  • He looks angry in the beginning...lol

But it turned out very good. lol

  • god damn i cant stand how this guy shakes his hair around... but besides that this song is amazing.

  • on this piece. h'is No.1 forever. much the ''Heroique''!!!!!

  • By comparison with Rubinstein this is very mediocre

  • @tim60s321 This cannot be mediocre. Bunin put's so much emotion into this piece. Each interpretation can be to each persons liking but this- this is a masterpiece.

  • @SebmendezMusic Yes of course this isnt mediocre-I must have been very tired when I wrote that. I had been working my way through many different performances and was snowed under . However I still think Rubinstein played with the greatest precision and feeling but who am I to judge. I could never play anywhere near as well. The biggest disappointment was an early performance by Lang Lang and I am hoping someone will put up a better one soon. It is wonderful to see these performances on YT.

  • such discipline and passion felt..

  • He's beautiful!

  • @Universidadinvisible That is the most accurate description of Stanislav Bunin ever!!!

  • what a moron buahahha

  • Good!

  • To PsycheLovesEros: Sorry but he got married with his Russian-Japanese interpreter and now have some children with whom he made a concert sometime ago in Japan.

  • Stanislav Bunin is my hero!!!!!!! I love him!!! This is the best interpretation of this piece ever!!!!

  • perfeito.

  • Work those beiber bangs!

  • 4:24 - 5:16 He makes me smile :D so much emotion x)!

  • didn't think that playing piano like this was humanly possible..

  • @hfluffo valentina lisitsa's version is better

  • @Garudanime faster does not mean better.

  • kissin plays with too much pedal,

Bunin's version is perfect,I can feel the momentum and the pride of this song, just like a hero's standing in front of me.

  • i think i'm in love with him. or maybe chopin. or perhaps just music.

  • @rjgxjhs welcome to the club hahaha

  • Second only to Argerich and Rubenstein (those two tie for winner)

  • thurs song is soy kickass

  • wonderfully played. this is how i imagined chopin to play it himself. a very forceful piece, elegant and strong. i enjoyed it very much.

  • when they convulse it gets really annoying.

  • the best version that i hv ever heard! absolutely brilliant!!

  • cant stop watching this... bunin marry me please

  • intresting.. but nothing more.. I've heard many better performances..

i dislike the excessive use of sustain pedal in certain parts, and perfect tempo.. it's like he brought the metronome with him..

but it's always a matter of viewpoints :)

  • @BrunoCt86 Yes, the perfect tempo is troubling me a bit also. But it is great performance :)

  • @BrunoCt86 A polonaise is a dance. How difficult would it be to dance to something that isn't in tempo??? :-P

  • @LetItBe920 You're probably right.. but i thought this piece wasnt intended to be danced, but to be interpreted!

I prefer other performances anyway :D although this remains very interesting!

  • @LetItBe920 in fact, the heroic polonaise was not a true polonaise' style.

  • He's sexy...

  • @juliburton omg you understand me hahahahaah

  • @PsycheLovesEros Absolutely! He's amazing in every way...

  • ive just fallen in love with him

  • @PsycheLovesEros - Cute comment. He is very good.

  • @TheLovelyPiano ohhh i think hes amazing at playing... and very cute aswell :]

  • Here is another precious, rare gem! Stanislav Bunin performance of Chopin - Polonaise As-Dur op 53 "Heroique" is perfect. His enthusiasm and passion re evident and the result is an unparalleled exceution. No need to say, he won the competition. Bravo!!!

  • he is aweeesome !

  • Such a deep performance !

  • Well, you can't say it isn't interesting. It keeps your attention the whole way through. ^_^ Yea, it isn't the smoothest (as other people are saying) but I'd say it's still a pretty darn good job. This is one of the hardest pieces I've ever played to keep it smooth.

  • @Lypur I've seen your videos! You're awesome! And totally right, I've played this as well and it isn't easy.

  • @Lypur

It doesn't sound the smoothest probably because of the sound quality, and he does play a little rough sometimes. But this rendition is the most original one I have ever heard and the most interesting. I must say it resonates with me the best. The traditional way of playing this bores the hell out of me.

  • He's so cool !

  • @alexmorrison23 In my humble opinion, he seems to play like Chopin would have played. Haunted, but gentle. Way to passionate, but needing to get his feelings out!

    I really LOVE his interpretation.

    Just saying....

  • Litości ludzie jeśli nie potraficie zrozumieć utworu to lepiej nie komentujcie- bo teraz to większość ludzi ma przyklapnięte przez słonia uszy -.-" i wystarcza im muza typu disco...no comment

  • ..this interpretation is worst than Blechacz's - just listen how smove it is....I don't understand Bunin at all

  • GOD !

  • So nice to hear this played with such passion. He deserved the prize if only for this bravura performance. Nice video, thanx for sharing.

  • Simplemente me encanta....

  • who cares the movement in his head?? !!!!SHARP!!! you are far away what music means. Feeling and tears in my eyes is what music feels, It is shame that guys like him write lines here.

  • terrible.... witold malcuzynski do a best interpretation of this piece

  • @samaroff ..... witold best interpretation was recording in the 1956 year

  • i dont care who's the best polonaise interpretation, i just love to listen to anyone who let me feel the dance... LOL.

  • Too much movement of the head, but good playing

  • @llllShArPllll

Yes that's true,I wonder if he started filling dizy !!!!!!!

  • who chasing this man ? he looks like he's enjoying it but plays like he's in the hurry ... running through every frase almost like a machine ...sorry but i dont like it ..

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT! I LOVE THAT!

