You are definitely talented and have an original voice. And for one who developed it so young! I see big things ahead for you. I would recommend you start expanding your scope to forms 5-10 minutes in length that use some structure like sonata-allego form or something of your own invention.
I like how the two hands contrast so starkly--almost as if two totally different compositions had been merged--but they worked very well together. I agree with MasterAzuna... it's so nice to hear something from someone's heart and not just someone trying to sound "modern," "post modern," "neo serialist," or what have you.
Wow this is really good. I love the originality... too often people our age just compose and imitate someone but this is really original and really good. Did you play this, or is this just a really good synthesizer? If you did play it, I'm absolutely stunned, and if not, I'm just as impressed.
Thank you so much!! :D I agree; I can't stand imitation, and I can't figure out what makes people do it. I'm happy you like my piece, though. :) And no, it's not me playing -- just notation software and VST, hehe. I do play piano, but I'm not at this level, sadly.
Nice... Nice! Is all I kept saying to myself when listening to it. I also was reminicing about Chopin's 24 preludes #16 with thoes fast parts at about 0:23 to the end. To sum it all up in one word... Vivacious!
This piece is all over the place! That's the way I like it! Because of my interests in erraticness in music, I might be considered controversial. xD Just kidding, but I do enjoy it very much, and enjoy composing like that.
Anyway, you're a Genuis on the piano! I can't imagine how your orchestra piece would be like! :P
0:32 that's a really nice erm...run? (musically illiterate) This piece is really neat, I don't know how to feel, as soon as I feel the rise of the energy, the uplift, you plunge me back down. I better go ice my neck from all that whiplash. Nice job John.
Oh gosh, I felt like I was going to lose my mind throughout the whole song XD in a good way though LOL! Love the intensity and build-up. Very awesome :) Thanks for sharing!
Loved it since May ;). The Florid counterpoint used in the first motif is stunning, the clusters are fiery and I loved how you used chromaticism not only to create tension but to release it at around 0:30-ish. Awesome job vanilla muffin!! =P
Aw John this is wonderful!! <3 I love how it just builds up... LOL I know nothing about music so excuse the lack of proper terms XD Definitely one of my favourite pieces of yours!! Keep it up! <3
BRILLIANT!! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!! ILOVE IT! FAVOURITED!

WOW! I'm working on a piece right now. It will be called something like "The Egyptian Suite" or something. As my screen name suggests I am a cellist.

That reminds me of Final Fantasy VII :-) You play also like the music from the final fantasy games. Maybe you know them.
