The church does not separate people, people with their own poor choices separate people, and bring unhappiness to their lives. Look in the scriptures. Wickedness was never happiness. That is why with agency comes responsibility to make good choices and keep the commandments. Any man can prepare to go to The House of the Lord and partake of the many blessings if he is willing to make and keep sacred covenants and obey the laws of God.

@axionjaxionj ..Many do hate themselves and who and what they are. Therefore they allow themselves to be relegated to a subservient role in order to appease the chosen master and I assure that /those master(s) is/are no god(s). One thing I have found amongst Mormons tho' is that there are those like yourself who wish to believe well of themselves. I doubt your sincerity because you are Mormon. I have been there and your ppl have taught me a lot, and Hate is their greatest gift.
@axionjaxionj I reside in Utah the hub of mormonism and my family and I have endured much at their hands. One thing I do note is how many hypocrites make disclaimers against racism and in the same action practice the behavior not out of ignorance, but because they stupidly believe no one will notice. 'Living' amongst these, shatters the false image they attempt to build up and present to an unsuspecting world.
I love the gospel of Jesus Christ (of Latter-Day Saints aka Mormons) it has brought me so much joy, happiness and peace Ia m grateful to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. :)
"Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being." - Goethe
I am constantly in AWE of the fact at how well the Modern Day Mormon Church can dissociate itself from Polygamy when it's history it literally drenched in it. Not only that, but it's future is covered in it as well. For example, Joseph Smith proclaimed polygamy to be a a "true and E V E R L A S T I N G covenant" . EVERLASTING. take a minute to process that word.. not only that, but the Mormon Church endorses polygamy in heaven. Section 132 D&C.
@amyleoness Yes we do endorse polygamy in heaven, that is HOW it is everlasting. There are plenty of other "everlasting" covenants in the bible as well. Also, you should research the history of the Old Testament. Moses had multiple wives, so did Jacob. we can always speculate why, but the fact is it is a matter of history. The church can disassociate itself due to ongoing prophetic revelation. If you are a christian, YOUR history is drenched in poligamy too. =D
@amyleoness I was writing it simply to simply clarify doctrine. Clearly if you don't have faith in the Bible, doctrine is of very litle concern to you but I just figured you should have the whole doctrinal explaination before defining Everlasting covenants. If you disregard the bible.. whatevs. Go with the flow. Whatever floats your boat. =D
This is beautiful. I LOVE the church. And guess what, I'm black also. The history of the church is so misunderstood by so many. The church and its people are beautiful and I'm so happy to be a member.
THE BOOK OF MORMON CONTRADICTS THE BIBLE!! God is perfect He does not contradict Himself, the Mormon book is a lie, Mormons WAKE UP and read the bible.
Huh black mormons? Ooh my God..do they know that the fundamentals of this religion are blatantly racist...ooh my God, I feel so sorry for them..they look so happy and beautiful..but they are praying on scriptures that see them as subhumans
@JesusSavedme78 Blacks in the Mormon church are Blacks who accept their status as slaves to the 'white' leaders of the church. Slavery to them here on earth and in heaven.
@canelam256 There is sufficient information on the origin of the Mormon church and their perception of blacks. Most mormons today might be opposed to racism, it would only be fair to publicly acknowledge and strongly denounce the original viewpoints of the founding father and subsequent leaders of the church. I find this denial in itself and "whitewashing" of the image of the mormon church a prolonging of the original viewpoints. Racism is disgusting and Christians should be the first to say so.
@mereje There is nothing racist in the scriptures. Try reading them instead of trying to make a verse or two taken out of context SEEM racist. And then try looking for truth and the Spirit of God rather than looking for fault. If you're looking that hard for fault, you can find it anywhere, whether or not it exists.
@adampoole6 If there is nothing faulty, surely, I or others, would not be able to find any..don't u think so? No none of the scripture say kill blacks...but it is well documented that the teachings are racists, that Smith was a racist and that blacks were not allowed to be part of the church as subhumans and this was only lifted in 1978. Why cant the church just apologise for it and move on. Denying and whitewashing it is actually worse.
I love the burgeoning ward in Harlem where I believe this video takes place. I always get the best welcome there! This is a sweet love story. Thank you.
What a beautiful wedding. Thank you very much for sharing this with us. You are a very beautiful couple. I wish you all of the happiness in the world, may the Lord bless you always.
haha its not a sham lol I Was a missionary in AFRICA! hint hint, questions anyone?
Did the Mormon church used to be racist towards blacks? absolutely yes. Is the church racist still today? the answer is NO. the church is world wide.
Conveniently changed to fit their current members? yes it was.
I dont know what the real deal was with the church back in the day, they were fearful I guess and afraid of change. but we can see how far the world has come.
@3p0Drew just b/c they nclude blacks 2day, doesn't mean their not racist still. We r about 2 enter 2011...can u imagine a church sayin openly "no blacks allowed?" The world would condem it & their religon would fall short or away. Im not personally attacking the Mormon church. I know racism appear n other organizations as well, but wht they all have n common is the deception 2 hide it 4 the profit of wealth. They target minority populations (Africa) 2 expand the size of their religion.
@ama00010 Back in 1985, when I was still new to Utah and mormonism, I read a headline from the Salt Lake Tribrune "Let's Make Them Think We're Friendly". Get the point?
If some spirits continue to be cursed with black skin because of their unrighteous behavior in the pre-mortal world, then why does that same unrigheous behavior now no longer disqualify them from the priesthood?
Mormon Doctrine is RACIST, this video is a sham put up job by the LDS cult to appear like they are not a white power group (which they are). They can't be alone together? LDS church treats adults like children.
No, that is incorrect. No one on this earth is from Satan, we all made a choice to come to this Earth and to have Free Agency. Satan can not have a body nor any of the spirits that choose to follow Satan in the pre-mortal life. In the BOM there was a division of people the Nephites & Lamenites....God did make the Lamenites skin a different color ( Dark, Indian...etc ) so the people KNEW who was from what tribe ( one was good at times & one wasn't). So much info, not enough room.
@BlueDevilette29 To say that no one on this earth is of Satan, is to call Jesus a liar. He was very clear when acknowledging 2 types of people. So don't try to deceive us with rhetoric. Nephite from Nephilim-Feller-those who cause others to fall; Lamenite is just some made up term to justify the acceptance of that which they don't like because they bare some basic similar physical traits that make them appealing. It come in handy when trying to control the in-breeding.

