That's a bad job on the collision mesh. I don't know what hit boxes are. Of course, I'm a Battlefield 1942 modder, not a modder of ... whatever this game is.

@SwaffyX Hit boxes are invisible boxes placed within the model simulating it's "hits" ex. Without hit boxes on a model such as a soldier or vehicle in bf1942 your bullets would simply go through them. Their is no hit boxes placed in the far areas of the wing, thus clipping does not occur.

Thats usually happens on IL2 Sturmovik 1942 using the Ultra P@ck, same as the b-29 and others that only in the unmodded game crashes relistcly.

i remember when Il2 first came out and they had that il2 loader program for online play. Flying ai planes online with external view only was fun but also so hard to aim. over the like 1 year duration i played till the first expansion i managed only like 40 kills flying the 262 on externals only. Good times

okay so i just got this game. and i cant friggen take off. i went through all the steps in the tutorial and even with the WEP i cant get my airspeed above 230 (thats after doing pretty much a nosedive). its so slow i cant maneuver, i have full power and combat flaps, what am i doing wrong?

@raccoonmatinginyour the il2 sturmovik i believe. the one given to you in the training mission and in the first campaign mission. i actually misspoke i put flaps into takeoff then go into combat after i take off.  and i dont have b held down. i hit a max o like 170 on the runway and i cant get any faster, i take off and get my gear up and all and it just wont go above 200 unless i dive :(

@a7xbeacon Wait, you are trying to takeoff a carrier right? If you are then you should not be using an Il-2 (a Sturmovik is a Russian fighter pilot). It would be good to have the name. But anyway, for another suggestion you could try trimming your elevators upwards. Are you trying to pull up right before you reach the end of the runway? If so or not you could be pulling up to quickly, wait until you get off the end and let yourself lower a tad before pulling up, have nice slow movements as well.

both crashes are contact point glitches, the crash with the aircraft carrier island is something that simulators will do this on the easy setting, the second is that since the pane was not intended for the player to use the contact points are unrealistic, they will trigger an explosion is you fly the whole plane into the ground, granted I dont have the game, it was upside down on my computer so dont trust my facts
