Wow...the first few minutes of this video is definetely GLEN OAKS in the 1950's...this pre-dates my video..."The Postman Brothers in Glen Oaks 1965-1968"...thanks for posting this video...
Actually, the first minute and a half is somewhere on Long Island,at a place called Glen Oaks, probably not far from NYC. My family moved from there to EB around 1956. The street in the second half of the clip is Halick Ct in the Lawrence Brook section of town, not far from Exit 9,NJTurnpike.
@BobGault Thats so wierd, im watching the movie, and im thinking that looks like were i grew up , Glen Oaks Apartments , Queens, L. .I. , NY . Then i read your note below. Actually i grew up across the street in Grand Central Apartments. Did you go to school there? P.S 186 Castlewood School. Tell me if you remember Glen oaks, i lived there in 1954 thru 1965 .
@BobGault Do you have anymore home movies from GLEN OAKS ? A lot of us who lived there in the 1950's and 1960's as children would love to see old Glen Oaks , thanks.
@BobGault Do you know the street and address from Glen Oaks, you can go on google earth and find that exact aparment, there all still there as co ops now. I see in your movie the tree's were small, you should see that area now , it looks really nice , the apartments still look the same, but the tree' s are huge. If you have the old street address id like to see if i can find it on goole earth and try and match it up to your old movies too. thanks.
What neighborhood/street did you live in/on? Cause that looks a lot like the refurbished townhomes we lived in off of rte 18. like...just like it. The first minute and a half of the video.
I edited some interesting GLEN OAKS FOOTAGE TOGETHER...its called "The Postman Brothers in Glen Oaks 1965-1968"...seach youtube for this video...

Nice movie. East Brunswick is so hemmed in by development now, it probably feels as hectic as New York did in the 50's
