  • Looks like you are a 3b/3c

  • no way is in the 4's are you crazy its 3b/3c sorry not trying to be rude just informing you

  • Comment removed

  • your hair is pretty! But you are definitely not in the 4's. Most likely you are a 3b/3c

  • she`s a pevert ewww.

  • it looks mostly 3c with some 4a to me. 4a and 3c are really close but the thing that stands out the most to me is that 3c has more of a tendency to hang than 4a

  • You're not a 4 at all.....you are a 3b/3c,,,,these are wavy loose s curl pattern, you lack the courseness that comes with 4's

  • @nicegirlnatural2 Remember, it's soaking wet which will add shine, sleekness, and weigh the curls down.

  • @nicegirlnatural2 Plus it's long, which will weigh the curls down as well.

  • @manyara02 this is actually kind of wrong. 2 is wavy 3 is curly and 4 is tightly coiled/zig-zagged. then you have denominations of these (i.e. 2a 2b 3a 3b 3c 4a 4b 4c) and yes there can be different types in your head. the hair on the top of my head in 4a and the hair on the sides is 4b.

  • how long have u been natural

  • i dont see the point of identifying hair textures imean even in the natural world we are still being put in categories from the straightest to the the kinkest...who cares what the hair type is just as long you know what works for your hair it really shouldnt matter what catorgory your hair falls in

  • @1andonlybabyt I agree with you completely

  • @huntley808 thanks=)

  • @1andonlybabyt Well, according to hair specialists it does matter what type of hair one has because it will help you determine the types of products which might work best for your hair type. Loosely curled hair, for example, requires less heavy products be used, whereas more tightly curled hair requires heavier or thicker products be applied to the hair to maintain moisture, avoid breakage and retain length. So, it really does matter. All naturals can not use the same products!

  • have you tried the rosemary mint one I love! lol

  • Can somebody help me with my hair type?? I posted a video on my channel!

  • @Lexia01 I would have to disagree one needs to what their hair texture is to properly maintain and take care of it. Not all hair textures can use the same products or even take the same type of styling.

  • 3c.

  • Your a about a 4a. You cannot determine your hair type when it is completely wet like that. You have to wait for it to dry with no product. Though I personally think blacks are too concentrated on hair typing. Just let your hair be the texture it is. We need to stop worrying about hair typing I believe it's for superficial reasons.

  • Not a 4a,4b or 4c. Your about a 3b or 3c

  • 3c

  • it doesn't matter. Your hair is beautiful

  • Beautiful hair....I just uploaded a video, I'm so confused with the hair type stuff. This is my first time hearing of this....lol! Please help me out..Please click on my name and help me out

  • LOL @ "that's what she said." I got it....The Office is my favorite show!!

  • Definitely wet 4a/b hair. Type 3 curls are typically larger! If the hair is an 's' shape when stretched it's type 4a!

  • 3c

  • Did you call yourself a pervert? LOL!

  • It shouldn't matter but you are a definite 4a. To the people who claim her hair as anything in the 3's category:: What?! Her hair is no way wavy. COILS are clearly visible=)

  • @theabk4u1 Waves are the 2's category. The 3 category is curls. I guess coils would be the 4s.

  • @bronzesparkles Types 2, 3& 4 are all curly types of hair.Type 2 is loosely curled; takes form of "S" curl;lacks body-ranges from fine & thin to thick & coarse hair;requires very light products(mousses, gels). Type 3 is big &loose soft, bouncy curls; lots of curls;requires light products(gels & creams).Type 4 is very tightly curled hair ranging from fine&thin to wiry&coarse hair with lots of curls;shrinks & fragile-requires heavier products for xtra moisture(creams, butters, oils).

