  • can you all quiting about racist shit and just enjoy this damn video like a normal human being?! the name of this song is atlantis by solar stone. No matter what "no one" is a true american but the natives...whom we stripped of their land. They are the true deservers of USA gold. Either way all of us either came by boat, walked...free or slave thats how we got here. SO STFU!

  • The US bought Lagat like a piece of meat..

  • By the time they all cross the finish line, I'd still be halfway done XD

  • What is the name and artist of this song? It is inspiring...

  • @kirenuk Solar Stone - Seven Cities

  • @tuttirulla Thank you very much!!!!

  • Its rare to see El Guerrouj humbled in a major race and they do not come any bigger than the Olympic final.

Leading from the front as he did in this race was always brave but there was no one there to do the paceing for him.

He set the pace and ultimately was not in the best shape possible.

I believe both Coe and Ovett had trained for nearly eleven years for the Moscow Olympics where Ovett beat Coe over his favorite distance 800m but Coe won the 1500m title so all was equal.

  • Whats the song called?

  • I hate the niggers chanting in the background of this crappy song!

  • @TakeAShowerStinky go tell u mum nigga

  • @hkbor89. I'm glad you agree with me that the nigger chanting is annoying.

  • @TakeAShowerStinky Do they allow cursing on youtube boards? Because I'd love to point out what a racist motherfucker you are but I'm not sure it's allowed.

Hey, don't worry, asshole--it appears you're not alone.

  • @MultiLhc. Hi queer bait. I'll get back to you on if cursing is allowed on the boards.

The NEGRO background music in the video ruins the race.

  • @TakeAShowerStinky "queer bait"? What are you, 12? I mean, a little early to be a racist motherfucker but to each his own. And nice correction--"negro" background music. Would it be better to just say the background music annoyed you? Nah, because then you wouldn't get the opportunity to spew the racist bullshit. Maybe your so lonely that you have to resort to racist and homophobic slurs on youtube just to get attention. Well, you got my attention. Congrats. Now fuck off.

  • @MultiLhc. You wish I was I was only 12, so you could do your Michael Jackson impersonation on me. I don't want your Jesus juice either.

I agree with you that the Negroes chanting in the background of this cum stained song sucks! It sounds like the Obama's at the dinner table eating: watermelon, candied hams, grits, ribs while soaking it down with ripple and Colt 45 Malt Liquor.

  • @TakeAShowerStinky Fuck off and die, asshole. Out.

  • @MultiLhc. Hi nigger. That's Mr. Asshole to you.

I hate the Negro chanting in the beginning of video. I want to make you my slave, boy!

  • aww i feel sorry for El Guerrouj, all that work to get run down in the last 20m :(

  • was this the only race that hicham ever lost?

  • @radamrampage He lost a few times to lagat following up to athens 04. Thats why he wasnt the favorite there but we know what happened there! He also tripped in 96 at alanta

  • awww 4:32 is so touching

  • how does bernard live with hisself? suspected doping? traitor?

  • @soggysausage I'd recommend shutting your misinformed mouth before you embarrass yourself.

  • @athleteization ur probably some dumb kenyan lol

  • @athleteization You're probably some dumb troll making illogical accusations. Oh wait, too late, I'm right!

  • Guerrouj!!!

  • @bitchduck1 That's the nature of training. Look at El Guerrouj's training: athletes push themselves beyond their limits, so a few minutes of running will seem easy by comparison. Try running twice a day, upwards of 15-20km, with track sessions that rival any of these top athletes- of course, if your body can handle it- I tried to do a fraction of this, and my body failed, but for a while running seemed almost like "floating" because it felt that easy after months of training.

  • @bitchduck1 it's simple, dopping

  • Look at Bernard Lagat the traitor when he was Kenyan?? Them Dollars bought him!!!

  • @mytime81

It's quite normal to emmigrate to other countries. And if you like the country you live in, its also normal to change citizenship if you are planning to stay there permanently. I dont think money is in anyones interest to change country, especially at that level. Elite athletes still make good money living in Kenya or Ethiopia. Look at Gebrselassie or Tergat.

