@catalincatala dbz is and always has been terrible with one dimentional cheracters and 100% predictable storylines. dont hate on naruto just because youre a fanboy. i used to watch dbz when i was younger too, but you need to break out your shell and experience some real anime. i can suggest 3 series right off the top of my head that blow dbz away. Gantz, Elfen Lied, and Kiddy Grade. oh, here's a good one, Samurai 7. the newage dbz is bleach at least you could (upgrade?) to that, ugh.

@seanschwei maybe your right, but ill still take dbz over naruto any time. about the anime you "recommended" me, i saw Elfen Lide abour 2 weeaks ago and it got in to my top 5 right after Akira, to bad is to short. i can see besides naruto you have good taste so ill check out Gantz and Kiddy as soon as i can.

@catalincatala yeah it is to short, Gantz is about the same and Kiddy is longer but still a short series like 30'ish' episodes long. i'm more drawn to the shorter series animes like that becausethey don't leave enough room for writers to ruin it with a string of bad episodes or running out of ideas and just adding filler. Akira, Samurai 7, Gantz, Kiddy Grade, and Elfen Lied are all pretty much fighting over #1 for me, i like them all for different reasons so i couldn't put them in an order.

@seanschwei other gems to look for if you havent seen them are Ninja Scroll and Samurai X. the movies anyway, i've seen a few of the ninja scroll series and it's nowhere near as good as the movie, i have no idea about the samurai x series, i know there is one though. Vampire Hunter D is a badass movie too, theres a second one, i've seen it but i don't remember it enough to say if its good or not, i can only recall a few scenes so that makes me think it wasnt as good as the first one, lol.