  • beautiful 4a hair. :)

  • watching the video wit no product i would say yours is between 3c and 4a tho...def. not 4b...funny hiar can fool you when it's wet

  • mostly everyone would consider me between 4a and 4b and my hair looks as curly as hers when its wet, esp... with conditioner.... we are almost hair twins :)

  • This woman is in the 3s. She is not a 4b or even a 4a because curly hair is more defined with conditioner in it. Wet natural hair in the 4s doesn't look like that when wet. She has a curly curl pattern, your hair doesn't have to have huge ringlets for it to be in the 3s. Those huge ringlets/waves is a 3a pattern anyway. She's a 3c.

  • @bronzesparkles I'm 4a and her hair's indentical to mine. Those are wet coils not curls!

  • @bronzesparkles Factor in density, porosity, coarsness, etc. It's not about "type" alone. Most people here run around thinking "typing" their hair is the end all be all. You can have the same "type" as someone and have a totally different rection to water/shrinkage, etc.

Besides, most humans have more than one level of wave/curl/coil on their head.

  • @bronzesparkles i agree

  • I think you're an absolutely beautiful 4A! LOVE your vids, BTW!

  • I think you're an absolutely beautiful 4A! LOVE your vids, BTW!

  • If you have to wet your hair down first before attempting to type it, you're cheating, Looks like when you're hair is dry you're a combo of 4a and 4b.

  • 4a

  • I will subscribe to you just because you said "That's what she said!" Lol classic line.

  • love yours hair :D

  • 4a/3c

  • this comment is totally off topic but...she used a "that's what she said" joke!!! i luv her!!! lol

  • YOUR CURLS ARE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! =D LOL!

  • Reading the comments it's easy to see that most of the commenters either don't know what the different hair types are or suffer from wishful thinking brought on by wanting their own hair to be some different type!

  • haaaa haaa i got ur pun thats wat she said lmao i thought me n friends only use that lol

  • my hair is a type 4a and right now its short how do i get mines to grow out fast in big

  • Lol thats what she said!

  • @mamacita314 lol

  • Comment removed

  • Really nice curl pattern...I wish I had an even curl pattern around my head. I think that the determining factor will be if your hair looks dry when it's dry

  • how long have you been growing

  • looks like a 4a to me. ur so funny haha. "ima pervert" lmao

  • gorgeous hair!

  • & your hair is not nappy btw..that term is

  • 4a ..it has an S pattern, it doesn't have an O or spirals that make up 3c

  • definately a 3c to me. which is good because that means my hair will get that way eventually :)

  • @TheDezign4u lol! That is not a type 3 hair at all! Not a 3c. That is a solid 4a. Looks lovely I must add :D.

  • I didn't know there was a type. I'm growing my hair out natural now and my waves/curls are really deep especially in the crown. I really like your hair bc it looks so curly lol

  • I've been natural for two years now n hve no idea where to figure out my natural hair type

  • I don't know what your "type" is, but it's really curly and REALLY pretty. :)

    Jen

  • Hahaha " That's what she said" Very Michael Scott from The Office :)

  • luv ur hair

  • Ur hair looks nice. That's all I know:)

  • Ur hair is so pretty wet... lucky lucky girl..

  • totally 3c

  • I think your hair is beautiful, it is 3c because your curls have an s curl pattern not much of a zig zag plus you have the same exact texture as mine and mine does the same thing your does.....and even it it wasn't it doesnt matter your still a beautiful person, thanks for sharing with us.

  • i think your curls are about 3c hair type 4 hair is like zig zag hair.. theres less of a curl pattern there

  • Your hair is pretty no matter what the type!!! I don't mind people asking but other than wanting to know if you should use heavy or light leave ins. Which is common sense really. I really don't know the reasoning behind it all. Hair Porosity, texture, and protien sensitivity is really what you should focus on to know what your hair likes. I look at all curls ranging from 3A to 4C as long as your hair is dry, highly porous, and protien sensitive we're twins regardless of the type.

  • 3c hun... 4 hair doesn't really have a curl pattern (with the exception of 4a). 4b &4c have a zig zag pattern. 3 hair has a curl patterns (like a slinky). Looks like you have mostly 3c hair. You may have a mix of 4a in the center (idk because I can't see it).