  • @SawViking No, I think there is a financial incentive in many cases to switch nationalities- after all, these men have families to feed, and in such a large pool of talent like that in Kenya/ Ethiopia, you can go unnoticed (and sometimes mistreated by governing bodies). There's a theory that explains why there is such big influx to Kenyan marathoning- it's far more lucrative than the track. Still, I don't think Lagat's incentive was financial (a 3:26.34 1500m runner is better off I'm guessing).

  • It's so sad that Noah Ngeny's career was instantly ended by a road accident. HE still holds the 1000m World Record. He was a man with a great kick. When El Guerrouj broke the mile World record at 3:43.12, Noah Ngeny pursued him all the way to the line in a personal best time of 3:43.40. Noah also has a 1,500 PB of 3:28.12 while the WR is 3.26.00.

@mrembo87, yes, we beat Africa in Nairobi in July/August 2010 and even Yifter the Shifter knows it. We also beat the World in Moncton Canada.

  • must say i wasn't sure about the sound track at first but it definitely works! like the way the beat stops as el guerrouj takes the lead highlighting the loneliness of being out front then returns to give rhythm to the kenyan celebrations.....maybe it's coincidence, and i'm speaking shit but either way the race is a great one and the athletes so sporting at the end....inspiring! well done whymm!

  • NGENY IS A LEGEND IN KENYA FOR KICKING A LONG TIME MONSTER HICHAM AND THEN CELEBRATING WITH A BEAUTIFUL DANCE =D

  • best 1500 ever. Ngeny beats Guerrouj!!!

  • Guerrouj is still #1.

  • yiftertheShifter1 what are you going to say about african championships whitch endend 1 agust in nairobi ???????. kenya was on top as usually with 10 golds 7 silvers and 8 bronce. so how many medals did ethiopia won????? 1 gold 4 silvers and 4 bronce???.man we are best you better believe it.

  • @mrembo87 Why are you saying we are the best.Your not even part of there team and i bet your not even kenyan so fuck you.

  • I love celebration part

  • get rid of the song it ruins the whole video

  • All about frontrunning.

  • a winner for the most part as long as the races were setup & paced for him - a remarkable win/loss & current wr holder

  • the sportsmanship is inspiring. this is the epitome of how all sports should be like.

  • Hey remember when Bernard Lagat was Kenyan.....

  • @maniacmiler Lol hilarious.

  • white boy sullivan was just kickin' it the last lap...

great video, more awesome soundtrack....I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!!PLEASE TELL ME!

  • Noah was the only athlete to really challenge El Grrouj. Noah had ridiculous speed and owns the 1000 metre world record. A real real close second behind El

Gerrouj, and barring injuries he could have been as great

  • what is the name of this song? i love it!

  • they are all beautiful and elegant runners~

  • I almost cried watching this. This is truly a beautiful video.

  • whats with the retarded music?

  • NGENY!!

  • stop fooling yourself .Ethiopia mens has sweept only one sweep 10000m 2003 paris. and only tree guys from ethiopia has won gold in word champions.bekele and gebre 10k and marathon ones.

  • Uh... your point being? The 10000m is for Ethiopia what the 3000m Steeplechase is for Kenya.

  • its 3 42 not 3 32

  • are you talking about 2005 helsinki where ethiopians swept 10000m w and 5000w?????? and 2003 10000m men sweep?????. well that was before, when kenya womens were not competing distance track.the end of that era started in osaka 2007 5000m womns.

  • No, what are you talking about? Kenyan women have been competing in distance events for at least a decade... the name Sally Barsosio ring a bell? She's another example of a Kenyan who wins at age 19, but doesn't win anything major after that...

  • am talking about your best event remember????????????????.see kenyans in thier best event with team B and they 1-2 in men marathon and also won world cup.nuff said.

  • Marathon favors strength in numbers, track and field focuses on only the very top.

  • yes i forgot LOL!!!!!!!!!!! not only defar, bekele and dibaba but also gebre and shaheen. and where was gebremariam in berlin??????????

  • @mrembo87 The same place as Micah Kogo, who was last year your best 10000m runner, but King Kenya's consistency doesn't live very long...

