  • I am 48 years old...been to Disney World over 80 times and still enjoy the Bears Hoedown.Jamboree...Disney did a stupid move by taking this out of DLCA.!!!

    That's all.

  • I LOVED THIS!!! We listen to the music in the car and my kids think im crazy cause they never knew this ride. They just know to look for the 3 heads still hanging in the Pooh ride now. So wish this was still there instead of Pooh :(

  • they replaced this with pooh? fail

  • Wish they did this at the one in Orlando.

  • 3:33

I've seen that park ranger somewhere before... and he sounds like Mr. Smee too...

  • @Thoralmir He was in the old House of mouse shorts about Humphrey the bear, who tried to live like people, but never really succeeded, he also annoyed Donald on his many camping trips

  • Winnie the Pooh could have been put in DCA while leaving this attraction the way it was :( my 4 year old daughter loves the Country Bears movie and it's hard explaining that the movie is based off this attraction cuz she has never seen this.

  • @David5Points i noticed it, its just when i was watching the original it blended with his legs. I have a new design for the CBJ called Country Bear Western Hoedown located on the stage of the golden horshoe. Message me if u wanna read the plans 4 it

  • @LEGOMaster56 Do you mean that u r bringing it back to DCA? Or r u putting it somewhere else?

  • @beachbabe75 somewhere else, located in the golden horshoe, then combine frontierland, critter country, and new orleans square to all be frontierland but like the golden state at DCA with different sections which would include the original lands they were called they also need a babmi ride, a robin hood ride and a something for woody's round up like where u ride through an episode

  • he was always sitting on a barrel, henry was. Thank you sooo much for posting this!! I miss this show soo much, all 3 show versions!!

  • Thank gawd I'm nuthin' but a good ol' country bear!

  • i just noticed something, henry is sitting on a barrel but in the original he's standing up. How did the pull this off? Can u answer my question ru42? Ps, im not 42

  • very1 is saying this belongs at DCA, but this is in the country not california. I think this belongs on the golden horshoe stage.the could build on to the stage to make it all fit. but it should be the classic. Or it could be the first 2 acts from america sings. However they should put this somewhere at disneyland, i was only 2 when it closed 6(6days b4 my bday) and i nvr got to go to it, but i would've love to

  • @LEGOMaster56 California doesnt have country parts??

I have been to some places that would be considered "country" in california.

Plus people say to it at DCA because theres a bear section, and it would fit by Grizzly River Run and that bear trail thing.

  • @sonic619760 I know. I have changed my mind on this and I'm currently working with someone on a revival in Grizzly Peak Recreation Area.

  • @LEGOMaster56 Sounds good

  • @dorahater1 May(an)be!

  • Closed Sept. 9, 2001.

    Two days later...

    Coincedence? You decide.

  • I hope they bring the Country Bears back. They should bring them to the California Adventure Park. Bears would fit nicely in the California themed park.

  • This is my favourite video of bear jamboree because trixie has a hat on so I can't see her wonky eye lol. It's a great video

  • thank you for posting this ru42 i have not seen this show since 1996 when i was a kid. i still cant believe that they took it out. now i can relive my childhood with these videos of rides & shows from disneyland that are no longer there

  • I agree, I don't like The Winnie The Pooh Ride at all. I alway's loves going in to see the bears. What a disappointment they took it out.

  • This is soooo old that jesus went on the opening day

  • @ThePlataformer So did your mom.

  • I REALLY WISH THEY COULD ALL BE CALIFORNIA BEARS. BUT NOW THEY'RE ONLY FLORIDA BEARS :(

  • I love On the Road again, Make it to the Top, Singin in the rain, Ghost Riders and the Finale

  • I saw this version only once in WDW in the mid-80's. This one is lots of fun but my preference is still with the original. I do wish that I could have seen the Christmas show but at least it's on YouTube.

  • they need to bring this show back to wdw!!!

  • omg i miss this soooo much, i remember seeing this when i was 5 or 6 and im 24....is it really bad that i memorized all the songs from this show? lol thanks for posting this!!

