Egyptian Food in Cairo

egyptians can't cook for the life of them. I could honestly say that of all the middle eastern countries, they are by far the worst when it comes to cooking. In my book the Lebanese are number one,the Syrian are in second place, and the Palestinians come in third in cooking. The rest of the Arab countries aren't even a challenge, let alone know how to cook eadable food compared to those three.

@samlo6 learn how to spell correctly before attempting to to insult anyone or any nation. I'm Lebanese and Egyptian and I spend the summer in both countries their food is different it does not make one better than the other.

Egyptians cooking ....very low hygiene, no gloves, nothing... hands on face nose and then food...Ive been to Egypt and the people there are very dirty, I advise everyone going to Egypt to be careful.

Food needs proper sanitation and a high level of cleansiness, and this is not found in Egypt.

Next thing this guy will do is blow his nose in the food....and you'll eat it coz its a local egyprtian dish for ur savory taste...nothing exquisite about ur food weather in 5 star hotels or popular crowded areas...even if it taste good...its dirty trust me , your restaurants do not pay much attention to cleanliness and everything goes coz there is no liability or inspection on ur food industry and facilities

Ive tried that in Egypt its called Koshare, made of a blend of pasta, rice, lentils, chick peas, carmelized onions. What makes it good is the variety of tomatoe sauce that its served with, the sauce could be spicy, mild or just plain. Its a simple food that tastes great with the sauce that makes all the difference.

Actually Ive been to egypt and i lived there for 5 months, and the Food there is Very Clean and Good for you, Theres more Real food there then Fake food (burger king , mcdonalds etc etc...) and the real food is always made from scratch, Like the one in the video, This recipe has been around for 1000 years, They make it fast but its always hygenic trust me i should know...

i know a lot of people who travel half way across the world to eat koshary, fiteer, foul, falafel, om aly and many other delicious recipies. And as BankOFganja said, Egyptians DO have "real food". They have their own corporate identity when it comes to this particular area of expertise. So please don't go around and judge based on a youtube video where people are saying their plate is full of delicious food!

Boil some brown lentils with a dash of cumin powder and a drop of oil Make some rice with rice noodles

Boil some spaghetti and any other type of pasta.When the rice lentils and pasta are ready are ready mix them gently in a big plate .Prepare the onion topping which is fried slices of onions till very brown

Prepare tomato sauce by adding salt pepper and chilli powder.Prepare spicy sauce by adding garlic lemon cumin powder and vinegar also some salt to some water and boil