  • O gosh!!!! if defar was ill why did she botherd her self running???? the only point is that you dont want to agree Ethiopia has only three yuys. bekele, dibaba, defar. and they must be on thier best to beat kenyans.

  • I wouldn't give up an opportunity to race in an event I trained all year for. Defar probably hadn't known that she had the illness until the end of the race (much like Seb Coe finding out his toxiplasmosis when losing in the final stages of the '82 Euro 800m); meaning she could run, but she the illness must have dropped her strength, which one needs much of in the final stages of a championship.

  • Wrong: It is the Kenyans who need to be at their best to beat Ethiopians. Bekele is probably not as fit as he was a few years ago, and the stress fracture lost him several months of training, but he didn't lose a single 3/5/10,000m race last year.

And when you thought that Ethiopia had only three guys, Gebremariam took the gold; Ethiopia also has Sihine and Gebreselassie, and others who have won several medals (even swept 1-2-3) in championship long distance events.

  • well, in berlin Ethiopia had best team including runners who won titles in amman jordan. But did they won anything in berlin??????????? No it was all about KENENISA BEKELE.also having your strong teams ever in marathon you managed only bronce.your speciality 5000m women you managed bronce too.nuff said Yifter.

  • Defar was seriously ill in Berlin. That was not her in her best form; she's defeated Cheruiyot on 11 occasions (including the world athletics final); she, Melkamu (who unfortunately isn't that good at championship races, to Masai's advantage), and Dibaba have opened a floodgate of sub-30min 10Ks.

The marathon I'll admit you won fair and square, but the marathon, unlike track events, favors quantity over quality top class athletes. Let's see if Abel Kirui can keep that form; I doubt it.

  • well, in berlin Ethiopia had best team including runners who won titles in amman jordan. But did they won anything in berlin??????????? No it was all about KENENISA BEKELE.

  • The big problem for Kenya is the absence of consistency, management, and development. Its constant recycling of its best athletes is hindering its ability; Noah Ngeny was Kenya's top miler, and yet they decided to cut him from the 2001 team (leading to the ensuing car accident); Sammy Kitwara might've performed better than most Kenyans in Berlin, yet he too was cut. The list goes on...

  • NO!!! you are the one who dont get the point. we are not talking about 2 best runners.we are talking about in generaly in all team. the country whitch have bean producing most runners who can replace others when they are injured. and thats what i have never see about . ETHIOPIA.

  • @mrembo87 Nope, you're wrong. Bekele was injured during last year's world cross country, but still an Ethiopian (Gebremariam) managed the title. Gebre and the others have far more consistency. You can boast of your quantity, but your best can't conquer as well as the Ethiopians.

  • we can beat all your big and best names.

  • whitch other ethiopians a thier apart from dibaba defar and bekele??????. it does not matter if masai will continue to win or not the point is that she beat all ethiopians in 2009. she beat dibaba when dibaba was not injuerd in new york.now it was bekele.nuff said.

  • if the realy quality is missing how come we beat all your big names 2009 and 2010???????.

  • You're not getting the point: the Kenyans you mention have only beaten Ethiopians like Gebreselassie, Bekele, Defar, and Dibaba on the few occasions that they aren't at their best, or by some form of upset. Dibaba wasn't injured in New York, but having missed months of training through injury, you can't expect her to be at her best. Soon, like most of the other Kenyans, Masai will become a thing of the past... Dibaba and Bekele are the best of the best.

  • if the realy guality is missing how come we beat all your big names 2009 and 2010???????.

  • thats remind me.hey Yifterthe Shifter have you heard the news of this year cross country 9k mens race in britain??? yep the one so called your kenenisa bekele was 4th.1-2 -3 went to kenya.with young joseph ebuya.nuff said.

  • @mrembo87 Key word here: consistency. Bekele has won this race three times, but just had a bad day. Bekele defeated Ebuya and Kipchoge in last year's 5000m at the world championships, Ebuya at the 2008 World Championships (at the same venue), Kipchoge in 2005 completely fell apart from Bekele's surges, even when Bekele wasn't fresh (or did you forget that Bekele won the long/short course five years in a row?) Face it: the Kenyans have great quantity, but the real quality is missing...