  • I can't thank you enough for posting this on here. This brings back so many of my memories of when my family and I were in Disneyland and wanted to relax so we went in here. I am SO disappointed that they took it out and put in Winnie the Pooh. But again, thanks so much for recreating the memories! :)

  • @softballfreako - You are quite welcome!

  • @ru42 Yes, many thanks! I dont live in Ca anymore and this is the only way I can" go back".Plus I can show my kids what a cool place it is! please post anymore videos u might have. Many thanks again for helping me to recapture those wonderful childhood days!

  • LOL I remember that. "No flash photography. that includes you Wendell" I've had a record of the original show, but nothing to remember these other shows. All I could remember of this was Sammy being transformed into a skunk. I don't remember how old I was when I saw this, but I couldn't miss that face knowing them so many years.

  • i wish they would bring it back

  • Comment removed

  • @bomberguy06 I believe it was because it wasn't that big of a 'go to' attraction anymore. Thought I went every time, it just wasn't filling up all the seats anymore.

  • I feel like part of my childhood has been ripped out of me. I used to go see this show every time I visited Disneyland. The last time I saw this was in 2000 and I did not go back to Disneyland until 2005 (which was the 1st time I did not get to see it since it closed in 2001)

  • OMG i remember seeing this when I was like 6 or 7. I'm so sad that they took it down!!! =( I'll always remember this.

  • Comment removed

  • hmm.... if another one of these were to close down, they would probably be great for a scene in splash mountain =)

  • Id sure love to have seen this when it was there would have really been something, just because somethings old doesnt mean you gotta throw it away and newer isnt always better disney had some wonderful ideas he was a genious of themes and animation for his time

  • Will not return to DLand until they bring the Bears back!

  • @MrCampfiresongs

That might be a very very very loooooooong.....time.!

  • I loved this show. We always went to this show in the afternoon when we were hot and tired. It was a nice cool place to go and the wonderful show was the plus! I love your videos!

  • Listen to the audience clapping and cheering during "Rocky Top" "Ghost Riders" and "Thank God I'm a Country (Bear)".

How could they take out this great show?!

Seriously, they need to put this in CA. It's a great show, it would fit the theme of the CA park, and it's a nice cool theater in a park with virtually no shady spots.

    BRING BACK THE COUNTRY BEARS!!!

  • Too bad you had a terrible seat when you were filming this.

  • Aww...I remember seeing this everytime I went to Disneyland as a kid. It was so much fun. Its sad that they took it out. Such memories.

  • The animal heads are still on the Winnie the Pooh ride, i was just there yesterday, if you look back towards the end of the ride, youll see them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • even disney has said that putting pooh in was a mistake

  • omg really well it was a while ago since ive been at the jamboree place since they shut it down so i dont remember everything there

  • Victims of the 100 Acre Wood Massacre:

Mr. Toads Wild Ride and The Country Bear Jamboree Vacation Hoedown.

  • More like Victims of the 100 Acre killer.

  • They still got this attraction in WDW. I'll be going there next June, so I look forward to seeing it.

  • the reason why seasonal shows arn't shown anymore for the bears is due to 2 reasons

    1) it seems mosat prefer the original

    2) guests complain when the show is closed for the cxhangeouts (it takes about 4 days to swap out shows)

  • That may be true, but I think the real reason is this: there were copyright issues over most of the songs.

  • No, probably just didn't want to renew their license for this version of the show.

  • I just saw the vacation hoedown show at Tokyo Disneyland yesterday.

Although a few things are different, like the talking animal heads are on the right side of the theater and the songs are partially in Japanese...

  • the ghostriders in the sky part was my favorite as a kid. thanks for the post. i've been looking for this disneyland version.

  • i guess i will never see this show

  • just got back from a week in WDW..They need to bring back this show for the Bears in the summer!!! We went inot the BEars 4 times just to show numbers but it was not crowded..If people do not go see them they will be gone.

  • During Peak season Grizzly Hall still brings in a pretty good crowd in WDW

  • glad to hear it!

  • Ahh I remember the vacation special! Boy do I miss this ride!

  • So... Country Bears was one of the great Disney rides in the entire history of the parks, and it's final justice was... a REALLY crappy movie...

