Another troubling trend is killing women who are raped. I heard a story of a young Muslim girl who was raped and then later she was killed for the "crime" of being brutally raped. According to the Shariah, it is the woman's fault that she was raped and abused.

yes, but my point is people are clearly not being executed for apostacy because according to this vid the number of converts (specifically christian) is increasing. So Iran is acting under the charter at least in that one respect rather than under divine law which I would have thought a theocracy would elevate above any other laws or treaties (regardless of whether they signed them or not).

In my country, Portugal, the muslims who wanted to stay after the colonists were expelled in 1143 all gave up their religion not long after, as they were allowed to practice islam peacefully, but not to have sharia courts, execute apostates, etc.

Another troubling trend is killing women who are raped. I heard a story of a young Muslim girl who was raped and then later she was killed for the "crime" of being brutally raped. According to the Shariah, it is the woman's fault that she was raped and abused.

Second, rarely happening does not make ANY difference, because it DOES happen, and you REFUSE to answer my question, 1-Is stoning part of the relgion ( NOT COUNTRY) but religion, and what is the requirements before coming to the verdict of stoning. 2- Are you telling me that it is not torturous?

You can know all about ancient and contemporary Hinduism by watching bollywood movies. For eg the movie Rajneeti is based on Mahabharath, an ancient Hindu epic, but has characters from today's Gandhi family and the story is set in a contemporary Hinduism period of today's democratic India.

So presumably the penalty for apostasy is not death in Iran, for there to be an increase in the number of non-muslims? And there is freedom to practice other religions like christianity since in order to count them like in this video you have to be able to find them? This seems very surprising that they don't practice full sharia law in Iran?
But i guess you wouldn't be able to convert to atheism, or have a homosexual relationship, as that would be really crossing the line of Iran leaders?

@intermender For anyone deemed دشمن خدا Enemy of God, or Apostate, the only punishment is execution. That is part of what the revolution is about, an end to theocracy. Iran has signed the human rights charter, the execution of apostates is illegal.

yes, but my point is people are clearly not being executed for apostacy because according to this vid the number of converts (specifically christian) is increasing. So Iran is acting under the charter at least in that one respect rather than under divine law which I would have thought a theocracy would elevate above any other laws or treaties (regardless of whether they signed them or not).
This confuses me: if the leaders do not execute apostates, doesn't that make the leaders apostate too?

People are executed for apostasy in Iran. I recently uploaded a video from an examination of one of the victims who had been tortured for conversion to Zoroastrianism. The most common excuse given for executing undesirables is that they are "Enemies of God". The law against apostasy must end in Iran, a growing number of Iranians are nonbelievers and many are converting away from Islam. Maybe they have always been, but are emboldened by the growing revolution the world ignores.

@ 3333sweetie: There have been houses where Christian converts have been arrested. I have read articles thatsuggest their is about 50,000 converts to Christianity in Iran.
However if their was a million or more converts they could overthrow the Islamic goverment or at least damage them.
