  • Wow they even played songs from St. Anger, along with Load stuff...

  • 5:17 - haha "dirty window baby" :D Imagine Hetfield talking like this to his wife ;-)))))))

  • Is it me or Kirk just have lost his creativity... you call that a solo?!

  • What show is this? The set & guestlist is amazing!

  • Fuck'n youtube keeps freezing!!! WTF!!

  • really good live.

    But the solo...

    srsly?

  • i lke the guys in the crowd, "no lulu!" XD

  • YEEEEAAAAH!! BEST SONG OFF ST. ANGER!!!

  • 2:12 Epic Fail

  • I like how James is using a guitar that he has not used since the late 90s and early 00s. Probably because the song is in Drop C, and most tallica songs aren't in drop c.

  • this could be an awesome kill 'em song, if it was played in "A" like the other kill ' em songs! :D

  • @MrDrummetalfreak actually all of the Kill em all songs were played in E except for Seek & Destroy which was played in A

  • @awsomejustin8 Hit The Lights is in A too

  • @homesliceman1 Yep, Sad But True, was tuned half a step down, so was The Memory Remains, All Nightmare Long is in Drop D. But whatever, I play in standard tuning because I don't have a chromatic tuner.

  • @awsomejustin8 Sad but True is in a different tuning to The Memory Remains- You're right about 'Memory'- it's in Eflat tuning, which is a half step down, but Sad but True is in D standard tuning, which is the same as E standard, but a whole step down :)

  • @newagedemolition1 My bad, Sad But True is tuned a whole step down, while memory remains is a half a step down. Sorry, I don't play songs in a different tuning.

  • I'd like to hear a good produced version of the St. Anger album. I't should be at least better than Load. ;)

  • dude, Bob is looking good :D

  • sounds better then the album i think.. probably cuz the drums sound half normal lol. that was the only thing i didnt like about st anger.. lars' annoying snare sound

  • A person's mind is like a parachute, it doesn't work if it's not open. -Frank Zappa.

  • James should use Explorer or Les Paul, and Kirk the ESP Ouija!

  • @canoffspring1 Their instruments are tuned one step down in D, so its hard to change the guitar settings. Those guitars you mention are mostly for standard and half step down tunings.

  • @speedtomas aaaaa ok! I meant by appearance, not by sound but thanks for the info! :D

  • Jesus, James looks like such a fuckin' fag. Let us fucking pray that James' new sudden queerishness isn't a sign of things to come on the next fucking album. I swear to fucking God, this older this guy gets, the more white trash/queer he becomes. Fuck.

  • they played it wrong

  • This is art to me

  • Top 4 from st. Anger

    4. Frantic

    3. Sweet Amber

    2. My World

    1. The Unamed Feeling

and St. Anger/Some Kind Of Monster/Purify are good also

  • some things should be immortal...metallica is one of them

  • My favorite song from St.Anger \m/

  • i like how he got his solo in on the live

  • jeff bridges in the bass

  • Bob Rock? Where? I only see this woman whit the bass and..... oh.

  • This song is a masterpiece if you compare with 'I am the table'

  • This Concert songs better than album.

  • he looks like a girl

  • I was there all four nights and this sounded 10 times better in person than this video. However, my favorite parts were the songs with Jason Newsted every night, but the highlight all week was Dave Mustaine joining them on stage for Metal Militia, Jump, and Phantom on the last night.

  • oohhhh shit im starting to like metallica

  • the bitch who killed metallica on bass

  • Metallica with Andy Timmons on bass.

  • Bob Rock is using Jasons bass. After all the shit Bob talked on him during some kind of monster thats pretty magnanimous for Jason to let him hold his instrument. Looks funny up at his chest however!

  • @awilliamk

That was 10 years ago. Get over it. They did.

  • I think the whole St Anger album is pretty bad ass.

  • martha stewart playing bass with metallica...

  • Rejector, protector, projector... what crappy lyrics... What where they thinking about when they wrote this shit?

  • @Area69ca ok

  • @Area69ca They sat in a room and wrote down everything they came up with,

  • @Area69ca That's the fucking problem: they WEREN'T thinking! I remember the first time I heard this shit. I had just bought a new copy of St. Anger from Best Buy, I ripped it open (and almost broke the case, I was so excited), literally ran to my car all the across the parking lot, popped the CD in . . . and I just sat there in stunned silence. I remember skipping to the next track before the first song even finished, fucking HOPING that maybe it was just the one song that sucked ass. Nope.

  • what is bob wearing :0

  • audio zuado maaan ..........

  • James looks odd playing a Gibson SG at least I think thats what it is.