  • at what time of year did they ever do this show?

  • Summertime...trust me, I was in Orlando in the summer and will never forget it! hehe

  • This is at Disneyland not Disney World in Orl.

  • They should have left this show, it was so much better than the Winnie the Pooh ride.

  • It was this or Mr. Toad. you dicedice

  • but i did find the three animals that r hanging on the wall there right after the honey part of winnie the pooh

  • ive never seen this but i hope they bring it back cause i really want to see it

  • won't happen.

  • I loved this show so much! It brings back a lot of memories for me as well. The movie was great but nothing compares to the real thing. I miss it!

  • I miss this so much. I can't believe that they took it out and put Winnie the Pooh ride there.

  • Disneyland country bear jamboree is way different than Disneyworlds. How in the heck did they make this into Winnie the Pooh??

  • i don't know but i know that because of it, they have big kick marks in there ass.

  • One of them are from me. Bear Country was a staple of every Disney trip growing up. I'm still bitter about Winnie the Pooh, and I'm really hoping they find room for the Country Bears over in DCA or something.

  • @skitch76cd I think they're planning to put Country Bear to DCA in the future.

  • Sooo true

  • This brings back many childhood memories! I miss this so much!

  • i never got the chance to go on this ride. i cant remember going on it at all. that sux cause it looks fun

  • This is a great video of the attraction...

  • Winnie the pooh ride took its place. On my first visit to the show as a kid , I thought the bears came out to greet you and started to cry cause they scared me the first time. This lady told me not to cry cause the bears weren't scary.Later I came to the show 2yrs later loving it.I'm glad they made a movie for it on Disney.

  • haha i love frontierland and everything to do in it

.....especially since my family is full of rednecks.

  • @justjumpit91

This isn't in Froinetierland. It was in critter country

  • @TheBroadwaybob In Disney World, it's in Frontierland. Maybe they were thinking of that.

  • i and maneatingwreath do have a plan to work with disney to bring them back and to have them appear in a redesigned Knott's Bear-y Tales.

  • @althegamefreak Hope it works.

The Grizzly Peak Recreation Area of Disney's California Adventure would be a perfect location for the Country Bear Playhouse. And they could rotate all 3 of the different Bear shows annually (the Vacation show during the summer season, the Xmas show for the holiday season and the original for the remaining seasons).

  • I used to love this as a kid. I made my Dad take me in four times in a row. I miss it so much!

  • Aww, I miss this soooo much! I grew up with the Vacation Hoedown at Disneyland. It broke my heart when I discovered Winnie the Pooh replaced it. At least Max Buff and Melvin 'hung' around. LoL.

They need to bring this back, find a spot in Disney's California Adventure, maybe around the Grizzly Peak area, hey a bear show works with a bear mountain doesn't it?

Anywho, thanks for the great memories and the great music.

  • they wanted to bring it back but bear mountain is a gaint piece of dirt and they found to do that they would have to totally destroy the entire mountain. dumb to not make the mountain a building.

  • Well, I meant the themed area with Grizzly River Run, not the actual mountain. I don't think they'd have room for a stage show and a rapids ride in the exact same location.

However there is a trail between Grizzly River Run and Soarin' Over California. The trail is (I believe) rather empty, seems like they could squeeze it in there somewhere. I think the Brother Bear kids area is around there too so again, the theming would be perfect.

  • Thanks for posting this. I have this recorded from 1990 in Disney World, Florida. Good memories!

  • Man I agree with Solar...Disney needs to start upgrading rides and improving on what made them. Bears had aught to strike out against Disney and attack from the bushes. Damn DLand managers suck anyways...Damnit!

  • I have the official Disneyland soundtrack version of this. It includes the first minute and a half, in really high quality.

  • ru42 I also have a question, in "Ghost Riders in the Sky" is that the audience cheering or the bears I never could figure that out?

  • I think what you are referring to is the audience. - - RU

  • @ru42 NO I AM 43. LOL Get it? RU42 JK Thanks for the memory. Great exchange between close ups and full body and you even got all the back pictures some others neglect. Volume on the sound is good too.

  • America Sings- Gone.

    Country Bear Playhouse- Gone.