  • your hair is so 3c.. 4a curls are tinier coils

  • Hello! How long, have to been growing your natural hair?

  • Thanks for saying that in your description about the curls. i've never been into it either even when I worked at carol's daughter, they would ask, and i would say um idk. anyway, we have similar hair types, so i'll just look at your vids. :)

  • wwhooooooaaaaa please do a tutorial because I have a 4a,b,c hair type and been wanting that kind of hair style. BEAUTIFULL

  • THATS WHAT SHE SAID

  • 4A. A lot of my hair is like this, its a bit looser (3c) in a section at the bottom. As long as you know what works for it, its all good. My hair loves olive oil ecostyle gel, the minute I put the right amount in it it looks awesome.

  • Magic World Online Nirvana

  • LOL! Mines looks straight when wet, especially when drenched. So, yeah, as someone suggested, I am def. a 3. I am just a 3b or c. At a bar this weekend I met a white womyn with "frizzy" or kinky straight hair. She kept asking me what it was. I even complimented her on it.

  • 4a

  • I have really tight curls...about the size of the springs found in ball-point pins. So I must be a 4c or 4 to the nth power. lol I have tried several times (unsuccessfully) to texlax it but in the end I end up with relaxed hair any way. I have done the BC about 4 times in my adult life but this time I'm transitioning without cutting it all off at once. Can you recommend some transition-friendly hair styles for super-curly hair? I just got micros removed. My hair is 10" with about 40% new growth.

  • I think you're right 4a, 4b

  • your hair looks like jerry curl when wet. its cute

  • Comment removed

  • does it really matter?? its hair, type it as that>> just plain ol' hair

  • 1:34 nononono u have not seen shrinkage until u've seen my hair it goes from collar bone to ear THATS! shrinkage

  • hey, u guys but i truly do like this video, and ive seen sum comments saying that a african american girl basicly doesnt have curly hair, well actually we do, and as a matter of fact we have curly, kinky, wavy or wat not, but dont get upset because we african american girls or women found are hair texture and discovered that we actually have our own unique hair texture, and well... me? i love mine, jus note that everybody are not born with one specific hair texture(straight or loose wavy)

  • Ladies I have a feeling that MsJuve is a young girl and is trying to stir up controversy about this video. I've heard of people who come on youtube and say negative comments just so they can start arguments or debates just for fun. Focus on the topic at hand and I wouldn't worry about replying to that particular person. I know I'm not anymore. Just giving a heads up.

  • i thought you were 'spose to do typing on clean dry hair w/ no product in it.

  • 4a

  • @MsJuve305 is lame lol.. and i honestly dont know what to call that.. 3c/4a maybe? *shrug*

  • haha thats what she said joke..

    youre awesome ;)

  • For me it's a 4A! You have beautiful hair

  • I think u have beautiful 3c hair because when wet it's not "coiling looking" to be type 4 hair

  • Please help me with my hair. I made a video check it out. My hair is 3c.

  • girl your hair is not curly.. thats just an afro thats very very wet. really?

  • @MsJuve305 I hope you were joking cause that made no since at all. I feel you were, but if not even wet she still have curls. I mean even if they are more defined when wet they are what they are curls. Hopefully it's not a texturizer and she is just saying that it is her hair. But a lot of curls come out with water, gel, and what ever and then look nappy when dry nappy looking or wet, still curls. SORRY

  • @linkin5961 of course curly hair is more defined wen wet and with gel.. DUH.. wtf are you people smoking? Black girls think just because another girl is natural with curly hair.. that they will have it also.No SORRy. Shes trying a little to hard.. to call that curls its hilarious. When since black people that look like her have curly hair??If that was the case every black girl would leave their hair curly and not put perm.So please.

  • @MsJuve305 I think the term Kinky hair is often misused. I used to watch a lot of natural hair videos on youtube, and I didn't understand why I wasn't seeing any kinky hair, and I seriously thought that 'Kinky hair' was some made up racist term. Until I watched this girl named Sera2544 on here, I'd never seen 'kinky hair' in my LIFE.

