the lower plugs. Radials do that. We used to turn the Warner Scarab & Armstrong Siddley Gennet backwards, 2 full rotations, 2 undo Hydraulic Locking. A better fix is to pull the lower plugs after shutdown, & replace B4 next start... To see my own madnes, search 'solar thermal ramjet', then 'sunfoil' & enjoy ! It's all real, & open source. Ciao.

  • Everything's alright except it has the same turning radius of the moon.

  • I would have built a collector for all those little exhaust pipes and merged them into a fat 5 inch pipe with a turn-out just before the rear axle.

  • Great to see a rotary put in a bike. This is a first.

  • @coyotesnper radial.

    watch?v=6BCgl2uumlI <-- rotary :)

  • @coyotesnper Not so, actually.

There have been various specials down the years with radial engines and at least one that was produced comercially: the truly wonderful Megola of the early 20's. Search for Megola Motorcycle, German motorcycle, rotary engine here on YouTube

  • Could someone who knows something about it tell me, is it a good idea to put this kind of engine to the ground vehicle? I mean, does it performs better, or maybe it's more economical, what are pros and dis of it? Thank you.

  • Good question mindeloman; There are compression releases on the bottom cylinders that are open when the engine is not running thereby allowing oil to drip out of the cylinders preventing hydraulic lock. They close when the engine is started.

  • So with it being a radial engine do you have to "turn-it-through" a few revolutions before you start it? If so, how? They used to count props and then apply ignition.

  • damn thats sweet how many hp and how much torque

  • 110 hp/ 160 ft lbs per square inch of torque. -

  • @afghanpilot ... ft lbs 'per square inch'? of what, lol

  • @afghanpilot

That's some strange unit of torque.

  • @afghanpilot foot pounds per square inch???

  • @afghanpilot Given the power/ torque figures you quoted, the peak power of 110 bhp occurs at 3600 rpm?

  • @afghanpilot betcha that thing is a pig on gas

  • The minds and talent that built this bike have hit their target. The narrow HD like profile is still there but the side view is breathtaking!! And it appears not so radical that it can't be riden safely.

I'm surprised of the sound. It is more tame than I would think. The throttle response shows it means business! V-NICE!

If I could change one thing it would be the primary cover. An entire etching with shadowing would quiet the cover's looks for those cylinders.

    The bike is still perfect.

  • awesome

  • so if you swap out the drive belt for a prop will it take off into the skies hahah jus playin i know someone would have to comment me back with the imposible logistics of it all

  • Mechanized artwork right there!

  • This, plus the hubless wheel setup front and rear would be my dream ride. Any other takers?

  • haha look at his face , he must be so proud of him self after finishing his bike lool

  • @doomage121 If I took a concept written on a napkin like John Levey did and made it a real bike that everyone goes crazy over, I'd be happy too.

  • @doomage121 With the right to bee man this is the best chopper i seen for a long time, the radial engine is so cool Im speechless!

  • Can you say insane torque with power following it?

  • I want to see those losers at OC chopper do something like this

  • If that is an R-2800... wouldn't that be 2800 cubic inches?? This is the greatest thing I've seen since ready to eat ice cream. Has the turning radius of a road grader but still this a great piece of work!!!

  • how long will it run? that fuel tank is pretty small..

  • If you put a propeller on it, it could drive sideways.

  • @doctim11 Might have trouble with leg clearance...

  • R-2800. Pratt & Whitney or Wright?? This is badass.

  • @falcon1163

did prat and witney make engines of only 2800cc?

  • Where did the engine come from? Did you build it yourself?

  • @JustWonderingHowToDo The engine was built by Rotec in Australia.

  • Very cool.

  • That engine sound makes me feel tingly like seeing a ghost.

  • Nice Bike dude

  • now your like 6 times likely to get a piston in the chest lol

  • Very nice Im so jealous

  • how many CI or liters ??

    very very nice bike

  • @boilingpoint2

Thanks for asking: 2,800cc or 171ci.

  • @afghanpilot good christ i thought my victory was a beast

  • whats going on at 0:25? priming the oil pump?

