This isn't totally accurate. After graduating, you have to do a residency in INTERNAL MEDICINE. You then follow that up with a FELLOWSHIP in cardiology. The IM residency takes three years, and the cardiology specialty fellowship takes between 2-3 extra years AFTER your IM residency. That's not what this guy is telling you.
Echoing what others have said, the path is:
4 years bachelor's degree
4 years medical degree (MD)
3 years internal medicine residency
3+ years cardiology fellowship (extra interventionalist training optional)
