Actually i think it could have been a fossil of a fish like aquatic alien depending were its on mars. Its actually very likely because when the solar system was young our planet (when it was still in its magma state) collided with a large object which formed the moon, this could have stunted but not stop earths development of life. Mars collided with a massive asteroid after it cooled that in theory shut down mars's magnetic field, and killed all life on the planet. I saw it in a documentary.
Well, yes, Mars had water many years ago and all planets have weather so of course you are going to see the same weather "signatures". It doesn't make it spooky or sinister.
There are basaltic rock formations like this on earth (in asia and the southern most tip of England reaching into the sea). These are possibly crystal cooling and weathering effects.
@rrmmii : You could be right, who knows. I find the image rather bizarre, however, i also know that rock formations can produce a lot of weird shapes and forms. I do agree with you in as much as, on a count of ten for bizarreness, it could take a seven, or an eight. Thanks for replying, have a good week.
The U.S has been on mars since the 1970's and Crater Hale is an ultra secret base on mars since the late 1970's. old news

My guess is that it's a lava flow that cracked upon cooling.