@zellballen If you are seriously of the LDS faith, then you by all means are a bad representation of what YOU ARE TAUGHT!!! We are tolerance of others and other religions, we may not agree with but we are taught to not be IGNORANT and you certainly just showed your ignorance. Everyone on this earth is a CHILD OF GOD!!!
@irenewabissa I live in the United States. Our first amenment says I can say, feel, and think what I want! If youtube or the author of the video wants, they can censor me but I can say, feel, and think what I want, when I want.
why don't we talk about something more important. Lets say I am brown, you're white and the other is black and we are all children of our Heavenly father FULL STOP.
Although, I do not care much for a negro, still I have a warm spot in my heart for those beautiful singers. (David O. McKay)
Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man mixes who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so. (Brigham Young)
"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind" (Journal of Discourses)
Then, Spencer Kimball taught that Native Americans were getting lighter and lighter and "Truly the scales of darkness are falling from their eyes, and they are fast becoming a white and delightsome people" (mprovement Era, Dec 1960. p 922-23)
Blacks were denied the priesthood until 1978 b/c the founders were racist and bigots. The "revelation" came b/c of pressure from outside. Anything else is whitewashed bs that only covers up the truth of what happened in LDS history.
And if you like Islam so much with it's condemnation of Jews, Christians, and with its constant debasing of all things Christian (you obviously haven't read the Quran), then why not renounce Mormonism and become Islamic? It's a beautiful religion you say.
Christianity didn't do bad things to us. Usurpers, heretics, people professing to be Christian, but forsaking Christ's COMMANDS did bad things to us. Hate is sin.
Smith was simply continuing a non-Christian tradition of intolerance and hate.
You can bring families together in a way that doesn't teach people to debase themselves.
In regards to Mormonism. The notion of wanting to be in a family together is a good idea. Islam does it too.
But what you need to do is know the difference between what it is, what it teaches, and what it does.
Mormonism has been teaching lies about black peoples history and still does to this day in such a way as to debase you, to maintain that notion that somehow, someway blacks were still "less".
@osirica Yes, Islam does do this. So what is the problem with Mormons. whiet Mormons in particular? I encourage you to read what Islamic leaders have said about Black people....its not too nice. Islam was exactly given to us Black Africans on a silver platter. They too, forced our ancestors into believing their ways. So if you are trying to fown Mormonism(Christianity) in hope to prop up Islam, then you are mistaken. Both did bad things to us. Islam is a beautiful religion.
Mormons still have, as of 2010 passages in their scriptures that say that black people were cursed with dark skin, or that they were marked with dark skin as a sign of God's displeasure, or that their dark skin is a symbol of their unfaithfulness.
They still teach that Cain, Canaan, and others in history were made dark skinned as punishment for a sin and, in order for the "good" people to know who the "bad" people are and not have children with them. (Skin color discrimination).
@osirica your like talking to a wall. Believe what you will. I love this gospel and I hope you are content with yours because I am with mine and thats all I have to say about that....peace.
A lot of black people like to be led by whites. It's like submission to their will. IN some form, that's subconsciously what's going on.
It's not me believing what I will... it's you. I stated the facts about Mormon doctrine. You have to contend with it one way or another. You can pretend it's not there, or justify it, or even agree with it. But you can't erase it.
What difference does it make. Islam or Mormonism. Both of your groups swear that your prophet was the last greatest prophet that came to restore the "True" bible that was lost due to the great Apostacy.
Again, this is an example. Blacks don't get pushed to be fully integrated. There is still a "less than" thing with the white Mormon caretakers. IF you go to any Church, the whites are in charge, they lead the way, they are the speakers, they watch over what goes on with black people. The little teenager "elders" have as much pull as a black man with 30 years tenure there.
That isn't true. There are many black bishops througout the world and even in the U.S. There are black area seventys and black stake presidents. Atlanta has several black bishops and a black stake president. Utah also has several black bishops.
