can someone please tell me exactly what the guy on the right is using to get this tone?, this is exactly what i need tone wise, obviously you're using the Randall Rg50, but what pedals are you playing through?, cuz i sounds like theres a noise gate, and maybe a compressor in the mix?, anyway, great fucking tone dude, very brutal and exactly what im looking for
Oh, I have this amp, can you say me how can I make this type of sound, I can´t find it!, So can you recomend me the equipament an EQ for this sound? Thanks!
Maybe try another cabinet? something closed back to tighten it up (open back cabs are way too loose for hard rock /metal) increase your hi's and middle a tad. Out of all the demos Ive heard of this amp none have sounded the least bit muddy. The only way I can describe its hi gain sound is that its a very boutique sounding hi-gain, like a bogner...tight, but vintage midrange-y Jerry Cantrell type tone
i strongly recommend to anyone to use a noise surpressor pedal to take out the hum feedback, its great but you need to turn it right up to really get the most of the gain, and thats where the hum and nopise gets annoying, so yeah great amp but should be used with a noisegate pedal if u gonnna turn the gain up high
ever think they just played the song, then later they got the shots for the plug in, and the close up? every pro vid is eddited in some way, sound, title ect
maybe...but this doesn't seem too edited at all. The sound isn't mastered sounding, very little compression. Also the drums sound like a they were created in a program. I'm fairly certain they just recorded this as the drums played and switched to the mics towards the amps instead of using the camera or room mics
QUESTION PEOPLE... am i right in sayin tube amps are high in distortion and have little or no feedback/hum. BUT.. are prone to breakdowns??? with the pre amps etc
not all tube amps r high in distortion, fender, equater, vox etc... r known for classic clean tones and r mostly tube. randall, krank, madison, engl, r known for high gain and r tube. it depends on the amp. yes they have way less feedback and humm but do breakdown mor, tubes gotta be replaced about 2 years or wen they break(glass) but in most cases sound nicer.
solid states generally have more preamp gain. tube amps might or might not have more noise/hum. and they are more prone to breakdowns than solid state, but they're easier to repair
because here, it is peavey sheffield hp (1290); in KHN myspace, it is celestion seventy 80 hp...and of, course, here, there is no high pass filter because there is no bass guitar...so it sounds bigger...
im thinking of buying this amp, is it a bit advanced for a learning guitarist, well i been playing over a year now. but i believe in getting a great amp then there no nered for all theese pedals/expensive guitars
yo, i have both, rh150 is very very louder than rg50tc....if you need an amp to play with drummer, rg50 is a bit small, rh150 will be better...if you play with sono rg50tc is amazing....
My cube 30 (which is a solid state) is just not loud enough too handle band rehearsals (yay for the bass player his PA!! ^^) But an all tube combo 50 watts should easily be loud enough for small gigs without PA and big gigs with PA... the rg should kick a drummers ass when it comes to volume since its a 50 watts tube combo
anyways, do you recommend the rg50tc to a die-hard metallica fan who is lead guitarist in a metalband?
yes i recommend this amp for metallica fan because, kirk is now on randall...it is a wonderful amp but it doesn't sound like metallica...it sounds very modern metal...
Yeah i know that kirk has his own signature amp at randall but kirk has never used randall amplifiers... He usually uses mesa boogie dual rectifiers and no randall which i find quite weird as he has his own signature amp at randall
But yeah, awesome amps like the mesa also carry awesome price tags and i can't afford that
I want the RG50tc to tubepower my PODx3. Is the cleanchannel good? And on what channel did these 2 bald guys play? Is this the most extreme setting? Because I also want to use the amp for extreme deathcore and the tone of the 2 bald guys is good but I don´t think it´s extreme enough. :S
do you mean the RG50TC? because if so, take it. since its tube and at 50 watts, it will get veeery loud. ive never gotten to play one, but it seems like a better buy
oh the guy a few down was asking how he could get heavy distortion sounds like this, and i just recomended the Boss MD-2, i have toooo faults at all with this video ;)
have a boss HM-2 , sounds "crap" in it if you want death metal distortion . sounds nice for drone and stoner ... clean sound is not awesome but useable . distortion kills . pantera mixed with some tube amp soul ... lovely tone. could be tighter i think , but i don't want a tight amp if it's as sterile as ENGL are . definitively recommend this amp :D
if you have another questions , don't hestitate to ask me ...
hey man, is the reverb on the amp usable? i tried a randall RG200 at a shop. on clean settings i could hear some of the reverb if at max but with distortion on even at maximum i couldn't hear it. my main axe is a dean from hell. if i don't take this one i think i'm gonna get a fender blues deluxe because that one I KNOW that it has great cleans and i can just put a digitech grunge and get pretty heavy distortion
they are called pinch harmonics and there is a difference between pick squeals and pinch harmonics.i can pick squeal like a champ but cant do pinch harmonics for dick
bass 5, mid&treble 7, gain1 6...with sheffield loudspeaker inside (the same as in the peavey ultra+ cabinet), it is very good too with a celestion g12h 100
ahah, pour une demo de gratte, on s'est dit k'on allait rester sage...histoire de voir les manches, lol, on bougera dans le clip....

if you have money, take rh150g3 valve head and some nice box
if you don't have much money then take rg50tc, it is great even for small gig, for something bigger borrow someone's box and that's it :D
and buy some noise reducers or distortions ;)
(i will buy rg50tc and korg ax1500g soon)

the rh150g3 is solid state dude

rh150g3 is solid state or transistor (same thing)
but the rg50tc should do at any gig... at bigger gigs, they will let you use their PA so its allright

You can do pinch harmonics from every amp, just use the right technique, and turn open the gain.
Randall amps are really metal amps, i own the randall rx120d, they are made for metal, so you can pinch harmonics on this amp.
