  • I love these shorts by D-Nice and this one here is among my faves because YZ touches on some of the most vital things in life & I dig his delivery. Just a very chill, good, down 2 earth person. I was feeling that album when it dropped.. Good memories..

  • respect to d nice for doing this.....much respect to yz...i still have both your lp's on cassette

  • Why are there no D Nice songs on YT?? They Call Me D Nice... thats it. Wtf!?

  • What the heck happened to your dreadlocks?

And I wish the background music was turned down so I could hear this brother speak. I hate interviews with all that going on.

  • Wow YZ..great interview

  • Return of the funky one was dope

  • This is one of the best well rounded True Hip Hop Stories of all. Parents you can not be friends with your children you must let them know when you're serious. Major labels are not Hip Hop. Hip Hop is street and will always, be corporate companies just took it and tainted it. Also health issues are very serious I know I've been through one take care of yourselves-GIF DA VET

YZ it's good to see you brother thanks for enlighting us back in the day.

    HIP HOP LIVES!!!!! Thanks D-NICE!

  • the TR 808 is Comming

  • G-Nice this was a good interview. I can't help but give YZ a thumbs up. Do it man. You got me loving my hip hop all over again.

  • @Funshine74

    lol "G" nice :D

  • I created his "YZ" logo for the ghetto's been good to me record. He's a good guy, very talented.. i'm glad to see he's still around , still wt something to say. -C

  • Sad to hear about your hearing loss. Hopefully you can still enjoy the music from time to time. Would love to hear more from you. Even it's from the vaults !! Stay up !!

  • This man is suppose to be a godly man, but he is nothing but a thief. Who steals from a blind man? YZ does. He is a scam artist, he made people believe he was able to help people with their music, but only thing he did was stole money-- $10stacks...THIEF!!!!! I hope you get yours!!!!

  • @Loyaltybereal Sounds like you are decribing Powder Puff at Bad Boy. ;)

  • Thank you for your channel, man this is great.

  • Wow. Thank you for this story.

  • I'm the tower with the power!!!!! Love your music homie! I agree with every word.

  • Back in the days YZ's Master Plan was one of my favorite songs/ videos.

  • Much luv to the brotha' YZ!!!!

  • When it says D-Nice, does it mean his the actual rapper or its another different guy

  • @cookieliker it's THAT D-Nice...

  • @cookieliker It`s the rapper D-Nice . He`s also an accomplished photographer now and of course he DJ`s at alot of exclusive parties for celebrities.

  • @kevhar12 No that is YZ, the rapper... the guy that he is being interviewed by is D - NICE.

  • @SoccerCHickLuVJb0246 I know that. I was saying the same thing you`re saying. Someone on these comments had asked was the interviewer D-Nice the rapper.

  • great post- i stil got some yz stuff on memorex(for yall youngins' its a cassette tape). lol . great to see he's doing well-time has been good to him- love the knowledge and humbleness that shines from him!

  • What's the beat that starts around 1:30?

  • WOE...his hearing?.......thats crazy!!........Thank God for all HIS blessings we take for granted..thank u Jesus.......

  • BIG UPS YZ!!!! STILL BUMPIN' IT!!!

  • R.I.P. Tony D Master of the moaning beats. Shouts out to YZ , Bobby Fine, Cuba, Dru, Baby Chill, Draztic, PRT, King Sun, Scott Lark, Rahzii, Law, Moflex, Awohl, Shawn Lov, Da Hillbillies, Stylze, Drunk, Mark Rae, Aim, Mr Scruff, Veba, Gina Gomez (Ebony Vibe Everlasting) The Dungeon Lords, The Outsiddaz etc etc. Tony D gone too soon but never forgotten. Jersey Stand UP! It's JERSEY FRESH!

  • Thats whats up man. I like watching and hearing thoughtful and intelligent brothers like that. Especially when talking about children.

  • where are the YZ's and Slick Ricks of this generation??? I really want to know

  • @MadeYouLook1990 knaan..lupe fiasco... theres a few..not nearly enough though

  • I was trying to work out why his voice has changed so much and obviously him stating his condition of being deaf has played a part in why his voice sounds different

  • Man it's enough of ya'll pioneers out there to give hip hop it's soul back. Those last four sentences that you spoke is hip hop gospel.