  • Haaahaaaaaaaaa Yifterthe Shifter baby you make me laugh.are you forgeting the winner of 1500 in berlin was original kenyan too?????.if u dont know then know that.lagat got bronce too.the other kenya.

  • @mrembo87 So, that must mean that Kenya (its coaches and athletics institutions) are inferior to other institutions? That the training of its athletes is not sufficient to outdo training of its own by another coach/ athletics body? Or do Kenya's athletes have better motives to represent other countries? Note that two Kenyans representing other countries medaled in the 5000m- the best representing Kenya couldn't outdo two former Kenyans.

  • The song to this video is------------ Seven Cities by SolarStone.

  • Everybody, don't listen to this "Mrembro" person. If you recall, he said that the Kenyans would sweep the podium in Berlin in the 1500m (1. Kiprop, 2. Keitany, 3. Choge) when his inconsistent heroes didn't even win a single medal (one of them didn't even make the final!)

  • jelimo wa injuered.

  • how fast are they running?!?!?

  • Just under 16mph on average.

  • kenya holds half marathon,3000m,2 mile 1000m records.kenya has junoir world records 800m 10000m.i cant see ethiopia or morroco juniors.

  • BlueEliminator1 Shut the fuck up.Morrocans never won gold medals for the past three years. 2007,2008 and 2009so what are u trying to tell me???? that they are in the same class with the kenyans?????? fagot.

  • there is no Kenyan runners who dominates for many years, Kenya = quantity, Morocco and Ethiopia =quality

  • Yifterthe Shifter chinis athlete holds 10000m womens world record and kenyan linet masai hold junior world record. kenya samuel wanjiru broke gebre half marathon record when he was 18 so shut up.

  • @mrembo87 No, he broke Paul Tergat's half marathon world record when he was 18, and Gebreselassie's when he was 20. Let's see if Masai can continue to win titles like the great names of Dibaba, Defar, and other Ethiopians.

  • Yifterthe Shifter chinis athlete holds 10000m womens world record and kenyan linet masai hold junior world record.

  • Could anyone please tell me what is the music being played

  • Its hilarious because Kenya has excellent runners constantly pouring out of their country. Morocco on the other hand sees excellent runners every once in a while like Guerrouj. Getting to the point is that because Kenya has so many good runners, none of them seem to surpass the great Hicham Guerrouj and his untouchable world records. El guerrouj focused almost entirely on the 1500m and the mile. If he really attempted to practice the 3000m he could of smashed Daniel Komen world record.

  • word

  • El Guerrouj did attempt to beat Komens 7:20 on numerous occasions, however, that WR is probably one of the most impressive distance performances ever. 7:23 was super quick for El G.

  • @RawMarketingSolution Actually, at his best, El Guerrouj raced only once at 3000m outdoors, and it was that 7:23.09 performance in 1999. The other times were a 7:49.84 in 1994 and a respectable 7:30.23 in 2003.

  • Think you can find me El G videos of 1995 and 2001 World Champ finals?

Just did research, he ran the 4:44 WR only 4 days after the 7:23.

  • @RawMarketingSolution No, I'm sorry. I haven't seen either video in a while.

And you're right: the 4:44 was four days after the meet in Brussels where he ran 7:23.

  • is the 5k from 2000 around anywhere?

  • i like the camera angles, they really make me feel like im a camera man in the best possible position, its a credit to the coach of the camera man

  • and your elgerouj never come closer to komens 3000m record or komens 2 miles either.

  • So what? El Guerrouj ran only one race over 3000m, and it was the 2nd fastest in history. As I recall, Komen's first race over 3000m was 7:38 (and mind you, this is the distance he excelled at).

None of the Kenyans have gotten close to El Guerrouj's records, EXCEPT in races where El Guerrouj was running (Rome '99, Zurich '00, '04, Brussels '01 etc...).

So don't go squaring off with me over some bullshit, got that?

  • shut your ass up kenya has more than 200 runners in marathon only.kenya dominate every thing.400m to marathon.we know ethiopia has bekele and gebre.morroco elgerouj.

