Hey man how did you set up your pole set with your tent? I have a 12'x10' woods prospector and i just bought the pole set but i'm having a heck of a time trying set it up...how many people did you need to set up? Does the ridgepole or outside poles go up first? Can you help me out?
@BigRedEraser you can do it easy with 2 guys. I put together the roof section first then I stretch out the tent across the roof ridge line. Then I put the wall poles up on one side first and get the tent started to roll down. Then the other side goes up and the tent is rolled down on that side. Just don't do what I did this year....got the whole tent up and then realized I had it inside out......DOH
@sharps00....Have you gotten any unwelcome visitors come in under the canvas?Like a chipmunk or a mouse?Or a rat?Or ants?Setting-up camp for a comfy stay takes great forethought and planning. One consideration with wall tents is pest control.A ground sheet under a heavy tarp is good for the floor; but the bottom of the walls need to be fully sealed to keep pests out.
@JBodine67 It appears there is enough material next to the ground to allow for placing logs or rocks to weight it down. Most creatures won't push too hard if they can't tell what is on the other side. Also just some inexpensive tarps placed so they overlap the tent side walls would help and provide a floor.
I like the concept. Straight walls, opening for stove, and lots of space. Nice!!
@HarleylovinChelley We have some tarps we put down on the inside of the tent that overlaps a skirt that is attached to the bottom of the tent........but the thought of a mouse running across my face in the middle of the night has for sure crossed my mind lol

@JBodine67 The only unwanted critters I have had so far are spiders that seem to come to life from the heat of the woodstove
I hate spiders

taping the ends of the poles really helps when setting up if you dont want to use screws.. which usually end up ripping your tent.

@forrestry I am really happy with the tent so far. The amount of space in the tent is great for when its pouring rain outside