The Enchanted Tiki Room- I hope it doesn't leave or be changed!

  • I hope not. I miss the Country Bears so much. Disneyland isn't the same without them. I hope the rumors of the bears returning to Disney's California Adventure are true. It would've been great to see America Sings as well.

  • I had all these songs stuck in my head all week.

  • When I saw this show, I was in the second row. When I looked at Melvin, I have three words- Cold.Dead.Eyes.

  • they need to move the winnie the pooh ride to that empty lot next to small world and put this back in. i would go see the 1st performance of this if they did that.

  • 7 years ago Winnie the Pooh(P) robbed us ub this great attraction

  • If you're in Disneyland, Ca the three heads are still in the Winnie the Pooh ride, though this attraction is gone it brought a smile to my face to see their faces again.

  • Very true. If you want to see them follow this link: tinyurl*com/5rmom2 (replace the * with a .) - - RU

  • @jazelise that is very true ive seen them last year

  • I went on the last day of this attraction and people were crying and cheering wildly for the bears each time they came out. At the end, people cried and took pictures in front of the curtain one last time. I plan to grow up and bring this to California Adventure. :)

  • ME TO!

  • F.Y.I. The building across from Golden Dreams is a great place to put it. It's never been used.

  • I think the Little Mermaid Ride is replacing Golden Dreams. Of course, I know a perfect place to put CBJ in Disney's California Adventure. I think they should get rid of The Magic of Brother Bear and put CBJ there.

  • No way, the magic of brother bear is awesome. Besides, the area is too small

  • The Magic of Brother Bear is cute. But, it's not that popular anymore.

  • Yes Disney needs to start updating and taking care of the USA parks

  • Pray that they clean up the audio track. The CBJ at the WDW Magic Kingdom is HORRENDOUS. You can't hear the audio over the clacking of animatronics. I've personally complained about that AND the fact that hey no longer run the Christmas edition. They don't care. It's a shame to leave such a great attraction to waste like that.

  • It's going down for a refurb I think in November, maybe a retool and the Christmas show?

  • Never too old for the Bears!

  • Since Disney is planning on building new attractions in California adventure, I hope the rumor about the bears coming back is true, and that disney considers bringing this attraction back. I miss it so much.

  • Me too. This ride was a staple for my family and me. I'm still bitter at Winnie the Pooh taking up this space. = /

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Then join us bears, and suck up some air in the GREAT OUTDOORS!

  • I was only able to see them once when I was little. I seriously thought a real bear controled the lighting! X3

The next time I went to see them, Pooh had replaced them. I'm pretty sure that I would have thought that I was too old to see them, but I was kinda sad that I wouldn't be able to again...

  • it's so fun to make these shows! i work with some animatronics that is so like this. that show is named brumleband, it's norwegian.

  • i miss the country bears... i love winnie the pooh but they shouldnt have replaced the country bears

  • I heard there's one place in the Pooh ride where if you turn around at the beginning and look up they put the Moose, Deer, and Buffalo heads up on the wall as sort of a memorial... I've wanted to go back just so I could see the three of them. I loved the Country Bears when I was little...

  • thanx 4 the info...i want to go back and check it out too. thanx again

  • me 2........although i do love the Pooh ride....but i miss the country bears...they need to put both in somewhere

  • thank you so much for posting this vid! i used to love this show when i was a kid. my fav part was when they sang riders in the sky. brings back memories.

  • Looks like it was good. My mom tried taking me when I was little, but I was too scared and cried until we left. We never even saw the opening.

  • wait! this is gone!!!!! r u f-ing serious?! I loved this it was the best show! omfgosh!!! OMG what?! thats so stupid! I love this show! I watch the poo ride on here and its gay WTFLIP! Whose ever idea it was to remove this should be slapped lol. Losers I was guna take my lil cuz to see this :-(

  • its the evil disneyland presidents paul pressler and cynthia hariis.but now they are fired and a new president is in charge and is bringing old rides back!woo hoo!! for disneyland!!

  • GOOD!!! lol buncha losers! maybe the new president will bring this back! lol we can only hope :-)

  • yes they are bringing it back in grizzly park california adventure sometime soon or later.