  • @MsJuve305 Most black people just have really small ringlet curls, but they're still curls. They might be smaller and less visible (without definition) than the ones that white people typically have, but that doesn't change what they are. And the reason that people started perming their hair in the first place (in the early 1870s) was because they thought that they had to had to have straight hair (or look white) to be attractive and accepted in society.

  • @MsJuve305 By the time that kind of thinking had passed (it still hasn't for some people) black people had been perming their hair for so long that we had no knowledge of how to take care of our natural texture so we kept perming it. And then when the knowledge became available, a lot of people weren't willing to take the time to learn or break away from what they'd always known. So they kept doing it.

  • @MsJuve305 None of this is to say that all black people should go natural. Some people just think straight hair is more managable, some people (I'm not gonna lie) are just NOT attractive enough to pull off natural hair, or curls period. Some people however, become a hundred times more beautiful once they start wearing their natural hair. The point is people do what works for them.

  • @MsJuve305 Sorry I wrote you like an essay here, but the bottom line is that people should at least given a chance to get to know their natural texture, before they perm/relax it. I think it's a bad idea for parents to be like "I don't have time to style my three year old's hair, so I'm just gonna perm it." I think that's lazy and a little selfish. Not to mention the fact that the chemicals they use in perms can trigger alopecia (baldness if you didn't know) in ADULTS, nevermind kids.

  • @MsJuve305 wow your a jerk and an afro is curly hair just really really tight curls your hair can only be curly or straight don't comment if you don't know what your talking about

  • @4TheLoveofLauren Jerk about what? her hair isn't curly! its just an Afro that has shit load of water and a lot of greasy hair products.. give it a few minutes and her hair will start to smell like a wet mop. That's disgusting. How is that curly? She better keep her hair straight because shes giving girls with curly hair a bad rep.Chill>

  • @MsJuve305 no matter if her hair is considered curly or afro or nappy people like it. Why are you so mad that people like her hair? I can tell that you are a kid and have some growing to do. She's a grown woman so at the end of the day she is not going to be affected by your negative comments. Black women go natural for different reasons not cause they want curly hair if that's what you think. and from your vid you are a dark black girl who hates being black.

  • @MsJuve305 if you comment back I'm not reading it, this is my last post. You just need to grow up and grow self esteem about being a black female. no matter if it's nappy or curly or what ever you want to call it, she is comfortable with her hair and being black like most of us. If you think perms are better yea for you, but let her enjoy her hair, cause you look very ghetto and ignorant arguing with people cause you don't like her texture. black women can be natural or have perms its her choice

  • 4a... or 3c

  • 4a...

  • I'm a 4a and your texture looks like mine. The curls are defined when moisturized and if you apply gel or heavy moisturizers/ conditioners/creams, and brush it back, it will proabably produce a row of waves. Thats what mine does. If your hair behaves like this, your a 4a. If your curls were bigger and looser, you'd be a 3c.

  • 3 c

  • Comment removed

  • it looks like your hair is texturized

  • looks like a nice 4a

  • Your hair looks like mine and I classify myself as 3c/4a (mostly 4a). I could be wrong, lol, but that's my take. What products do you use?

  • Thats what she said!!! good job :)

  • you have beautiful hair!!!

i think to type hair though.... it should be washed, clean of ANY/ALL PRODUCT (no conditioner) and air dried (as much as possible)... no manipulation

(conditioner and water produces a curl for curly hair types)

    your hair type = gorgeous!!!!

  • @LMOND07 I didnt say her hair was 4b, nor did I say her was "Z" shaped. You must have not read my comment well. I said " Her hair is NOT a Z shape its an "S" shape so her hair is Type 3 - 3c." Might have some 4a in there, but its Mostly 3c cuz her hair is tightly coiled like corkscrews. She got hair like Rachel True from Half and Half. She's not that much of a 4a cuz 4a has a bit of a afrowy texture when dry. Her hair's just tightly coiled loose spirals with a bounce.