  • @144church It is his LTD Grynch baritone. Not an SG

  • @mytchook Thx man

  • Holy shit, they almost lost ist about 5 times... still rocked it!

  • St. Anger is a very good album, why people dont give Metallica the chance to do different things?

They have the right to have fun isnt it?

It is called EVOLUTION, do you imagine The Beatles playing Rock n Roll all the time like in their beginnings! Obviously no!!! What would happend to Sargent Peppers and White album?

    EVOLUTION!!!!

  • @15217847 great riffs on st anger but im iffy about some of the song titles lol....its just so weird that metallica have a song titled 'dirty window'....its just odd to me...its like having a song titled 'socks and tires' lol....but i love metallica...i plan on getting a metallica tattoo.

  • @15217847 EXACTLY. But metal fans are very very VERY close minded. They restrict themselves to what music they can listen to, what clothes they can wear, what hairstyles they can have, what movies they can watch, which ppl they can hang out with, which pubs they can go to and on and on. Yeah it's an immature, insular, retarded way to live, but whatever, that's their problem, and they can have it and suffer with it.

  • @fatfacerick wow. u couldnt have been more wrong about someone like me. i am a metalhead and i dont restrict myself to certain clothes, hairstyles, and whatever else u said. its not that we're closeminded, its the fact that all the mainstream music in the world blows. theres no talent involved and its all the same and we listen to music (real music) that appeals to us. go listen to some autotuned bullshit. nice stereotype dickhead.

  • @blackshadow811 Well, judging from your post you're fitting his description darm well Metal heads are generally very close minded, sticking to their repetive bands like Exodus, Slayer, Testament etc. I am a metal head myself, but damn I hate being with those types who try to look big, ''scary'', evil and powerful, I much prefer something like Metallica's style, you know, to have fun. I'm also apparently one of the only metal heads who respects that people have different taste.

  • @MasterofKnees i respect the fact that people chose their own music to listen to but the problem with that, its becoming less and less of a choice. kids growing up now hear nothin but the shit on the radio so they're being basically brainwashed into listening to it. and how would i be closeminded, while being a metal head, i also have songs from elton john, celine dion, NWA. i listen to a variety of music but it mainly consists of metal. i listen to songs i like not based on genre

  • @blackshadow811 Although I do agree, I don't like the mainstream music, I absolutely hate when people are faking their voice with all kinds of effects to hide their true voice. But yeah, I do respect that other people may like it, and therefore I ain't bitching about it.

  • @15217847 St Anger is NOT a good album. St Anger was not EVOLUTION but REGRESSION. Evolution means to do better, to evoluate for the best, not for the worse!!! How can u say that St Anger is evolution compared to albums like: ...And Justice for All or Master of Puppets??? Wake up dude, quit smoking crack!!!

  • @Area69ca What I'm traying to say is that St Anger was evolution compared to LOAD & RE LOAD, of course no one including Metallica can do better albums like MASTER, Ride and Justice, Most of the great bands like Metallica, Kiss, Priest, Maiden etc, have changed a little bit their "Metal Roots" just to try different things, some people like that, to hear new things of their old bands, not always the same...

  • @15217847 st.anger might be an evolution compared to reload, but never to LOAD.. thats a brilliant hard rock/blues rock album. its not metal, wasn't intended to be metal, so therefore can't be judged by metal standards. if it was released in '75, metallica would be credited together with led zeppelin and deep purple now.

  • @Area69ca Are you going to tell me that RE LOAD is a good album????

For me and for many peole St Anger was much heavier than Load and Reload, and that was a great step to their next album Death Magnetic!

Crack!!! jajaja xD I prefer a good beer!!!!

    CHEERS!!!!

  • @15217847 I never said that Load and Reload where good albums; I even think both suck ass... But if I had to choose between Load/Reload or St.Anger, I would choose Load/Reload anytime; St.Anger is just unlistenable... However, I must give you credit for being able to stand the awful thrash can snare sound...

  • @15217847 More like Devolution.

  • @15217847 must say that St. Anger was one of the two best album by Metallica after justice. in my opinion

  • @Tyskmetal lightning and puppets then maybe anger....after justice man the drumming on justice just epic...:)

  • With Robert Trujillo on bass, why the fuck would you need Bob Rock there?

  • @wardog1967 Well, seeing as Bob Rock played the bass tracks for St. Anger, it's pretty appropriate for him to be there.

  • @MCStanden I know he did, but gee...that's why he's a producer...and a darn good one too...and why Robert Trujillo is a crazy-good bassist....dunno...just doesn't look right.