  • true indeed

  • Damn, I didn't know he was deaf...man, sorry to hear that. I love thinking of a master plan and his song ...sp far ...the ghetto's been good to me...Love them and still listen to them joints today while at the gym...

  • DOPE TRACK!!

  • Wow " we need to be the griot "

They did try to delete that part of hip hop.

  • 4:30 those ear buds ain`t safe either that

    everbody rockin now.

Wow D-nice you on point man.I needed this you for some time i eas wondering

about Y-Z and here he is.

  • Back in the day you had Jay -z and Y-z.

This was the first cat with Dreds in rap.

  • @TruheadzaNo word..and don't forget Divine Styler...he was loced up in the late 80s as well. MopTops,Dasefx, pharcyde, leaders of the new....seems like ONLY the concious rappers were rockin the dreds then...now....its the complete OPPOSITE..lol

  • Good man.

  • Why did Treach diss him on th efirst Naughty album?

  • great vid, great to see how the boy became a man and holding down his family etc, sad to hear about his hearing problems.

Thanks YZ for some classic Hip Hop.

  • hip hop at it best thank you yz for putting out real hip hop

  • YZ my man. I meet this brother in atlanta at a new years eve party in the early '90, and got a chance to catch him and a couple of his men spit some shit off the dome that was crazy. needless to say we partyed I was so fucked up. And YZ blessed me with some sticky icky, never got a chance to thank him so thank ya bra

  • word up, me too. back in the eeeeaaarly 90's after a concert, me and my homies got effed up with him and supa cat. they were both cool as hell. real down to earth, made u lose that awe struck like i'm partying with a star shit and made u see em as real humans. met domino, 69 boyz....... but i really flipped when i bumped into big boi, tommy the red ranger, and billy the blue ranger on the same elevator. i was out of my mind!!!!!!!!! hah! man boy .good times!

  • Big Boi, Tommy and Billy all in the same elevator? Sounds like some weird dream. LOL!

  • right!? and i was kinda young, young enough to still look at power rangers, so i was geeked! and i BATHED in southernplayalistic, so yeah man, it was surreal! funny thing is, big boi was like, "meh", and peaced out, and tommy and billy actually engaged in a conversation with me.

  • Interesting story man! Thanks for sharing.

  • aight my dude as a young 18 year old kat i look up to these men..they dropped jewels

  • Thats an amazing interview...I always wondered what happened to him, and quite frankly most of those artists in that era..

  • You know..... Being 40 years old now (2009) I was there when it all jumped off for the first time.

I know cats who started the game when it was all underground music.

Coo herk and spanky G and zefon and these cats...... Man them was the days! When rap was deep and had mad message. Now it's just a gimmick, A trick of sound and two or three word with no meaning.... I miss the thought that went into every line before the hook, so when the hook came it made you move. You couldn't help it!...

  • Sometimes you click a YouTube vid randomly and get blessed. Thanks yz and dnice. Very informative.

  • @khemis1 beautifully spoken. couldnt sayd it better myself.

  • when I was on a day to day basis with him, his hearing loss was mainly in one ear and I remember you would have to talk to him on his "good" side... If you forgot, you'ld have half a conversation before he looks at you and says, "I'm sorry... Did you say something?" The brother is wise and doesn't mind sharing the knowledge. I'm definitely honored to call him my Big Brother... Now where's Booga Boo at? LOL One Hundred!!! Shon Pender...

  • That album was amazing! I remeber AZ. His style was laid back and it was cool. I haven't heard anything of him since the late 80's early 90's. Glad he's still kickin'.

  • Wow I didn't know he lost some his hearing.

  • I like how he sounds relaxed and still happy after all these years.

  • Peace to YZ...I came up in the 80's and was inspired to hear some consciousness and then see the video was shot in a field in back of my neighborhood.

  • GOOD TO SEE YZ

  • Back in the day I wanted YZ to be my man, seriously. The closest I could get to him was this dude that I went to high school with named Jean M. He had YZ's style, complexion and height. To tell the truth I never got at Jean either. I guess chocolate, beautiful, slinkly black men weren't feeling me at that time, but I don't care (crying), I really don't care (Ha,ha). YZ, I think you are great MC and will always be remembered by real Hip-Hop fans. Thanks for the powerful message!!!
