  • As part of my M.A. Photography thesis, I used Highway 40 Blues with a dissolved set of slides of a truck stop series (grainy b&w's) ending with a gradual fade of an old shirt hung on a nail in the truck stop bathroom, the fade ending with the last note of Hwy 40 blues. It was hard to coordinate the ending fade with the dynamic ending of the song, but finally it worked.

  • Ray Flacke (lead guitar) and Bruce Bouton (pedal steel) were the dynamic duo of Nashville at the time. Blazing trails into unknown territory with country music. Great song. Thanks for posting!

  • I know the song is not about Interstate 40, but I rode my motorcycle to the Grand Canyon from Knoxville Tennessee, and sang this song the entire way. I couldn't shake it!