THEY ARE SUBORDINATE TO THEIR WHITE COUNTERPARTS AND HIGHER UPS!
DO you not understand the history of Joseph Smith? Do you not see that his pictures are designed to look like Methodist preacher Wesley? Methodism had just went through a schism because blacks left it due to racism, by the time Smith came around the scene.
It doesn't matter. I have watched a black stake president close his mouth while the white elder sent from far and yonder took over a conversation I was having without asking.
@JohnRhysMusician it can be done. it's definitely not as common as a temple wedding, but it can be done. maybe the couple wasn't ready to go to the temple yet.. like maybe one was newly baptized or was not a member or something like that. my dad was a convert to the church, and when he and my mom got married, they had a traditional ceremony at their home (my mom was already a member) and then a year later they went to the temple so they could be sealed.
I know plenty of couples that have been married in civil ceremonies and then sealed, like my parents. My dad wasn't a member for many years. However, I have never heard of someone getting married in a meetinghouse, but I am glad we could accomodate them and may they have the opportunity to be sealed in the temple.
Only an idiot, would believe Jesus was white. Jesus was Hebrew, The ancient Egyptians were dark skinned blacks, when the Pharaoh's daughter had Moses plucked from the Nile and kept Moses as her own. Now, this proves the Egyptians and Hebrews did have the same skin tone. BLACK, IF THE HEBREWS WERE WHITE EVERYONE WOULD HAVE KNOWN MOSES WAS A HEBREW NOT AN EQUYPTIAN
@JomoDaMusicMan the Egyptians you are speaking of were certainly not dark skinned black, in fact they enslaved the nearby black populations during different dynastic periods. All you need to look at is the way they depicted themselves in art. It doesn't matter what they looked like, or what Jesus looked like, but that's a bizarre historical fallacy to be spreading.
who said Jesus was white? You assume that since they belong to a Caucasian-derived church they believe this. Condemnation without investigation...classy.
Do I have issues with a church that teaches that black people skin color is a curse? Yes.
Do I have issue with a church that teaches that black people were once forbidden to be priests? Yes (especially when history shows that was never the case).
I have issue with a church that routinely upholds a softened white supremacist, black inferiority doctrine? Yes.
But you know what? Ok. People join gangs to feel like they belong to a family, I take it you didn't look at other religious options.
@osirica I must say that you are wrong. I can tell that you have dabbled in church history only to pick and pull things that agree with your position. Remember, even prophets make mistakes, they are not perfect and that (priesthood ban, Blacks being cursed) was something they were wrong on. I suppose since you are into scripture and spirituality, then perhaps you can understand the concept of "forgiveness"
In every "prophetic" comment about Black people from Joseph Smith onwards... EVERY ONE (not 50%, not 75%, but over 95% of the time) ARE WRONG.
And since they are wrong on that, and that went on for 95% of Mormon church history, why on EARTH, as a black man would you insist that Mormonism is the RIGHT relgion?
Forgiveness is one thing.
I am talking about discernment and truth. How can I forgive when you refuse to confess?
YOu say they were wrong. But even today your Mormon leaders don't!
It is true, the white christian church, even to this day does not accept blacks. This is why Blacks started their own churches. Me being Black would never accept a white minister officiating over any special fir me or my family
excuse me, but mormons are allowed to have more than one wife. Is this why this brother wants into their organization. It's hard enought taking care of one wife, wow, how about support two, three, or four. Brother u better be a millionaire
I think blacks should do more research about the mormon church. If they do, they wouldn't even think about joining them or letting their ministers marry them. It's almost as bad as a black joining the KKK, but their are a few black idiots that would join the kkk, if allowed
Your wedding was beautiful, we love you guys although we do not know you! God bless you and we wish you the greatest eternal success in your marriage, which truly is ordained of God our Father, so glad you joined the church brother!
until 78.. blacks wasnt allowed the same priesthood as whites.. reason why u ask?? when u meet god in the next life.. ask him.. u might find out he is black too.. who knows who cares.. just live your life and be happy.. becuase it goes by fast