  • I just looked at the hair type part 2 without product. definately 3c/4a. your ends don'r clump together and your ends have larger coils than tight coils. Not dendsly packed or clumped like straight 4a or 4b.

  • I see 3c 4a. I'm 4a and my hair doesnt fall as loosely or swing so freely! Even after conditioning.

  • @LMOND07 Because 4a is like 3c but has a bit of an afrowy/ kinky texture to it. So when stretched out its shaped as an "S". She has 3c hair. And 3c hair is tightly coiled like corkscrews and bounces so it swings when wet and dry. She has Rachel True's kinda hair. 4a hair moves but its also poofs cuz its kinky so it wont really swing like 3c hair. Just know that Type 3's are curly so it swing/bounces. Type 4's are kinky so it poofs.

  • Because water tends to stretch out curls and make them looser hair typing should be done on dry not wet hair and there shouldn't be any product in it. Looking at your hair and imaging how it probably shrinks up when dry I would say you typed yourself correctly. I agree with 4 a/b. Or maybe even just 4a. But I don't see any type 3. The curls even when wet are too small to be in the 3's.

  • I think it does matter because I have ur hair type (ur the first time I seen someone with my hair type) and my sisters curls r Way loser n she tried to show me how she combs her hair but it did not work for me it took longer n it hurts.

  • Beautful hair!

  • Wow looks like perfect healthy 4a all over. especially when you factor in the weight of the length of her hair and the conditioner. Beautiful hair though, you should be a hair model :D

  • No one should be insulted nor angry about what she is saying her hair type is. She said in the video she doesnt know. It sounds like we dividing ourselves on who has what type of hair. If you want to give feedback and suggestion that fine but she did not make the video so you could attack her for wondering what her hair type was. Ladies we all are beautiful with beutiful hair type b or c and if someone called me either one of these I would not be insulted because I LOVE MY HAIR

  • @jequita123 Agree. All of it is good!!! :). I think I am 4 b or c ( not really sure) but I love it!

  • 3C

  • We're hair twins (almost)! I'm a more even mixture of 3c/4a, but you look like you're almost completely 4a, with 3c at the front and the very back.

  • GIRL SAYS IN HER VID...((((SHE DOES NOT REALLY KNO IF SHE IS A 4A OR 4B OR 3C...)))) LAWD. LIKE.... HAIR IS HAIR. SOME PPL COMMENTING MUST BE HATINGGGG LMAOO!! WIT DEH ONE INC HEAD TOPS...LIKE REALLY...DANG

  • 4a all da way! :)

  • Hair type/hair classification: beautiful Conclusion: we all have beautiful hair

  • This is crazy. People are getting upset over what type of hair she has. Wow! There are things more inportant to get upset over than that....too funny.

  • Just to let you know, it's a bit insulting to someone like me who actually has 4b hair to watch a video of someone with 3c hair saying that their hair is 4b. You have no idea what 4b hair is like. The curls are teeny tiny and the hair is thick and coarse. I'm not trying to be rude, believe me, but please hun stop saying 4b cuz you are definately not! You're 3c. Youtube won't allow me to post the link but youtube What's my hair type? by br0nzeqt and you'll see what 4b hair looks like.

  • @gggrinz lol is it really that serious lol take a chill pill

  • Type 3 have hair in a shape of a S which is like curly wavy hair. 3a is wavy, 3b is loose curls 3c are spirals/ coils. Type 4 is hair in a shape of a Z which is hair that is tightly coiled. Her hair is not a Z shape its an S shape so its a Type 3 - 3c

  • @babegurl821 I disagree, I have 4a and its tightly coiled and when streched looks like an S. I've looked closely at my mane and see 0 Z's! that type is 4b that you just described.

  • Comment removed

  • Looks like 4 b with lots of conditioner and water on it.

