Metallica were selling out arenas way before Black album, they were on Iron Maiden level with AJFA, a level Slayer ( and they are my favourite band) and Megadeth never reached and MTV gave them playing time only because of Metallica's popularity with One and later Black Album. No Megadeth is as popular as Master of Puppets, Creeping Death, One, Battery, Fade to Blacketc. Megadeth's popularity has more to do with Dave being in Metallica than the band itself ( even though they have great music, Dave's vocals are shit). Even Slayer are more popular than Megadeth, because Slayer have metal anthems such as Angel of Death and Raining Blood and they were also the second on the bill for the Big 4 gigs
