I used to have a apartment mate who was from Edinburg Scotland...he was a guard for the royal family...he said that the marching and changing of the guard was all done by numbers!
Excellent!!! It almost looks like you had given directions to the troops, down to the Sargent Major commands, right in front of the camera. Congratulations!
Ahh, I love the Regimental Band of the Coldstream Guards. They were playing one of my favourite marches, one that my high school marching band competed with my junior year, "Carry On" by Herbert Winson.
ZJH89, this is not the band of the Coldstream Guards. It is the band of the Welsh Guards - their collar badge is the leek and they have a green & white plume on the left. the troops marching behind the band are Coldstreamers, however.
Sorry, didn't mean that to be as snotty as it sounded. I was just on the other side being jostled, thankful of Canon's image stabilizing system. Have you seen it?
We got there about an hour beforehand, and I suggest you do the same. Otherwise, with the crowds, you get lost in people and generally don't see much of anything.
Those lot are in Aphganstan now giving the taliban some cold steel.they dont like it up them you know.

Awesome video. Good takes. You also picked a great spot to be really close to them. How did you do that? Did you have to be there really early?