  • It honestly, really looks like ALL your hair is 4A!!!! (I know that isn't even possible to have ONE TEXTURE ALL OVER but yeah), it's def MOSTLY 4A. . . .

  • You're 3c/4a

  • Comment removed

  • That's definitely a 4a/b. Her hair looks silky because it's wet and it doesn't look like her hair is very thick. Remember her hair is wet so if it is coarse, you wouldn't be able to tell until it's completely dry. Her hair looks like mine does when it's wet.

  • LOL @ That's what she said!

  • lol I have the same hair texture...

  • You're a 3c, and nice hair.

  • i absolutely love your hair!

  • i agree 4 ab

  • I love your hair its soooo pretty!!!!

  • 4a mos def

  • You are definately not a 4

  • Your hair classification is 3c ...4 is more course than your hair...you are in between 3b and 4a but not 4.

  • @Essence1109

    yeah, I think it's more a 3b and 3c as well.

  • @Essence1109 ...coarseness is NOTHING to do with curl PATTERN. You have coarse 3cs and silky 4s. It's the DIAMETER of the curl that matters here when you're typing. She has many small curls, that's 4a. Curl size. She may be a silky 4a. People see some non coarseness and automatically thrown in a 3.

  • Omg, I love your hair sooo much! I can't wait 'till mine grows out!!

  • 4c because its a coily curl.

  • @aml1898 actually she is around 4a/4b because her hair is a coily curl and NOT a Z pattern

  • its so pretty i cant wait to learn how to define my curls

  • Word, glad I found someone on YT that is my hair twin!

  • 4a def.

  • lmfao!!!! hahahha omg u had my rollin , im a perv. haha yea me too dont worry i was thinkin the same thing haha omg

  • Hey girls, it dosn't matter what our hair type is...all that counts is that its healthy and covers our heads lol

  • @MsFunkyDi It doesn't matter in terms of that foolish "good hair/bad hair" thing but there are certain products that respond to certain types better than others etc, so it is a good thing to know in terms of that. :)

  • @songofserenity mmm I appreciate your comment but Im still not convinced, looking at some of the comments on here makes it even more confusing,... I'll stick to good ole 4 a b c z or whatever lol :)

  • @MsFunkyDi Um...4 a b c z as you stated IS hair typing. I'm 3c/ 4a...my hair type responds to products for both 3c and 4a. certain products that a 4b can use often weigh it down, above 3c is usually too light...do you get what I'm saying? a 2a wavy haired girl will not usually benefit from a product for a 4b because it'll usually be too heavy. Many products are universal. That's what I'm saying.

  • so pretty

  • @drdawn86 (cont'd) So... I say all that to say: Where are the "zig-zags" I want to see them! 4B/C TEXTURE SHOT PLEASE..ANYBODY?? I just gotta see the zig-zags everyone's talking about. And truth be told: no one else has really seen them either.... some are just repeating what they've heard/read/etc.

  • @drdawn86 as far as pictures go, the only difference that I c is the 4a/defined curl(s) vs the 4b/cotton fro. But really, how distinguishing is that? The texture of my hair ranges from 3a to 4b, (like no lie, it's weird) My nape is A mixture of 3a/3b, the crown contains a small patch of 4b...leaving the Majority of my hair to be a 3c/4a combo. The thing is: if you if I were to pic an old twist/braid out or blow dry my hair.....I'll have that very same cotton- like fro. =no curls!

  • @drdawn86 im with you.....the whole "zig-zag" theory....a bit absent in my opinion. and then...when you DO visit the hair typing websites...they aren't "SHOWING" much? Vividly descriptive and all but the pictures? I have yet to see "zig-zag" hair.....naturallycurly lists j.scott and e.badu as having 4b hair but when you click on the link...its a damn wig?!?! Or the pictures don't show the actual curl pattern...its more of a "glam" pic than a hair pic? IDK???

  • Hey that's my hair, lol, thanks for helping me define my hair type :)