  • @R5H4D0W

Nope, that's just John holding the choke open.

  • wow 10 piston.......

  • Orange County Chopper should love this thing! =)))

  • that bike is sick.

  • It needs those spark plug wires that light up. That would just be attractive.

  • Hey dude, I think you should check the pistonrings, and after that you should adjust the valves :)

    HAHA jokeing :D

  • real nice

  • This is sick. Wish I'd thought of it first! =D

  • fantastic!!

  • its good idea.

  • would have looked a lot cooler if the engine was perpendicular to the frame.

a lot cooler. this is actually pretty nasty looking. badass, but nasty.

  • hoe much time does it take to start at the crossing light???

  • Now THAT'S a monster bike!!

How fast can that beast go?

  • A bit small gas tank for longer trips?

  • man that has gotta be annoying and long with all those cylinders not wanting to wake up in the morning.

  • Dude looks like James Hetfield

  • Did you have to raise the compression to get it to rev like that?

  • What an excellent piece of engineering. I would love to see the thing for real!!!

  • ccccoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllll

  • neuw wunderfull vison ,iam from germany:ICH HEBE MEIN HUT.

  • nice job man.congrats

  • What kind of gas mileage does that beast get? Hehehe....

  • Man does that have a quick rap

  • regarding teh exhaust length. it appears theyre not equal length pipes. is this true ? gotta give this person/s credit for buildign this though

  • beeroosterm you've obviously not seen all the videos of this beast. Go look at her running down the Sturgis dragstrip. No pussy about this bike, she roars AND goes fast!!

  • @afghanpilot that has to be the coolest thing i have ever seen!!!

  • @afghanpilot Saw the Sturgis video with the clutch slipping drag run. Ho fucking hum. It has a one speed transmission. What a terrible waste for such a spectacular concept. It needs a multi-speed tranny. Why go all that way only to sell the concept short? It's otherwise just a gimmick.

  • @beeroosterm

    Wow... you are soooo tuff.

  • @beeroosterm lol, did you just get owned!?!

  • @beeroosterm you sir, are an epic fail

  • @TutorialsReviews123 I've seen the quarter mile video with the slipping clutch and the one speed tranny. While I think this is a spectacular concept, posting a video of the thing revving is boring. Seeing how lame it is in the quarter mile is even worse. I'd love to see it with a multi-speed transmission and a video of it on the road at speed. And by speed I mean hammering the thing. If it's all just for show (like many of the Orange County Choppers), then why bother? To prove it can be done?

  • @beeroosterm

    why bother u ask?

    why not I say?

art can be made just for fun or to demonstrate a concept.

when it comes down to it whats the point in even living?

  • @tpvalley While it can also be an objet d'art, art is a actually a tertiary consideration with a motorcycle such as this. As with all motorcycles, its intended purpose is to propel you down whatever road you want - a spectacular experience in itself. The radial engine is secondary to this, the purpose of which is to prove such an unusual configuration can be done. While I greatly admire the gumption it took to make it happen, my comment about the tranny stands.

  • @beeroosterm

yes a gearbox would be better but if it has a wiiide powerband then it may be ok like bikes of old that had just a belt!

  • @tpvalley That would be impossible with this kind of power. Even a two speed tranny would be better than one. However, a custom box with overdrive would be a perfect solution to take advantage of the torque this thing produces.

  • @beeroosterm "kind of power"?

power output has no relevance other than the more u have the harder it may be to stall so u need less gears as u can set off in top so to speak. of course more is better but u must understand that the only obstacle is powerband langth and place in rpm.

  • @tpvalley I was commenting in regard to using a literal belt drive (the old leather kind from early 20th century), which is only appropriate for bikes with a few horsepower. And frankly, you don't write like someone who knows what they're doing...

  • @beeroosterm

this bike has only one gear does it not?

u were talking about this bike; has it a leather belt drive? NO!

u were not talking about leater belt drives u were talking about this and because u realise ur error u accuse me of not knowing what Im talking about based on my correcting u with a fact.

power output has no rellevance unless its to weak to set off.