One thing I have found amongst Mormons tho' is that there are those like yourself who wish to believe well of themselves. I doubt your sincerity because you are Mormon. I have been there and your ppl have taught me a lot, and Hate is their greatest gift.

axionjaxionj 10 months ago
@axionjaxionj I reside in Utah the hub of mormonism and my family and I have endured much at their hands. One thing I do note is how many hypocrites make disclaimers against racism and in the same action practice the behavior not out of ignorance, but because they stupidly believe no one will notice. 'Living' amongst these, shatters the false image they attempt to build up and present to an unsuspecting world.

Section 132 D&C.
amyleoness 11 months ago 2
@amyleoness Yeah, just imagine, God, a giggalo. :)
freedomwarfighter 9 months ago

canelam256 1 year ago
@canelam256 There is sufficient information on the origin of the Mormon church and their perception of blacks. Most mormons today might be opposed to racism, it would only be fair to publicly acknowledge and strongly denounce the original viewpoints of the founding father and subsequent leaders of the church. I find this denial in itself and "whitewashing" of the image of the mormon church a prolonging of the original viewpoints. Racism is disgusting and Christians should be the first to say so.
mereje 1 year ago 2
@mereje There is nothing racist in the scriptures. Try reading them instead of trying to make a verse or two taken out of context SEEM racist. And then try looking for truth and the Spirit of God rather than looking for fault. If you're looking that hard for fault, you can find it anywhere, whether or not it exists.
adampoole6 6 months ago
@adampoole6 If there is nothing faulty, surely, I or others, would not be able to find any..don't u think so? No none of the scripture say kill blacks...but it is well documented that the teachings are racists, that Smith was a racist and that blacks were not allowed to be part of the church as subhumans and this was only lifted in 1978. Why cant the church just apologise for it and move on. Denying and whitewashing it is actually worse.

I know racism appear n other organizations as well, but wht they all have n common is the deception 2 hide it 4 the profit of wealth.

I was curious of what a mormon wedding looks like..
I know it is WAAY to soon to even think about..
But I meet up with a mormon girl, I am a atheist..
Decided to do some research on what people think of a mormon and a atheist dating..
It sounds like the MAIN concern is that a atheist would have to have a mormon wedding in order to satisfy the mormon..
My response, WHO THE HELL CARES, if you love the person, and their religious ceremony is that important to them.. ALLOW IT.
thefakeyeti 2 years ago
Seriously, if I fell in love with a mormon, and it was important to them..
I would get baptized, and get married as a "mormon" but make them know I am a atheist..
And most of the covients they have are easy to follow..
I (on my own) decided to stop drinking caffiene and alcohol.. EASY PEASY.
I don't get how atheists can refuse the one they love their important ceremonies.

Finally, remember this
The KKK, NAZIs, and White supremacy are the ONLY organizations around today that share the same interpretation of biblical history as Mormonism.
Curse of Cain, black skin, black race, slavery, God's punishment, sinful pre-existence, white skin is God's image, etc.
All Mormon doctrine, all taught in KKK circles.
You do the math.

Smith was simply continuing a non-Christian tradition of intolerance and hate.
osirica 2 years ago
You can bring families together in a way that doesn't teach people to debase themselves.
In regards to Mormonism. The notion of wanting to be in a family together is a good idea. Islam does it too.
But what you need to do is know the difference between what it is, what it teaches, and what it does.
Mormonism has been teaching lies about black peoples history and still does to this day in such a way as to debase you, to maintain that notion that somehow, someway blacks were still "less".
osirica 2 years ago
@osirica Yes, Islam does do this. So what is the problem with Mormons. whiet Mormons in particular? I encourage you to read what Islamic leaders have said about Black people....its not too nice. Islam was exactly given to us Black Africans on a silver platter. They too, forced our ancestors into believing their ways. So if you are trying to fown Mormonism(Christianity) in hope to prop up Islam, then you are mistaken. Both did bad things to us. Islam is a beautiful religion.
BLKMRM 2 years ago 2
Mormons still have, as of 2010 passages in their scriptures that say that black people were cursed with dark skin, or that they were marked with dark skin as a sign of God's displeasure, or that their dark skin is a symbol of their unfaithfulness.
They still teach that Cain, Canaan, and others in history were made dark skinned as punishment for a sin and, in order for the "good" people to know who the "bad" people are and not have children with them. (Skin color discrimination).

