  • I recently switched to Plusnet, their advisers are most rude and vile people I have ever spoken with!!

  • @takineti that really surprises me if I'm honest! I don't suppose you can provide me with your username or a recent support ticket reference from your account? That way I can see who it is you spoke to and listen to the call ^BP

  • @PlusNetTV I would provide you with these details, but I fear that the action you would most likely take is to disconnect me from my already, EXTREMELY, slow internet connection. I switched to Plusnet because it was cheaper, but the nature of your advisers, offensive and rude, and very impatient, makes it extremely NOT worth it. For anyone considering switching to Plusnet, be prepared for a lot of disappointment, Do NOT listen to the claims made by their sales people, they'll say anything!!!!

  • @PlusNetTV Yeah I'm not particular a fan or non-fan of Plusnet, but you have to laugh at anyone comparing with Sky - Fine purveyors of piss poor slow broadband. Personally I'm with Be Broadband and love it - but I do like your adverts.

  • My building does not have cable so I am stuck with having broadband down my BT phoneline (well thephoneline is now with plusnet) but I never use the phone it only support the broadband. It's sad really because you hav to take into account that getting PLUSNET at it's 'low' cost actually is more than they state because you have to have a BT / PLUSNET phoneline

    If Plusnet were decent they would give homeusers with their phoneline who don't use it much a big reduction on rental - they don't.

  • @sweetypie000 we have to pay our wholesalers for your landline service. We also have to try and make money from customers (rather than lose it). We are a business after all! Regardless, we're still of the opinion that we're one of the best value for money providers in the industry.

    BT-Indian call centres who lie to you

    Saying ur service will be active in 14 days

    A month later you have the broadband but every other day your broadband line is down

    Verdict:Crap

    Not sure what the error code you're getting is as it seems to have been stripped from your comment?

    If you're comfortable doing so, you could try putting the PS3 in the DMZ using the router interface to see if that helps?

  • Be Aware, there is an automatic £25 fee for cessation (cancellation, saying you don't want them anymore after any time period.) They say this is a BT bill - regardless imo who's requesting it because it is plusnet who is charging me.

    They never told me about ANY cessation when I signed someone up (a pensioner btw) and I grilled them saying "are there ANY hidden charges" I was totally assured there were none.

    GOOD HONEST BROADBAND ? NO, not at all.

  • @sweetypie000 the cessation fee is only applicable if the broadband is fully 'switched off', it isn't applicable to customers who leave us for another broadband provider that uses the BT network. There's more info about it on our website. If you signed up online then it's referenced in the T's & C's you agreed to, if you signed up over the phone then it's referenced in the T's & C's that were emailed to you.

  • @sweetypie000 we've switched on comment approval for these videos because of some very offensive comments that have been posted to our channel in the past. We wouldn't want those sorts of comments visible where there's a chance we'll offend our customers.

  • @PlusNetTV theres offensive comments all over youtube - it's called freedom of speech. If plusnet are upset by customers comments then maybe they ought to listen to the customer and give an honest service and cut down on the complaints.

    I would, like new and old customers, appreciate reading everyones valid opinion of an ISP

  • @sweetypie000 the comments i'm referring to were nothing do do with our service, and whilst i support freedom of speech it reflects very poorly on the company's image if we advocate, rasist, abusive or 'spam' posts on our youtube channel.

    To make it *absolutely* clear, we have approved *all* comments containing feedback whether good or bad. That's as long as they haven't contained excessive swearing or unecessarily abusive remarks directed at other people who've posted here.

    the fact of the matter is that £good honest broadband" reputation WILL be damaged if you lift your "comments pending" option.

    What is there to be afraid of ? Every other ISP out there takes the flak good or bad.

    ~ We do *not* censor negative feedback.

    ~ The *only* posts we don't approve are those containing spam and racist/abusive/offensive comments etc.

    ~ We will *not* switch off comment approval as we don't want posts like those mentioned above offending our customers or tarnishing our image.

    Hopefully I don't need to make it any clearer what our stance on comment moderation is?

  • Worst ISP in England, at least in my experience. Why do you think they are putting ads on TV in the first place, to drum up business of course, they hope these mildly amusing ads will pull in a few unsuspecting newbies... as im sure they will. Hate Plusnet and always advise people to stay away if they show interest in joining i steer people elsewhere to a more "honest" ISP.

  • @PlusNetTV No you cant help me, and yes, i am an ex-customer, which is where "my experience" comes in. As for the ads i would suggest that the ads are there because you obviously arent that popular, you dont see many other ISPs pumping out ads, other than the very big ones that arent just ISPs (Virgin, Sky, BT, etc). Anyway, good luck, but you spoiled your reputation years ago in my opinion.

    I think Plusnet are lovely company, anytime I need any help there's really charming people at the end of the phone. I had a speed issue a while ago and they sorted it really quickly! Turns out something at the exchange was playing up. Maybe you just had a bad experience, I recommend Plusnet to everyone I know who needs internet :)

  • @TonyAganaSUFC I know it is supposed to be like that on purpose because the slogan is 'from Yorkshire', however, I saw this advertised on a poster before I watched this advert. The poster gave no indication that it was written like that on purpose but it just made the company seem retarded. I just don't think it is very good that thousands of people will see this poster and will assume it is right.

  • @thedancinggymnast Only someone so idiotic that they do not deserve an opinion would believe that everything an advertising campaign says is correct. Hundreds of other TV ads use colloquialisms, and for far worse products than Plusnet's service, (which, by the way, is excellent.)

    It's ridiculous... myself and my FIVE housemates feel conned. Not to mention that they are cheating us out of AT LEAST 2Gb per month based on how they work it out. Our internet usage was 'topped up' yesterday - today we're back to slow internet. I don't know how they work it out, but we're not happy and they keep fobbing us off. None of my other friends are happy with them, either.

  • @RaraTayessem why do you think we're 'cheating' you out of bandwidth? We're certainly not aware of any problems with our monitoring systems. As per our usage monitoring pages, we measure data using 1000 Kilobytes = 1MB (Megabyte), 1000 MB = 1 GB (Gigabyte).

    If you've an open support ticket, then post the reference here and i'll be more than happy to take a look into things for you?

  • @PlusNetTV I've dealt with a representative over the phone and I'm still unhappy with the way things are worked out. As a computing student, I feel offended that people treat me like an idiot... I know the data measured is incorrect, and had it confirmed by a tutor who used to work for an ISP to make sure I was correct in questioning it.

    Myself and my housemates are looking into a new ISP for after Christmas.

  • @RaraTayessem with all due respect the tutor may have been right to advise you question the usage, but they can't possibly have access to the necessary information/systems required to tell you that it's been calculated incorrectly . As mentioned in my previous post, if you post a ticket reference here I'll have a look myself and check the back-end databases for any descrepancies.