  • @beeroosterm ~ I'm looking at a marvelous peice of engineering. You, on the otherhand, probabably couldn't build a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich.

  • pewnie wpierdala w chuj paliwa

  • A real man would've kicked it.

(roll to TDC...KICK! Roll to TDC...KICK. Roll to TDC...KICK sputter. Repeat 47 times.)

  • quanto custa?

    84-8881-5152

  • @jomar4435

I guess this Bike is not for sale... ;-)

  • Coolest bike ever made.

  • that's ferkin rad!

  • that fuel tank is a bit on the small side for such a big lump, i bet that chap has to refill on a frequent basis heheh

  • is that 7 cylinders?

  • Yes, it is.

  • what the fuck!!!

  • "uuuh...this is your captain speaking...."

  • @asbjones

"...tell those oil tycoons to prepare for profit take-offs, as soon as our fuel tank has been topped off from idling, which shouldn't take more than 30 to 40 minutes since the engine is still idling while filling, then we will taxi to the end of the block and have Stan pick us up in his truck because we're out of gas, again..."

That is a bad ass chopper, though.

  • the end of the video is how long it takes to use a whole tank of gas :)

Nah but seriusly, i reckon you'd be lucky to get 40 - 50 miles out of that tank.

  • How do you "hand prop it over a few blades" to ensure you don't have oil lock on the lower jugs? Hopefully the Rotec doesn't have that problem. Very cool vid.

  • I would hope there is a compression release on the bottom cylinder.

  • @h2otek: I was wondering the same thing.

  • I liked the cranking :)

  • Wow! That is cool! What are we talking for horsepower? How is the reliabilty factor? Is that engine temperamental? Love the sound. Please, more video of it out on the road in full cry!

  • quite beautiful execution

  • There's a Remove Before Flight streamer hanging from the bottom. Hope it was nothing important.

  • What about gas consumption? Otherwise this is epic and would make any rider deaf.

  • sweet

  • I'd like to see a drag race between JRL's inline mounted radial bike and Jesse Jame's new cross- mounted radial bike. I wonder if Jesse's is rideable ? I've just seen pictures no movement. But if it could happen.....

  • That is cool. Puts OCC to shame.

  • OCC has been a joke since day one.

  • you are right. the only thing OCC actually makes is fenders, tanks, and trinkets. they dont do any engineering. notice how all that stuff always arives in a box prefabricated by somebody else. LOL!!

  • how many bike fabricators have to hire a dude to unwrap plastic and bubble wrap?

  • well, they do since they order so much prefab stuff! plus you have to hire a few guys to stand around and throw old parts in piles, and across the shop when they get mad, to look cool. OCC POSERS!

  • Dude, that thing is bad ass !!!

  • sounds like it has monster acceleration , would like to see sum 1 give 1 of these engines the full beans!

  • pick up much?

  • looks wicked!

  • Ground clearance is not an issue at all, just look at the JRL website to see.

The rear cylinder heat topic seems to pop up alot. JRL and Rotec have done studies and have found this to be a non-issue. Yes the rear cylinders run a touch hotter but due to the amount of finnage and lots of oil pushed around this is not a problem.

As far as gas mileage....who cares!! LOL

    Afghanpilot

  • The rear cylinders must run very hot?

    What about ground clearance?

  • can i have it hor xmas?

  • how good is it on gas?

  • Probably horrific. Extra cylinders eat up a lot of gas.

  • helstontvx, you clearly don't know much about radial engines if you honestly believe what you wrote.

  • fucking hell. what a beautiful bitch! dont forget the flaps on 30 degrees when u landing this bike...haha

  • Sweet! Love the sound of huge, round engines that roar and drip oil.

  • wild thing!...the design at all is very nice, aesthetically beautiful....Class!

  • Does look sweet and I am not into bikes at all

  • you will not get far...not enouh cooling efect.rear cyls will overheat...nice project to show off skills.

  • And i thought a Mazda 12-A rotary motor in a chopper was impressive....ha! this thing SMOKES it!
