Instead of copying only the specific files, why not replace the entire system32 folder? It would kill a lot of malware? Why not even all the system files apart from docs and settings?
I know you do these vids just for demo purposes, but some people commented using this to fix post infections is the wrong message. Backup, format, reinstall and restore! The whole point is to prevent attacks, not waste time cleaning up after them.
I don't understand how people can expect ANY anti-virus package to fix a system AFTER an infection of this nature. Especially when rootkits such as this patch kernel mode drivers that would require a reinstall of the OS to remove them.
took time off to fix your computer problem??? I like how windows boxes have controlled our lives more than we think- thanks for the post- enjoyed your video
just installed ESET on a XP Home -1800 AMD -740MB- regained all my system resources- and I've tried just about everything- was skeptikal about this- but it's a keeper- will know after my trial period- also gonna checkout your DefenseWall- sounds like a good product

@rahmanroni Thanks but we all know that ESET Smart Security + Malwarebytes is the only 2 security software's you will truly need unless your one of those dumbasses that always downloads shit and doesn't pay attention to what that dumbass is downloading. Really, no one should ever need these softwares but we all know when it comes to teh interwebz/torrents, there will be those who don't ever use COMMON SENSE anymore.
Would this software be good if your computer is not yet heavily infected, but need an internet security suite that is more effective. I ok with computers, norton, kaspersky, bit defender, and norton 360 are pretty easy for my to set up for the most part.
uhh ESET nod32 stopped 36 viruses from installing on my pc...and yes there all the conflicker =P. It was on Ipods, phones, flash drivers exc but it took em off and fucked there asses!
My first thoughts were 'why would you install an antivirus on an already infected PC'? Antivirus programs work best on non-infected PC's -- stopping malware BEFORE they take hold of the system. This review would have been better if he hammered the system with viruses/trojans/rootkits after installing the program.
Using NOD32 before you're 'this' infected will make sure you never get infected. It's almost fun watching NOD32 pick up viruses and clean them because it's so easy and it's basically the best
Alot of people miss the point of ant malware programs, which is to keep the system running clean long enough so that you can use your pc, not so that you never have to reinstall windows and most likely it will have to be reinstalled eventually, a clean backup image makes that job much easier. There needs to be better anti-malware solutions available, or you'd have to reimage at a much more frequent rate; the day u have to reimage every day to keep a clean pc is the day malware has won.
Eh I disagree. See my post above. "If you use nod32 before you infect it with heavy malware, it will stop the whole thing at it's beginning." I don't see why anyone would use anything else
HIPS products are the future. just trap everything in a sandbox and delete the sandbox, period done. Keep the system running in a stable state longer than antivirus'. But also there should be something said about reimaging the system from a clean image, everyone should be doing this, create a clean image and reimage every couple or few months. Also virtualization, browse the web in a virtual machine and don't save changes.
great work!! thank!! hahahaaaaaaaaaa..that was hilarious man..funny malware..oh jeah..I went from avira to kaspersky 8 and it kinda feels much more secure!! but I'm also exited about avira 9!! So that, sir, is up to you than..see ya ; )
in order to reset the tcp/ip stack you can use netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt in the command line in order to do so rather than a third party utility. You could copy the log from another computer too.
I have to say that I think you should not do a review when you are tired and pressed. I found this review to be very confusing and unclear. i don't know what to make of ESET after viewing this review. This review lacks your usually clarity. Please make a Part 3 to better explain/illustrate the abilities of ESET 4. I believe you owe that to ESET and to your perhaps not so tech-savy fans such as my self..

one of the reason i use nod32 is because its like the only antivirus that can block conficker.
remember nod32 can only stop it when it tries to go on your computer if its already on then you install it somehow your fked in the a =P