  • Uh... when's the last time a Kenyan has beaten a world class field over 400?

Yes, Kenyans have great marathon depth, but when your champion stepped up with the Ethiopian champion (Gebre vs. Kibet), the result: DNF! I don't want to criticize Kibet, especially after his splendid 2:04.27, but he continues the tradition of Kenyans' lack of consistency.

  • Yifterthe Shifter 1 shut your ass up.We kenyans dont fuck only your mens asses but also your womens.like we did in berlin both 10000m and 5000m.

  • No, you shut your ass up. The Kenyans may have great speed and depth, but the lack of consistency is so obvious: men and women who become world champions at age 18 never reaching that sort of form again. Why, wasn't Pamela Jelimo the best 800m runner last year? WJR, Olympic Champion, Jackpot winner? Didn't even make the final this year...

  • And one more thing: when you want to reply to my comments, click the reply link, unless you're too much of a coward to have an argument with me.

  • El Guerrouj was great. Look at the 1500m now with him gone, it's a joke.

  • @Cornbag Yeah it is a joke now they rarely go under 3:30 now

  • guerrouj the most greater clean and assidiute athelete in his desciplines ,a hiiigh level ! I'm not a gay man , but I love you XD

  • and if they catch Bekele . . . Geb will have his records back

  • wilson kipketer,Benard lagat and shaif shaheen.if it was not for this runner no country would have beaten kenya in even single championships.

  • what are funny person are you.wilson kipketer is kenyan living in denmark does not make him denish.he is kenyan and will alwy be.

  • what is the music?

  • Solarstone - Seven Cities

  • thak you

  • The person who set the 800m world record was born in Kenya but he changed his appearence when he went to Denmark to go to a good school, then he became a Denmark citizen to run pro, so actually the 800m world record doenst belong to Kenya {Wilson Kipketer}

  • After the respect at the end of this race you just think about denied the existence of morocco, ethiopian champions. There is just one thing who is sure that it's not you who can compet like that. Try it and after talk.

  • ibet no one can ever break records of 800m 1:41:11, 3000m 7:20:69, half marathon 58;33 and finaly olympic marathon 2;6.32except kenyans them selves.

  • ryan hall has a good shot at both the half and full marathon

  • also 1000 m 2:11.96 Noah Ngeny

  • who was the first man in the world to run marathon under 2:5 minutes?hes name is paul tergat where is he from?who is the first and the only huma being in the world have run 3000m with only 7:20 :69 hes name is daniel komen

  • it's 7:20.67 not 7:20.69.

  • where are you ethiopians and morrocans in commonwealth games?where are you morrocans and ethiopians in world youth champions?where are you in world juniour champions?.its all about kenya my friend.

  • am not done yet.that is only track .lets look at city marathons and road races whitch mens have bean winning?where are they from?befor bekele arrived who have been wining cross country?

  • KENYA, ETHIOPIA AND MORROCCO mens MEDALS in world champions since 1983 to 2007.kenya mens 24 Golds Ethiopia 8 golds Morroco 6.kenya is king or not?

  • world championships mens events since 1983 to 2oo7.800m kenya have won 7 times,Morroco O Ethiopia O.1500 kenya 1 Ethiopia O.3000m st kenya all the way 9 times Morroco O ethiopia O.5000m kenya 7times Ethiopia O morroco 2 times.marathon kenya 2 times morroco 3.10000m ethiopia 7 kenya 3 morroco 2.

  • who is this funny calling him selve sangankan2.Dont even compere our kenya kings to your elguerrouj. when it comes to long and middle distances kenya is best and not even you or ethiopians can come near.

  • Hicham's failure in this run was more of a psychological failure because he had so much pressure on him to win due to his past olympic failure when he fell down on the track with 400m to go. Hicham is way better than Ngeny, in fact he is the best middle distance runner of all the times, Kenyans are good runners but North Africans (Moroccans/Algerians) have always dominated the middle distance.

  • That's not true brother, check Olympic and world championship records and see how many times Kenyans alone have won compared to the entire North Africa. I hope you understand.