  • It's interesting how many pianists race through the scales, but, they are so interested in doing the next leap after the scales that they aren't finishing the scales with the right EmPHasis. I'm not saying he doesn't play great. It's just something I've noticed with many pianists that have to deal with high speed material. They sometimes don't complete the phrases with the best dynamics.

    Anyway, still enjoyed his performance.

  • das beste musik stück evaaa^^

  • Love his interpretation of this beautiful piece!!

  • Im sorry, Im just not getting the right emotions from this guy's playing. He's great, don't get me wrong, but it just seems...off. I really don't know what it is. :/

  • @Cajuncooked666 - It's you.

  • I really agree! It is so heavy, and the first 4 minutes he plays FF almost all the time. I think his playing here lacks elegance, graze and structure.

  • świetnie interpretuje te utwory...

  • @Neuhaus43 u probably read the books by Neuhaus on piano, well they are shit.

  • Exaggeration...

  • excuse me. what is going on to his health?

  • hahahahaha

  • Recover soon, Bunin, we crave to welcome you back in performance--you help keep Chopin's passion alive!

  • Why do you talk like that?

Do you know any news about Bunin?

    Does he give concerts?

  • @victusAiterum do you know why did he retire from the scenes?

  • Excelente ejecución!

  • Bunin, great performance!

Thanks for giving us the chance to enjoy your passion, talent and technic.

I hope God help you to recover your health soon....

  • Comment removed

  • Sadly Bunin is currently very sick

  • @Lappith - Omg! What is wrong?

  • You should rather make less mistakes in your postings!

  • Tak Poloneza op.53 wykonał Rosjanin i wygrał Konkurs...

Tyle jeśli chodzi o uprzedzenia Polaków wobec Rosjan...

Przepiękny występ i gratulacje dla Bunina!

  • This is by far, the best interpretation of this polonaise, he keeps such precision of tempo and touch at the same time. He also looks like the husband from the julia robert's movie "Sleeping with the enemy" weird ha.

  • @MrSamc94 - I don't know if he looks like him, but he plays this piece as though he were the husband in Sleeping with the Enemy. This is the way her husband would play this. Very masculine and tough. lololol

  • very powerful interpretation.. I like how he keeps the tempo at a steady beat throughout the piece. I'd prefer it with a little more dynamics although it's not bad but I feel like it could be better, more romantic perse

  • amazing he is a wonderful .. yeah people u better listen to dang dang or evgeny kissing that maniac..

  • this is music, darling, not a beauty competition...

  • very masculine - he has the right chopin "sound" !

too quick in 2:03, but otherwise : wow!

and: he is a musician, not an engine - so who cares on little technical mistakes?

  • Who cares about all the stupid critiques when this man WON the competition with this very performance. Sure, there are some errors surprisingly, but the judges felt he out performed his opponents, so that's all that matters. I think this is pretty impressive myself. This song is no picnic I tell you. I say give the man a standing "O" and shut up already. To all the complainers, can you play it better?

    'Thought so.

    GREAT performance!

  • His "hero" sounds very err, big and hairy, like those Viking heroes. You know, the kind that has breastplate and greaves and has hair down to the shoulders with a HUGE beard...

  • GabrielleduVent, that's what I LOVE about it. It sounds so POWERFUL. It's awesome, isn't it?

    ; )

I love the way he plays, moves with a lot of emotion, throwing his hair back. Quite cute.

  • his hair looks like a wig!

  • I'm just glad he didn't lose his glasses, the way he's performing. I love this! He's awesome, awesome, AWESOME!

  • This piece has impossible stretches. lol

  • He really takes you for a RIDE! WOW!! I LOVE this. The best I've heard and seen!

This performance deserves 100 stars, but can only give five. lol

    Amazing!

  • chopinandliszt, I hope not.

WOW! What a performance! This is the best I've seen. He's so into it. Whew! I'm also working on this, but I sound NOTHING like this. lol I love how he shakes his hair around. cute. lol

  • shut the fuck up. Rubinsteins version of this suckS

    FUCKASS!!

    this one is WAYYYYYYY better!

  • kempff95, this guy is far from ugly and gay. He's handsome and STRAIGHT! You can tell he's straight - a girl just knows.

    ; )

  • kempff95, as marcheydenreich says, VERY MASCULINE! Listen to him. Does that playing sound "gay" to you? Are you freak'n kidding ME? There is NOTHING gay about this man. Also, read what GabrielleduVent wrote. lol Funny comment he made that Bunin plays like a big, hairy Viking HEROES. He's write. This is very powerful and I love it! No one's comparing him to Rubinstein. If Rubinstein is great, that means you should speak ugly of this man?

  • he seems to have a lot of control, good version if not played a little too fast!

  • extraordinary technique, best version ever!

  • no matter if that's funny or not i heard that guy won chopin' s warsaw contest in some eightees. that still does mean he was for a while the best pianist in the world

  • I like his runs

  • yes - in some respects very good but the many mistakes spoil the overall performance.

    Thanks

  • why is he mad at chopin ? wrongly performed

  • Goddamn, either do it better, or stop pretending to be. I cannot stand commentators who ridicule every flaw. As if this piece weren't hard enough already.

  • Piece mui bien executada...Bravíssimo!!!!!!!!

  • Imagine! A version actually played as if it a were a polonaise. You can actually hear the rythym of the polonaise clearly. This is wonderful and its a pity more people don't take the time to work on the pacing and rythym of the polonaise.

  • Great interpetation!!!

I'm not sure but I think that in 02:42 there's a chord mistake lol

(Not that I'm underate his performance,it's just a fact...I'm little near this guy,I wish I would make ten mistakes if could play like this XD)

  • I think isn't any mistake, it sounds clearly.
