Erudite stupid, liberal old White man, you don't live in the real world. There is more hate crime against Whites than against any other group, but Whites are not equally protected under this law. Justin Barker was viciously attacked by a gang of blacks in Jena, LA. Because of HATE, but he did not even receive normal justice because blacks feel they should be able to do such things with impunity and acted like this was some sort of civil rights case. You are a traitor to your own people.

What really pisses me off is that This bill ACTUALLY has to be past in order to hopefully stop hate crimes.

Hate IS HATE. It should NEVER of been tolerated in the first place. It's automatic, you don't hate another person because of who they are or what they believe in. I don't understand why anyone would oppose this bill, unless you hated homosexuals, where that was your only reason.

It's just stupid that we have to go through this whole process... & it's stupid that it's only happening now

the two thugs who committed the crime against Shepard received life in prison. Likewise, the murderer of a devout Catholic grandmother who reportedly was brutally killed by a homosexual man in Chicago was also given a life sentence. The system worked in both cases and both victims received equal justice under the law apart from any discriminatory hate crimes legislation. How can you do any better than this? Equal justice.
