because they cant. thats not a video nor game. its basicly video without render. that scene is made on computer and putted in 3d format so that it can be further edited like rendered. and thats what the video is, a rendered 3d scene. playing game like that requires a lot more power (maybe even 7x more?)
Aparently there is quite a bit seeing as how nothing is warping during the animation. Texture filtering is probably just about the only things the omap2 does at all, much like the early 3d accelerators in computers (if anybody remembers 3dfx then you get a star).
Same issue here, i still debating, i think all up to which is more important to you;
Camera, Speed, Compact = N82
Video, Sound, Control, Design, 3G in U.S. = N95
What's worst both cost the same too, so really depend... Most people does prefer N95 over N82 because mainly due to more popular and N82 doesn't get much buzz because is almost same as N95. Too bad U.S. store doesn't had this in display, it will be easier choice when first hand try it.
That's a good question cowbot. I was wondering this myself but I have no idea. It's a shame that the OMAP2 on the N800 and N810 is not put to play games.
could you redo the video with the switched-on fps benchmarking, so that it is comparable to other models, like my N95? press "2" to activate it during the intro..
of couse it has. it has dozens of options. what would it be good for otherwise? like i said, for example, press the "2" key! all other options are available under the "9".
N82 specs are same as my Nokia N95. Also , N95 have auto rotate function but in firmware v30's only.
The cpu is also same. I have this 3D demo and runs smoothly.
I dont know why Nokia dont use these graphics on their games, like Asphalt game have leggy graphics.

N82 is better I think

for i would choose n82... because it has a auto rotate function.
mmob123 3 years ago 3
I think the N82 is a better choice thanks to the xenon flash.
And the fact that I prefer candybar designs over a slider.

Would it be possible to use OMAP2420 PowerVR mbx on Nokia N800? Or is the external framebuffer unusable for 3D?
cowbot2 4 years ago
That's a good question cowbot. I was wondering this myself but I have no idea. It's a shame that the OMAP2 on the N800 and N810 is not put to play games.
blue13x 4 years ago
Unfortunately due to the N800's seperate LCD controller it's practically impossible for it to use the powervr mbx.
m03ez 4 years ago
Why do you think this?
If display is at 400x240, there should be enough bandwidth to copy to external framebuffer, no?
Any info?
