I dunno. All this KISS talk. I used to be into kiss, but then i grew up and started listening to music for the music. Im pretty sure making movies, commercials, putting on facepaint, flying around, etc doesnt have to do with the music. THIS (the czar)) however, was well thought out and well put together. In fact, Crack the Skye is probably one of my favourite albums. Musically, kiss doesnt compare. Mastadon's probably the only good mainstream metal band in America.

I gotta say, Brent is easily one of the best guitarists of the decade. Not only does he have speed and dexterity, but he also has feeling in it, which is rare when played at high speed. Kind of like a cross between David Gilmour and Randy Rhodes, with a splash of Hendrix for good measure.

And no band in the world has an official convention to milk the fans of as much money as they can, but Kiss. Musically even Green Jello are better than Kiss, and that says a lot. But on the other hand, Green Jello also have integrity.

What about Mastodon? I discovered them with "Crack the Skye". Fantastic!

I have during my 34 years been playing in all different kinds of groups.. hard rock, crust, deathmetal , punk.. Yes.. KISS is also one of my all time favourites.. They don't play pop or metal (as you say) they were a rock'n roll band, and one of the best.. Mixed stones with alice cooper and new york dolls, and took it to an extreme.. Kiss hasn't made one good song since 1980 imho, but what they did in the 70's is probably the most influential music acts ever made.. commerce or not
