I had banjo lessons for seven years, it took me a fair while to get to the level of skill you show here (I think you did very well for a beginner).

Jesus check your intonation on your bridge, it sounds way sharp so move the bridge back until the open string sound the same as the 12 fret (15 if its the high G string)

It should be 17 if its the high G string, not 15. Also you should really only do it with the high D string, and the low G string, When you've done that it should be set right.

I've played the banjo for about a year or so (also self-taught), wouldn't say it's hard to slide a couple of strings a few frets. This version of Dueling Banjos is more like the rythm than the real melody. Practice more and put some licks in it, that's when things get funny!

Hey, thanks, I don't think I'm that good! I used a beginners book thing, just to learn the chords and the picking methods. Then, I am very good at figuring out things by listing to them. I taught myself guitar and drums that way as well. I figured this song out just by listening to it.

Opps posted too soon. I'm sure you can teach yourself! Get a little beginner book. Just take your time and get the picking methods and the chords down. You'll start out slow at first, then you can go faster and faster because you'll memorize it. Good Luck!!