  • awsome! :-)

  • There was a brief mention of this as a mere suggestion of how to draw folks to the Grizzly Peak area of California Adventure when it's too cold to get soaked on its only ride. They were gonna put in on the mtn, but they discarded the idea because its not feasible.

  • is this really true????

  • Walt Disney World got our old attraction once again take a flight to Forida and you can see it.

  • yes lol in a a couple of years!

  • I loved and miss this attraction so much! I can't believe they removed it to replace it with that stupid Winnie the Pooh ride! It's horrible! Thank you so much for bringing back the nostalgia for me! :)

  • So I wonder if this is a show that Disney will be bringing back at a later time. If they are smart the would. EVERY person I talk to wants that show back in Disneyland. Would be a great way to draw a crowd.

  • I think this version of Country Bears is as good as the original. Still risky to tamper with a good show though. I didn't care for the movie, but the movies and the theme parks should not be judged against each other.

  • R.I.P. The Country Bear Playhouse at DL.

Got chased out by a wimpier bear, who was full of Pooh.

  • yeah pooh must be protested to bring back the country bears.

  • lol.yeah a foolish pooh should chased them.thats sad.

  • my bad a typo i meant to say a pooh should have not chased them.

  • yeah I'll bet that they only made the movie because they where going to close the attraction. Maby for the memores?

  • that is the exact reason why they made the movie

  • That movie was one of three that were made based off a disney attraction

  • yeah but at least they did not close the other two

  • Just asking, you know what i am talking about, right?

  • so stupid they closed it like a year after that movie came out too bad marketing

  • I wish this show was at WDW. They stopped doing the Christms show. What a drag!

  • I wish WDW would bring the Vacation show back, too.

But they the Xmas show has not been retired permanently. They just had to re-clear the copyrights to use certain songs in that show, including "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer".

  • Cheryl Poole voiced Trixie just in the Original show

  • totally! they really need to bring back the country bears!! even if its at california adventure...it needs to come back =( i miss it badly..

  • They look alive! cool TRUE DISNEY MAGIC!

  • i miss this so much i wish they put it back in disneyland

  • Great

  • whats the diffrence between the vacation show and the orginal? It all looks the same to me. I used to love this show when i was younger!

  • Shame about all the out of time clapping along

  • Thanks for this video--it's great! Sucks that Disneyland took this out for the Pooh Bear ride. :(

    I miss this show. :(

  • I lived in Florida for 22 years...have seen this show over 40 times and the Hoedown was the best hands down...Keep it alive and write Disney..Tell'em bring it back!

  • you write to disney and tellem to bring back to disneyland

  • As the voice of Trixie for this show and the Country Bear Christmas special, I was awfully glad to have found both here on YouTube.

So if you are the owner of the copyright for this video - can you tell me how I might obtain a copy?

(I never got a copy of the recording from Disney...)

  • I checked Wikipedia, the voice of trixie was Cheryl Poole.

  • She must have been the voice of Trixie in the ORIGINAL show. As I said before, I did Trixie's voice in the Vacation Hoedown and in the Christmas Special, as well as in a Christmas show for the Disney park in Tokyo.

  • How difficult was it to learn Japanese?

  • Ha! Actually, the song they had me record for the Tokyo show was one of the few songs in the show (they tell me) that was in English. (I've never been to Tokyo, and was never provided with a recording of the show, so I'll have to take their word for it!) It was a re-written version f "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" that begins,

"Have yourself a merry little Christmas Ask me if I care, From now on, you won't be my main grizzly bear"

Trixie has been stood up again, you see! ;)

  • Ok, I know this reply is way overdue, but I only have 2 things to say. 1st, I'm sorry for that earlier reply, at the time, that was the only name I could find associated w/ sed character. And 2, I have just recently did a recheck, and it has finally been updated. If you're say your the second voice of Trixie, according to the info I uncovered, that means your FULL name is: Suzanne Sherwin.

  • THEY SUCK

    good vid ^^

  • i love the bear show! i miss it so much. damn winnie the pooh!

  • go to wdw. its the original one and we have pooh too!