  • awesome vids man

  • Lars didn't open his snare.. :(, oh well, still sounded Amazing.

  • no im half serious actually

  • one of my favourite albums

  • carrying on from last post death magnetic had good production its sound quality it amazing... and as for st anger could you produce an album for the best band ever and play and right the bass and go thriugh thropy

  • st anger isnt bad its very agresive and way more thrash the load and reload its fast and heavy but would have been better with solos i perfer james not destorting his voice on on death magnetic and st anger cause now he soulds the same live and on the album... and longlivethrash they have had st anger songs in shows to prove it frantic is on the 6 feet downunde live eps and look at metallica live and look at the set lists...

  • @theClownface64 Its "THRASH" HA! St.Anger is a pile of sloppy tuned down junk riffs and no solo's. Im amazed peopel defend that piece of shit album.

  • these songs were meant to be played live. Whether or not you like the album on the cd, if you don't headbang at least a little to these songs live then, man, i feel sorry for you.

  • Yeah - I think Jason said it best when he heard they were playing with Fag Rock.....Need more be said....

  • lmfao "No lulu, no lulu, no lulu"

  • Lol "no lulu"

  • I wonder what's going on under Bob's hair..

  • is dat a solo from kirk??

  • my band plays this song better

  • Bit of a mess but still fun.

  • why is bon jovi on bass?

  • wow, so everyone likes this album now? its about time.. i think death magnetic made this one better cause people didnt have st. anger to linger on

  • Why does Bob Rock have manboobs?

  • @Pwnzjoomom maybe she, er I mean he, has just given birth

  • Lars has totally forgotten this song on the drums :<

  • You'd almost think that was Bob Rock's wife or something, not Bob Rock proper.

  • Solo!

  • They played wrong the intro

  • metallica ruined themselves without bob rock sorry. they still are ruining themselves they don't have to play this crap. bob rock best bassist EVER

  • @nigletgook Bob Rock made this album, made this song's, he have to play it...

  • this is the guy who ruined metallica transforming them into crap reload, but reload itself is better than lulu LOL-O

  • @carlosjate Bob rock didn't ruin metallica! If anyone supposedly ruined metallica blame hetfield - ulrich. They had the demos for load/reload written before bob rock even heard them. Hetfield-ulrich told him what kind of album they wanted.

  • @carlosjate Bob rock didn't ruin metallica! If anyone supposedly ruined metallica blame hetfield / ulrich. They had the demos for load/reload written before bob rock even heard them.

  • @TheShepster80 FUCK U MAN LOAD AND RELOAD ARE GREAT ALBUMS

  • @TheDustyhaines THEY FUCKING SUCK

  • @TheDustyhaines Thats why i put SUPPOSEDLY! not my view necessarily. So if your're gonna write that "write it" to the person i replied to! And not all the songs are that great on load/reload. A few but not all.

  • It's a shame that Metallica feels that it has to be a special occasion such as this to play St. Anger songs live..I'm not going to lie, I liked some stuff off of St. Anger..Sweet Amber was probably my favorite song, it's got a powerful riff to it.

  • @PeaceSells1986 Sweet amber and shoot me again are my fav tracks \m/

  • All of Metallicas material sounds great live.

  • @Minmataro718 I agree

  • @MKDumas1981 Okay,thanks. i wasnt quite sure

  • it sounds good becuz we dont hav to listen to the shitty production

  • 2 bassists????WTF!!!!

  • @ayakosha Here you see Metallica with 2 bassists and 4 guitarists. :) /watch?v=lQwHPI75jaY&feature=related

  • LOL Anyone hear at the start some guy saying "No Lulu man, no Lulu."

  • @HeyTray1 its stupid cause why would they play lulu with bob rock lol you know its gonna be between the albums of black and st.anger

  • @AlbanianGuy And James brought out a guitar with green flames, so he should know it's going to be something from St.Anger.

  • @cubby3o5 yea exactly lol the only excuses he had is that he was drunk or he was just stupid haha

  • What does an idiot on stage?

  • Why is bob wearing a dress?

  • holy crawdads!!!!!!! a solo!!!!!!!

  • wtf ever happened to Bob Rock? his name wasnt anywhere on the Death Magnetic album?

  • @TJ12316 Bob Rock was replaced by Rick Rubin. Metallica wanted a harder sound than what they were used to, so they called in the producer that worked on Slipknot's stuff.

  • St Anger is actually a heavy album if you get passed the shitty production audio on it. live performances of these songs prove it

  • temporart bassist?

  • He is the quintesential poser.....

  • I actually heard Jason called them fags for playing live with him - and honestly I'm no homo phonbe but I completely agree....it's an old term for being a dick.....