  • Right, aside from Guerrouj almost all the good north african runners have cheated! Look it up at iaaf. Ali Sief, Ramzi, Auita gave his athletes he coached drugs and was very suspicious himself, boulami tested positive, skah, hissou, all of them except guerrouj.

  • What's the name of the song?¡ nicee!!

  • Solar Stone Atlantis Mix is the name of the song

  • Ngeny would have been the best ever if he didn't get in a car crash shortly after his olympic success. The greatest runners are the kenyans they are clean, the ethiopians and north africans are all suspicious.

  • ngeny is a sucker , he would never be able to run the 1500 in 3:26 (what el guerrouj did) . and by the way el guerrouj fucked lagat in athens 2004 (you see him dying in the final straight line but el guerrouj is stronger) . in beijing 2008 the winner of 1500 is rashid ramzi (another morrocan naturalized by bahrein) , so where are your kenyans sucker ??

  • Oh wait, Rashid Ramzi used steroids sucker! Just like Said Auita, just like morceli just like boulami just like all the north africans. Maybe Guerrouj was clean but thats it. Ramzi just gave up his gold to asbel kiprop kenyan sucker hahahahahahaha where are your morrocans now? Ngeny was better.

  • good job of cheating though, can't beat the kenyans without it I guess

  • hey what do you know! Ali Saïdi-Sief, another great north african runner was banned in 2001 for cheating........

  • I wish so much i had El Guerroujs ability to run like that. His style of running is perfect, great stride, good arm swing, and he knows when and where to start his final kick. Infact, my dream is to go to Morocco for a week and visit him. Oh and by the way, good job Noah Ngeny, not many people can beat The great Hicham Guerrouj

  • Agree he is a great but obviously but dont agree with you when you say "he knows where and when to start his final kick" because he obviously had a shocker in this race!

  • Poor fool. The El G vs. every single Kenyan runner you've matched against him is 85-4. I can tell you're jealous.

  • Tell me: if he was on steroids... why didn't the IAAF/ IOF snatch his medals? You know why? Because this accusation comes from your ass, not your brain (that is, if you have one). Y'allah. Keep accusing every runner that your Kenyan heroes can't beat of steroids... remain the ugly conspiracy theorist you are. See if it earns you any credibility.

  • Can someone please tell me why they run the 1500m, instead of the 1600m?

And I thought I was good just almost breaking 5

  • Because they aren't fucking American.

  • damn straight hhhhhhhhhh

  • because for american high schools have the 1600m and the 3200m because they are closer to 1 and 2 miles, and we obviously use the american measuring system.

for professionals they have the 1500m and the 3000m because 1500 is exactly 1.5 kilometers and 3000m is exactly 3 kilometers, and obviously the rest of the world uses the metric system (which is way better).

  • I think the real reason is that it is the shortest race not run in lanes. If you run 1500 meters, you have an entire 100 meter straightaway to sort things out. Otherwise (1600), you have everyone trying to get to the inside lane in the first 30 meters and you are asking for trouble. The runners need room to get ready for the first turn. It is not as important to have a good position on the first lap of a 3,000 or 5000 meter race.

  • true, because then there are people getting tripped, and the possibility of having to start the race over

  • well it depends on how old you are.

  • does anybody know Hicham el guerrouj

height / weight / and inside leg measurement

as I need it for college sports profile

  • Elguerrouj: Berkane,Morocco DOB Sep22,1974. Height 5'10 Weight. 140

  • can someone explain to me when the last 100m starts? is it right when they come off the turn, or a little bit before they come off the turn?

  • Last 100m start around 3m before the final rect.

  • ok thanks

  • A little bit before the straightaway.

  • What is music? who is artist? it`s very nice music:)

    Znacie tytuł tej piosenki?

  • Solar stone-seven cities

  • Hicham is good but Im still happy noah won cause he couldnt run anymore cause of his car crash

  • Hicham is the best mid-distance runner ever, no doubt. I have always loved to see his back-kick with 500m left.

    He is still the king!!!!

  • Elguerouj is the great legend

  • excuses aside, the guy got beat. go kenya. we are proud of you.
