ok i have a request...do you know the mid section of She from KISS Alive? I'm referring to that really cool riff that Ace keeps repeating until Paul takes over the same riff...and then Ace continues into the solo.
@scottrap Yes I do. Check my tutorials playlist on my channel...I did do a lesson for it. The video is dark but just watch and listen and you will get it. Also, I was not playing guitar very long when I did that lesson so watch it and if it helps...great! If not I can redo the lesson for you! Rock n Roll and thanks for the request! \,,/
ace's solo album was a real surprise to many, it's stood up very well all these years on
i think i have seen your talk to me tutorial a while back, i sneak around the kiss stuff on the tube, it's just me reliving my teens many years back now
@leokimvideo Ace's solo album was pretty good...better then the rest. I actually prefer Peter's solo album personally. Thanks for watching my vids and the Talk to Me tutorial!
My teens are not as far back as one would think...lol \,,/
@fantoto Thanks! Make sure to check out my Kiss Tutorial channel for nothing best Kiss Lessons! You will find a link to it by looking under my tutorial playlist :)

Nice job warmachine169... Great to know there are people out there who are true ace fans... The hardest thing about getting ace down is his vibrato.. Are you gonna do a lesson on how to get aces vibrato? And how he gets pinch harmonics? Would love to see you do that!! Could you please e mail me the tabs? Thanks and great job!!!
@Thesnag69 Thanks for the kind words, I greatly appreciate it! I love Ace's style because it is not in your face or flashy, it is simplistic but effect. It sounds great and it is not like a lot of other rock or metal styles that simply are about lightning fast riffs or solos. I could possibly do a video for his vibrato style and pinch harmonics. I will send you a link to download the tabs as well. Thanks again for watching \,,/
@vonroden Glad to hear that you are getting your first guitar! I wish you the best in learning how to play it :) I would go with a Gibson style guitar, I am not that fond of the Fender shape. And yeah, Ace has a large Chuck Berry feel to his playing. Thanks for watching \,,/

ace i smy all time favorite guitarist hes really a blues guitarist what this guy is talking about is simply dropping the low root note to a 5th and its the basic 1 ,5, 7 riff
Thanks bro!!! I love Ace and Kiss!!! Ace is the reason I started playing the guitar and what better why to repay my thanks then to help other guitarists. Thanks for watching \,,/
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I did tunes down a half a step. Very few Ace song's are tuned standard...I know Torpedo Girl is tuned standard...lol \,,/

Thanks for watching, I am glad you liked it. As for picking, I use all down but I think Ace uses alternate picking (I think that is right). If I am not mistaken he uses up, down, up, down, etc...but don't quote me on it...lol \,,/
Thanks Matt for the awesome comment on my video. I figure if people go out of their way to help you that you should do the same. I have had some great people help me out when they could have just said NO. I am proud to call you MAF. Rock n Roll \,,/
Hey bro! That was an awesome lesson! Those licks are very important in so many styles of music and have been used to create some of the greatest solo's of all time. I think you are awesome for sharing your knowledge with people man, that is the kind of musicianship that helps us all improve and grow! You are great man!!! Proud to call you a friend that's for sure!!! ROCK ON BRO!!! \m/
WOW Thanks Chris. These licks are pretty awesome. After all the help I have received from the great people I met on here I said to myself..."if these guys will go out of their way to help out a total stranger than I will too". I will teach anything I know...my way of repaying the favor :) I am honored to call you my friend!!! Thanks for the AWESOME compliment...ROCK N ROLL BRO \,,/
Awesome lesson man! These are all great licks to have in your arsenal. You can tell that Ace listened to a lot of Led Zepplin as he uses a lot of similar licks as Jimmy Page. Hey I saw the kitty running around in the background around 2:36!
Thanks Sage bro. These licks are similar I believe to Page's but I never really listened to a lot of Zepplin....my kitty runs around the room from time to time...lol \,,/
Just that the lighter the gauge the easier the bends. You might even want to try a hybrid set, with light on the high strings and heavy on the lower strings.
Wow! Peter Criss appears under your left hand at 2:42. :-)

I notice all of these licks are movable to different chord positions. cool
dennisndodie 2 years ago
Yeah, Ace use mostly the same chord progression and scales for most of his solos. Thanks for watching \,,/

Killer thanx so much , looking foward to part 2 . Can you show your picing hand too im not sure on the picking pattern up down down up etc .
ozzycriss 2 years ago
Thanks for watching, I am glad you liked it. As for picking, I use all down but I think Ace uses alternate picking (I think that is right). If I am not mistaken he uses up, down, up, down, etc...but don't quote me on it...lol \,,/

awesome!!
you can hear chuck berry in alot of aces playing..angus uses alot of the same licks, but his phrasing is a bit different..
page uses some of those licks too..but he strays into minor blues, and he uses alot of weird tunings.
killer job..you are the man!!! 10 stars

Hey bro! That was an awesome lesson! Those licks are very important in so many styles of music and have been used to create some of the greatest solo's of all time.

Hey I saw the kitty running around in the background around 2:36!
sageguitar70 2 years ago
Thanks Sage bro. These licks are similar I believe to Page's but I never really listened to a lot of Zepplin....my kitty runs around the room from time to time...lol \,,/

PS I will be doing a part 2...more Ace style licks

Nice job! Bends are getting much better!
scottryfun 2 years ago
Thanks man. I am working on a Kiss solo now and I am bending the shit out of my strings...LOL Thanks for watching \,,/
warmachine169 2 years ago
What guage strings are you using?
scottryfun 2 years ago
Extra light gauge...why?
warmachine169 2 years ago
Just that the lighter the gauge the easier the bends. You might even want to try a hybrid set, with light on the high strings and heavy on the lower strings.