  • in MY OPINION i think that many people doesnt like the album because of the snare drum

  • @jara485 & until now still about the snare !

  • @jara485

Weak songs and no solos too

  • did bob rock become anorexic?

  • What are you talking about?! They would have been fine without Bob Rock. No, they wouldn't have gone anywhere near to where the black album took them with Rock, but I highly disagree with the above statement.

  • @peterpanskull without bob rock they wouldnt have continued to be the beast they are today. their popularity would have decreased over time.

  • I like the St. Anger stuff. It took a while to sort of get adjusted to it... but once it finally clicks, yea... its awesome.

  • I thought Bob Rock was an old woman lol

  • I only understood St Anger after watching Some Kind of Monster. They should sell them bundled together. I hated that album for 3 years until I decided to watch the documentary.

  • For an album that had zero solos leave it to Kirk to add one in this song

  • St. Anger really grows on you! I was kinda like .. what the hell? .. when it came out. I liked it, but I didn't love it. But today, holy hell this album kicks ass!!

  • Bob used to be a woman.

  • @rockgodfather some would argue Bob is the long lost sister of bobs brother. true fact!

  • Comment removed

  • Kirk: "Ok guys no seriously, I know. No solos permitted on St. Anger tracks. Why would I do a solo? Never even thought about it for onnneee seconAHHHHHH!!! GOT YA! You did NOT see that COMING!"

  • St.Anger's album song with a regular snare is like...you know... a really good song!

  • Only Lars could possibly fuck up 3 times on Dirty Window -____-

  • Fucking hell, Wish i was there, S.F. 10th December 2011, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, and so many more, Send them to Sweden asap!!!!

However i wouldnt say this song is the best, but its Metallica=Always good Live, and their new songs (Death Magnetic (Beyond Magnetic) unreleased songs) are really good, reminding me of ...And Justice for All and Master of Puppets (1986 and 1988) riffs, Keep on Rocking Metallica.

    R.I.P. Cliff Burton \Metallica/

    Nothing Else Matters

  • No Lulu!!! That was really funny

  • Metallica were selling out arenas way before Black album, they were on Iron Maiden level with AJFA, a level Slayer ( and they are my favourite band) and Megadeth never reached and MTV gave them playing time only because of Metallica's popularity with One and later Black Album. Black album just made them one of the biggest rock band, they were one of the biggest metal bands before that.

  • @Wrathmont313, Oh common, Metallica has always been popular than Megadeth. No Megadeth is as popular as Master of Puppets, Creeping Death, One, Battery, Fade to Blacketc. Megadeth's popularity has more to do with Dave being in Metallica than the band itself ( even though they have great music, Dave's vocals are shit). Even Slayer are more popular than Megadeth, because Slayer have metal anthems such as Angel of Death and Raining Blood and they were also the second on the bill for the Big 4 gigs

  • making a samich thats funny

  • why isnt that woman in the kitchen making sandwich?

  • @zwareshag cos its a man o.O

  • Yeah, he looks post menopausal.

  • Is it just me or does Bob Rock look oddly feminine?

  • bob looks like an old woman :D

  • No lulu....no lulu..."rambling" , then a guy in the back "no lulu". LOL

  • fuckin' bob rock....

  • Dude, that solo sucked.. That's why whole album doesn't have 'em, Kirk knew he would fuck up songs, just like That Was Just Your Life D:

  • Bob Rock Jovi ?????????? lol anyways he rocks!

  • Why did they pick a St. Anger song? I'm not hatin' on St. Anger, believe me, but I think Bob biggest and best participation in Metallica was with the Black Album. You think they would have done Enter Sandman or something haha

  • @DustinFarleyTV because bob rock played bass on the St Anger album

  • Lol Hetfield playing on Scott Ians signature guitar?

  • @OldVikingSchool No? hahah :p It's his ESP "The Grynch", made around 1996 I belive. Anyways, he used it most during the Load/Reload/Garage aera along with his black ESP V with an orange flame pattern.

  • @OldVikingSchool And the V was called the JH-1 I think.. There's a green-flammed one too

  • 2 errors while playing the song, and not 1 fuck was given :P

  • cormermusic is a fucking fag!!! lol

  • YES THANK FUCKING GOD ALL THESE VIDS ARE UP!!! I HOPE THEY RELEASE A DVD!!!!!!

  • love the bass blasts from Lars! :D

  • lmfao bob rock looks like an old lady

  • FUCKING LOVE ALL THE SONGS ON ST.ANGER!<3 I don't care what anyone say's. that album as bad fucking ass!
