@SebmendezMusic Yes of course this isnt mediocre-I must have been very tired when I wrote that. I had been working my way through many different performances and was snowed under . However I still think Rubinstein played with the greatest precision and feeling but who am I to judge. I could never play anywhere near as well. The biggest disappointment was an early performance by Lang Lang and I am hoping someone will put up a better one soon. It is wonderful to see these performances on YT.

It's interesting how many pianists race through the scales, but, they are so interested in doing the next leap after the scales that they aren't finishing the scales with the right EmPHasis. I'm not saying he doesn't play great. It's just something I've noticed with many pianists that have to deal with high speed material. They sometimes don't complete the phrases with the best dynamics.