A lot of black people like to be led by whites. It's like submission to their will. IN some form, that's subconsciously what's going on.

They didn't have a temple wedding???? I am so confused how can you be married in a meetinghouse?
JohnRhysMusician 2 years ago
Again, this is an example. Blacks don't get pushed to be fully integrated. There is still a "less than" thing with the white Mormon caretakers. IF you go to any Church, the whites are in charge, they lead the way, they are the speakers, they watch over what goes on with black people. The little teenager "elders" have as much pull as a black man with 30 years tenure there.
osirica 2 years ago
That isn't true. There are many black bishops througout the world and even in the U.S. There are black area seventys and black stake presidents. Atlanta has several black bishops and a black stake president. Utah also has several black bishops.
JohnRhysMusician 2 years ago
THEY ARE SUBORDINATE TO THEIR WHITE COUNTERPARTS AND HIGHER UPS!
DO you not understand the history of Joseph Smith? Do you not see that his pictures are designed to look like Methodist preacher Wesley? Methodism had just went through a schism because blacks left it due to racism, by the time Smith came around the scene.
It doesn't matter. I have watched a black stake president close his mouth while the white elder sent from far and yonder took over a conversation I was having without asking.
osirica 2 years ago
@JohnRhysMusician it can be done. it's definitely not as common as a temple wedding, but it can be done. maybe the couple wasn't ready to go to the temple yet.. like maybe one was newly baptized or was not a member or something like that. my dad was a convert to the church, and when he and my mom got married, they had a traditional ceremony at their home (my mom was already a member) and then a year later they went to the temple so they could be sealed.
herestheskinny 2 years ago
I know plenty of couples that have been married in civil ceremonies and then sealed, like my parents. My dad wasn't a member for many years.
JomoDaMusicMan 2 years ago
@JomoDaMusicMan Equyptian? Whats that?
joshuavargas18 2 years ago
@JomoDaMusicMan the Egyptians you are speaking of were certainly not dark skinned black, in fact they enslaved the nearby black populations during different dynastic periods. All you need to look at is the way they depicted themselves in art. It doesn't matter what they looked like, or what Jesus looked like, but that's a bizarre historical fallacy to be spreading.
MinaDesade 2 years ago
The Egyptians were dark skinned enough to be black. The woman in this video would be Egyptian, even if her husband was considered to be Nubian.
It doesn't matter what they look like, so there is no need to diminish the truth by saying they weren't "dark skinned"> because thats relative.
They certainly were not white. And the average middle ground black person was probably the same complexion as the Egyptians.
osirica 2 years ago 2
who said Jesus was white? You assume that since they belong to a Caucasian-derived church they believe this. Condemnation without investigation...classy.
BLKMRM 2 years ago
The Caucasian derived church in question teaches this as divine doctrine truth.
And this is after I did a careful investigation. I read the Mormon scriptures.
Now what?
osirica 2 years ago
@osirica I don't know..Do you have issues with it?
BLKMRM 2 years ago
Do I have issues with a church that teaches that black people skin color is a curse? Yes.
Do I have issue with a church that teaches that black people were once forbidden to be priests? Yes (especially when history shows that was never the case).
I have issue with a church that routinely upholds a softened white supremacist, black inferiority doctrine? Yes.
But you know what? Ok. People join gangs to feel like they belong to a family, I take it you didn't look at other religious options.
osirica 2 years ago
@osirica I must say that you are wrong. I can tell that you have dabbled in church history only to pick and pull things that agree with your position. Remember, even prophets make mistakes, they are not perfect and that (priesthood ban, Blacks being cursed) was something they were wrong on. I suppose since you are into scripture and spirituality, then perhaps you can understand the concept of "forgiveness"
BLKMRM 2 years ago
In every "prophetic" comment about Black people from Joseph Smith onwards... EVERY ONE (not 50%, not 75%, but over 95% of the time) ARE WRONG.
And since they are wrong on that, and that went on for 95% of Mormon church history, why on EARTH, as a black man would you insist that Mormonism is the RIGHT relgion?
Forgiveness is one thing.
I am talking about discernment and truth. How can I forgive when you refuse to confess?
YOu say they were wrong. But even today your Mormon leaders don't!
